I avoid letting it sit more than a min or two as I fear the concentrated chemical could lighten my pebble finish. I do just swish it around in the pool as it is a chemical I use often in the pool. If the stain is lessened, but still there, after a min or two, I go for a second application with the same procedures and it usually is taken care by the end of the second application.
@@texasknowhow3143 Sweet. Thanks for the tip. Heard Vitamin C tabs work too. 🤷🏻♂️Have a relatively new pebble tec pool and it has developed 4 or 5, dime-sized rust spots.
@@danielmartin3249 I have tried Vit. C but did not get the results that I wanted from the ascorbic acid. I too have Pebble Tec and worried about finish with the lingering pile of sodium bisulfate, but I was more worried about the rust stain than lightening the pebble tec color. The sodium bisulfate will start to dissolve but I tend to brush it off before it completely dissolves. I think that the pool brush also helps loosen the rust from the surface after the application. Try it out at your own risk, but if you try it, I hope that it works out for you.
The salt in a salt water pool is turned into chlorine by the chlorine generator, so both types of pools have chlorine. The salt does make your skin feel softer, though, and irritates your eyes less. Like saline solution (contacts) on your eyes, lol.
Just used this method on my pool and I can confirm it worked! 10/10 would recommend
Excellent!
How long do you let it set on the rust spot. And when you’re done letting it sit, what do you do? Just swish it up in the pool?

Very clever. Thanks for sharing!
No Problem! I hope that it worked for you!
Can I use this on my pebble tech surface? I can’t tell if that’s what you have.
Thanks
Thanks!
You're Welcome! I hope that it works for you!
is salt water better than chlorine?
