Hell of some growth in a year. Hell yeah bud.
honestly love how you gave the guy a proper shoutout for giving you the free sight, you seemed very genuine about it too.
Definitely appreciate when someone has a part of my channel!
Picked up a single pin slider, optimizer lite. Fairly inexpensive for a slider. Anyway, like you I have been playing with it to get better at long range 3D. Like you I had to use self made marks for 100yd+. But it allowed me to hit foam. I saved my fixed pined sight for hunting, too much happening for me to worry about sliding the pin. Great Test, nice shootin Tex!
Thanks! I’ve actually started shooting the trophy Ridge Hotwire with two fixed pins and a third floater. Only gets me to 72 yards with my slow bow but I’m loving it!
Way Too Go Sailed 3 arrows Into Those balloons (your welcome thanks on the shout out ) Glad your paying it forward .God bless now go get some rest.
Thanks again Silvio!
You got so pumped hitting those balloons brother I love it!!
Thanks for watching. I really enjoy the long range stuff
Newer channel, no ads, great content, amazing
Awesome brother, I like a single pin sight for fooling around at long range
Thanks for watching. I still hope some day to have a setup that can get me to 100 yards without the guess work
Really enjoyed your reactions. God bless
Glad you enjoyed
Good video. I’ve shot both over the years. I prefer multi pins while self-filming my hunts 👍
This is my first experience with a single pin. I would enjoy playing around with one more in the future but for now I’m sticking with my multi pin. I think for my style of hunting and shooting or hybrid 2 or 3 pin slider would work well.
Cant see your last couple rounds you shot.good video.for hunting and 3d multi pin sight is the best if you want to shoot far and accurately
Interesting. I feel like a single pin is better and precise distance
Single pins are fine for target shooting. But screwing with moving your sight when hunting is a huge no go.
It's fine I do it all the time with micro adjustable click sight adjustments but granted your hitting is probably alot different to mine.
That was great!
Thanks Jason
good job
Thanks
If I remember right shooting in cold weather will affect shooting 🤔
For recurve yes for compound no
You're going to have to shoot 10,000 yards for 10,000 subscribers.
Congrats man.
😂 that’s not going to happen. Thanks.

Great video Good shooting for a 100 yard with a bow
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. I appreciate it!
I getting my 1st compound bow it comes on Monday what sight should I get that wouldn’t break the bank I am on a fix income
That’s a great question. I suppose that depends on exactly how much would break the bank. Walmart sells a trophy ridge sight for around $20. It’s not great but it will get the job done. It will be more fiddly to sight in but should function fine after that. If you have a bit more than $20 I would consider something like this trophy ridge over in amazon

Interesting thoughts. Thanks for sharing. That's a long poke for a bow only shooting 250 ft a second. Here's my thoughts on long range shooting - ruclips.net/video/MKIoa4fzBos/видео.html - and here is me shooting a deer at 82 yards - ruclips.net/video/dhiWMkzw2xg/видео.html . It can be done but margin of error is very very narrow. I practice 4-5 days a week and 75% of my shooting is at 60-80 yards. Don't think I would shoot at a deer at 100 yards. Just can't get my groups tight enough. but sure would be fun shooting at a balloon. I will have to try that. For hunting situations, I would never use a single pin adjustable sight. Takes too much time to range, adjust, aim and shoot and adds more complexity. 7 pin sight works best, and especially when self filming hunts. Next time you shoot at 100 yards, try propping your arm on a Primos tripod shooting stick. With enough practice and a stable platform, you can get very accurate at long distances. The deer at 82 yards that I shot, I used a Primos stick. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Have a great rest of your season.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I did just check out your video of the 82 yard deer. I don't mean to be critical, but I just could not justify that shot. That deer had way too much reaction time, resulting in a bad shot and a suffering deer.
As for sights, well I guess its great we have a lot of different options since we are all different. I wouldn't be able to stand a 7 pin sight...too much clutter. I have actually found something I really love. It is the trophy ridge hotwire. It has 2 fixed pins giving me a no fuss solution for deer in the range where I feel comfortable and things happen fast. If I feel like shooting longer ranges for practice, I can dial in the 3rd pin just like a single pin sight. Makes me much more accurate than trying to gap shoot with multiple fixed pins.
