I think Skyler's hatred of "Yo" came from her interaction with Jesse.
That's 100% why she says that line. There's an emphasis on Jesse saying "yo" in his conversation with Skyler earlier. It's a callback to that.
Exactly. Skylar didn't have an issue with the word "Yo", until she had her confrontation with Jesse and noticed how much he used it. So now every time her son uses it, she thinks of Jesse, that's all.

The reason Skylar told him not to say yo was because she heard Jesse say it on his outgoing message for his answering machine or whatever. Thats why she hated it, thats what the joke there was

You mentioned that, when looking at Walt's behavior, you have to keep in mind that he has cancer. This is true to a point. But when looking at Skylar's behavior, you need to keep in mind that she is a 40-something year old woman going through an unplanned pregnancy with a (so far as she knows) healthy 50-year-old husband who is suddenly staying out late and disappearing at odd hours, who lied to her for weeks about quitting his job at the car wash and is apparently hanging out with a 20-something delinquent from whom he is buying pot (and if this is also a lie the pot story is one he thinks sounds better than whatever he's covering up). Cut the woman some slack! Not Marie though -- she seems to by an out-and-out thief...

When my mom did meth I always knew because she was cleaning and the house was picked up. But when she was sober she was always sleeping.
Skyler disliked "yo" because Jesse kept saying it to her. It wasn't a 'white picket' thing
Well, he said it to her once and she picked it right up and threw it back at him hard, but apparently the whole exchange was part of a traumatic experience that left her easily triggered. …Yeah, you know, I’ve always been solidly on Skyler’s side from the start, but I can definitely see how her early form set some people off.

Meth is very similar to Adderall. You can definitely still drive after using it. It makes you extremely focused. Might be tweaking a little, but it's nothing like being drunk af. Unless the user has been up for multiple days. That may be more dangerous. The lack of sleep makes a user extremely paranoid and at risk of hallucinating.
Small thing about Skylar is the reason she was so annoyed about Walt Jr saying "Yo" is that it reminded her of Jesse.

For real though: water, and waste water, treatment is an interesting topic. For cities with centralized systems they can do interesting stuff like test for concentration of pharmaceuticals; find out what and how much the city is taking of various substances that can survive for a while in the effluent. Kinda important too. I read about a viral outbreak of Hepatitis that spread across Europe because people were eating raw clams that were raised in an estuary that received sewage overflow during some flooding.
Water and wastewater professional, 8 years, and yes, that is THE mantra, the solution is dilution.

There is a very simple reason why. Skylar isn't entertaining or interesting. The job of a show is to be compelling and entertaining. Walt is both. Skylar isn't. That is why she is disliked. It really isn't complicated 😅

Tbf, Skyler hating 'yo' was meant more as a callback to her confrontation with Jesse more than her suburban mom-ness. Not much of a defense though, since her trip to Jesse's house was probably her dumbest moment.
Yeah it was dumb for her to go there for safety reasons, but people think it’s just because she has a stick up her a**. She did it because she could tell Walt was lying and acting very out of character and she attributed it to the pot since she didn’t know about the cancer yet. Also, like it or not, pot was illegal and they’re close to the DEA so it’s reasonable for her to be concerned about her husband getting into legal trouble and losing his job.

Meth is a stimulant, I tried a few times and trust me wanting to sit around and do nothing is def not a option. I deep cleaned my garage for almost 2 days straight 😂. The most organized and clean its ever been. Dont do drugs kids only "pot" . Wonderful reaction ❤ as always.
I think its said at one point that jesse has ADHD so the meth smoking probably helps improve some of his symptoms to a certain degree although not as effectively as a real amphetamine prescription.
As a Skylar lover I do get the annoyance towards her and Marie early on as they are the typical suburban clueless wives who are very nosy but later on compared to the men in this show y’all start to see they really aren’t that bad
