Yes, people do use IR blasters. Personally, I didn't care much about them till I got hold of my 11T. Home ACs, office projectors etc etc all make use of my phone's IR without me having to go hunt around for remotes.
fair! for me and most of the people I know, the only remote we need is the TV remote which always stays on the coffee table. Everyone I know who has AC has a heat pump that doesn't use a remote control.
Same. I have 4 TVs in the house and all I need is my phone as a universal remote to control them. Likewise I use it both for home and office AC systems.
I would use the IR Blaster if it came with my phone. I missed the older Samsung devices that came with it. The last phone was the galaxy s6 if I’m not mistaken. Not only useful but fun as well. I had fun using it in the restaurants turning on/off and changing the channels on the television and the confused face of the people and the guy at the bar every time it happened. It was so much fun!! Yes, I would like for the Samsung and other company to bring it back! 😄😎
I use IR Blaster A LOT. Literally almost every day. I've been using Xiaomi since 2016 and this year I bought a OnePlus... I really missed IR. I'm selling my OnePlus, not because it's a bad device, but because I'm extremely used to using IR
Honestly, I've stopped watching tech oriented content, it feels like it's always the same with all the RUclipsrs out there... BUT... I find Jared always fun to watch... He's underrated as hell. For a constant traveler, IR Blaster (remote control) is such a nifty feature, you don't have to touch common remote controls anymore which you have no idea its disinfected properly or not. Xiaomi MI Remote is not just an average remote control (internet connection needed)

I got the 12x instead and i`m happy with my choice. In my opninion SD870 instead of 8gen1. I got 7.5 hours of screen on time and the battery lasts a full day of heavy use. Overall 12x is a better and cheaper choice than 12. The only thing i hate about this phone is the curved screen. The cuved edges are useless and annoying even with the accidental touch big area enabled. I switched from Huawei p30 because this was the only kinda small phone. I would like my next phone to be smaller but i`m pessimistic about it. It`s my first Xiaomi phone and it`s not bad but my go to phone is Huawei. If they will manage to get back with GMS, i would get one without hesitation.

I've heard that IR blasters have a market in Asia, so it isn't much of a surprise that quite a few Chinese phones have that feature.
oh ok! I guess there's a lot of apartments with AC units in Asia. In North America, most AC units are heat pumps and don't have a remote

I still use IR blaster, on Xiaomi 10S haha It's pretty useful ✨ Thanks for the review ^^

Exept the heating problems during gaming and using hotspot
