Sunny 16 | Perfect Exposure Without A Light Meter
In today's video, I'm going to be showing you a way to get near perfect exposure in your film photography without using a light meter. The way to do this is by using Sunny 16. Sunny 16 is a rule you can use to quickly and easily figure out what camera settings to use to expose your photos perfectly for various lighting conditions. To start using Sunny 16, simply pick your film and then select the shutter speed that most closely matches the film's ISO. (For example, if you're using a 400 speed film, select 1/500 sec shutter speed or 1/400 sec if your camera has that option) From there, use this chart to get near perfect exposures in your photos:
Sunny - f/16
Partly Cloudy - f/11
Overcast - f/8
Heavy Overcast - f/5.6
Shade/Rainy/Sunset - f/4
