Ascites is a condition in which fluid collects in the abdomen. In patients with liver disease, ascites is caused by a combination of high blood pressure in the liver and an imbalance in sodium and water metabolism.
Ascites may interferes with breathing, fluid can be removed from the abdomen using a long needle in a process called Abdominocentesis.

Hello doc. May other way po ba like gamot para ma-ihi yung excess water? Currently po kase lumalaki yung tyan ng puppy ko and parang may tubig so I assumed na may Ascites sya, hindi ko po kase mapacheck sa vet due of financial problem 😢

Doc, paano po pag na drained na yung water pero after three days, lumaki po ulit yung tyan ng aso.

My dog had this after spending thousands of dollars & suggestion of euthanasia, I figured out "myself" what was wrong. It's the freaking dog food. I make homemade dog food now and it all went away, but you can't feed beef, chicken or eggs. The fluid build up was an allergic reaction