Once again thanks for sharing your thoughts...I sure do appreciate it.
I used to live and die by single pin sight when I deer hunted years ago. My favorite was one by Impact Archery
I’ve since switched to a hybrid. It has two fixed pins and a third moveable. I love that sight.
@@TheBudgetSportsmansounds cool. Im getting back into it after 10 or so years of not shooting.
Have fun. A lot has changed in the last 10 years!
You never mention the brand of the single pin sight. Being a budget sportsman I figured you would pass the knowledge on where we can get a good piece of old kit that wouldn't be as expensive as new.
I apologize. This was intended to be more of a comparison between the two types of sights rather than a review or recommendation of either sight. The single pin was a trophy ridge. I believe it was called the Drive. amzn.to/2AJ8XGK. It is currently $52 on Amazon. For just a few $ more you could get the pursuit, which looks a bit nicer and I believe it has more range of travel, giving you the ability to shoot longer range. amzn.to/33bRjHJ Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Don't you know you're suppose to lie on RUclips.
Edit out all the misses and just claim you hit it on your first shot .....
Not my style.
I think your perception of what you're calling using a single pin is a little off. Putting a dot lower on the post of the pin is the equivalent of having a second pin. I hunted with a single pin for 35 years until I lost sight in my left eye. The last 10 years I've had to use a 3 pin sight with a rangefinder because I lost my depth perception with only one eye. However, back when I used a single pin, I knew my bow well enough to know how high over the target (or deer) to aim. At 40 yds I would aim about 2" above a deer's back. This is what I thought your video was going to be about....actually using a single pin and learning how high to aim. I did like, though, that you said you've never shot a deer past 30 yds. To me, bowhunting is a close range sport. I'm much more proud of the several does I've shot almost straight down than a big 7 pt I shot at 42 yds. In any case, great video. Thanks.
Thank you for your kind input. I fully understand what a single pin is and fully understand that I made it a two pin sight (though I would never actually use that large sharpie mark for anything other than playing around.) I was disappointed in this particular “single pin” sight because it did not have the range of motion to get me the distance that I wanted. I used it as a single pin as far as it would go. I wanted to go farther so I added the second dot. Just simply “holding over” at 100 yards is extremely difficult. The drop is measured in feet not inches. If you want to see the same shooting with me just holding over, that is exactly what I did in my multipin video of shooting 100 yards.
Again thanks for taking time to comment and share you experience.
@@TheBudgetSportsman Please understand, I wasn't criticizing you. Sometimes the written word can imply the wrong emotion. No, I think the simple fact that you could hit the balloon at 100 yds is awesome. I'd be lucky to hit the whole bale. Lol. My point was just that I was thinking the test was, as I said, to show how you have to aim differently with a single pin. You're right, just aiming high is extremely challenging. I wouldn't even begin to know how high to aim at 100 yds.....but again, for me, bowhunting is about the challenge of getting close. 42 yds is the farthest I've ever shot a deer. One other thing, when I think of "single pin", I'm thinking in terms of a FIXED single pin. I've never used a slider type sight. In my opinion, and I could be wrong, a moveable single pin isn't much different than multiple pins. If you can move your pin to the distance you want, it's really kind of the same as having multiple pins...with the advantage being less clutter and also being able to dial it in to the EXACT yardage. Bottom line is, it's all about enjoying what you're doing. Keep up the good work.
Russell Langworthy thank you for the positive comments.
could you help me with my single pin sight I have an equal wing that you are using in the video but I do not know what number of tape to use you can recommend me or say which is the correct one I should use thank you I hope your answer
Which sight tape you use will be different depending on bow speed. I would recommend putting a piece of masking tape on the sight where your sight tape would go. Then I would adjust the sight till it is on at 20 yards. Take a pen and mark where the pointer is. Do the same at 40 and 60 yards. Then use the tape to match your sight tape. This should get you close.
If you do not already have sight tapes you can download some free ones at this website. You can print them in an adhesive address label and put them on the sight.
