I have a question i just picked up two storage units i won and this was my first time doing this so in the picture it looks like the boxes were full but when I got there they were empty or litterly had nothing but garbage in them. The only good thing i got were a dollie in one and a dollie and ladder in the other not even worth the hour drive and 200 bucks i spent. And the other thing i noticed is that everything was already ran sacked and the guy even made a comment that the unit had not been touched it was a fresh unit so i asked him what do you mean he said oh you know first dibbs and I should of asked him more questions but I didn't so what does that mean who gets first dibs on these units?
That sounds like they pick through the unit and take the stuff they like and you should file a dispute with the bank if what you got doesn't match the photo description and write a bad Google review

You didn’t mention what I call “free roll” units. They are when the facility has the same pictures on two different size units and you know that they have the wrong pictures on one or the other. If you see a 10x20 and a 5x10 unit and both have the same pictures of a 5x10 unit then you bid the 10x20 you go pay for it and when they open the door you make a snap decision of weather you want it for the price you paid or not, if not tell them this is not the unit in the pictures and they will refund your money. You would be surprised how often this happens. I will only bid if it is close to me and I won’t be investing much time, I have done this a few times and once bought a unit I would have paid in excess of $1,000 for and got it for $160. I also bought a 10x40 (rv storage indoor unit) for $10 once hoping for a huge surprise and boy did I get one, it would have cost me thousands in time and dump fees so naturally I passed.

I think that when you max bid there’s someone behind the scene that’s bids it up on purpose
I still feel like these websites increment the price to trick you into thinking you are betting against some else
