I did the exact same 4 day cruise on Radiance last October. It was my first time on Carnival and I was favorably impressed. Perhaps we didn't have as many passengers. I am booked on Venezia next fall.
@@chowchillachuck that’s fantastic to hear. Glad you enjoyed it. Be sure to check out my Venezia report if you have a chance, that was a wonderful experience on board. Wishing you safe travels for your next cruise.
I going on my 4th Radiance Saliling on April 1-5 I love the Radanice. Have wonderful times everytime I go. I don't eat the Buffett unless it the late night one. Can't wait to go again in a few weeks.
Cake looks yummy!! You know me love my deserts! Your room looked very nice and the fridge was in a weird spot but it served the purpose. Love the green salads too and my steaks and potatoes. Also like a good fried chicken. The whole ship looks beautiful. Love those breakfast burritos. Love the soft serve ice cream as well.
Just went on this cruise a couple of weeks ago. It was my first cruise ever. I would say it was better than expected. And if you have kids, Camp Ocean is a life saver!!! Excellent cheap cruise. I would say that the Ensenada stop was quite uneventful. Not a great spot for exploring.
Oh my God Ty so much! 12:36am and I am looking at your video. Wife, Grandma (my mom), kid(4) and myself are going to have our 1st cruise and I wanna make sure I know what to do/expect. Your video is well done. I watched other videos and so far this is the best one. I'm also Vegan and thankful there is a vegan menu. My wife is happy! We won't eat just salad and fruits (woohoo)
Sailing out of Long Beach on everything from the Holiday,Ecstasy,Paradise,Inspiration and Imagination. I will be sailing on the Radiance for the first time since her renaming from the Victory. This four night cruise is such a convenient getaway regardless of the ship.
Thank you for the great video. I also did a solo cruise on the Radiance. I never noticed the issue with the restroom on the Lido. Actually, I thought the buffet was really good 😊. Every sailing is different.
Well that is great to hear. Yeah, perhaps it was a newer issue with the Lido restroom, but it was an unfortunate one. Thrilled to know you enjoyed your solo cruise. Have you done other ships solo?
I started cruising on Carnival, and they have the best included food. I’ve since moved on to Princess cruises I feel like they have exceptional value in their plus and premiere packages. I like the more chill vibe on Princess, but I only cruise the newer ships 🛳⚓️🛟
Sailed out Miami on her when she was the Victory. She was at capacity, but didn’t experience any crowding. My only problem was leaving my passport at home, but Carnival bent over backward to get me a suitable substitute and I made my 4pm sailing with time to spare. I didn’t notice the dinning room stench that you described, that could be an indication of the ship’s age, or the lack of regular cleaning.
@divox9pqr How did Carnival bend over backward to get you a suitable substitute instead of a passport, just curious !!! Would like to know in case it happens to me one day ??? Thankyou.
Was on this ship when it was the Carnival Victory. It was in it's first season. Don't like the ships being refit. They took out lounges and put in more staterooms. They failed to create more space. During the day it is included on the Italian restaurant. They also serve breakfast there and that is included. Blue Iguana has a pretty good breakfast. Carnival has very good pizza. Don't like pepperoni. Have a soft serve ice cream while waiting on line for pizza. Prefer fixed seating for dinner. Breakfast is now open seating. The Fitness Center is nice. The casino is always a nice place to go. What I like about Carnival is they do a lot for veterans. Getting the feeling of being in the way happens a lot on the ships that get redone and you are left with more passengers and little room.
And I’d love to know how it feels to you having been on the previous version. Another viewer commented that the renovations did make it more crowded to them because they sacrificed public spaces for more staterooms as well. Hearing that after the fact made a lot more sense.
I was on the victory And love the ship After the dry dock I was very disappointed The food was bad Service was not good I took my mother on ship and was stock by how rude people on top deck We felt unsafe because two ladies was yelling at each other and also about hit each other The staff was stop them I been on 50 plus cruises I was surprise how top deck had rust and mix new and old parts I
If you liked the Panorama, I would say book the new Firenze ship now at the port of Long Beach. Brand new (by Carnival's repurposing) and much more elegant and better themed. The layout is VERY similar to Panorama. The main difference being the lido deck is mostly covered with lots of shaded spaces.
It's small and food is meh 😑 if it's your first time it's great like mine was but if you've been on any other ship it's a let down. My wife says it's not nice at all and she's been on 7 cruises
You can book on any ship a stateroom for yourself. It’s just that you’re usually paying a singles supplement and paying for two instead of one. Sometimes they drop this supplement as the cruise gets closer and they have inventory to fill.
I went on Radiance last May. I did enjoy it, but you were far too kind to the buffet. What a disappointment that was. On the positive side, I enjoyed the pizza, burgers, and MDR.
Carnival has now moved to once a day cleanings. (Used to be twice) And it takes a little longer to get off at a place like Catalina because you have to get on smaller boats from the ship to get to the island. But it's usually orderly and everyone takes a "group number". At a port where the ship pulls up alongside a dock it's usually less than 5-10 mins to get off as they have to scan everyone's cards as they leave.
Wow!!! How did you score such a fantastic price? I wanna sail on the same cruise in Nov 2024, 😮and I'm thinking of waiting until the week before to book to get a great deal. Any thoughts?
I really lucked out. Of course, you run the risk of it being booked out by waiting that long. Typically about three months from sail I find the best deals.
I was on victory 4 times And enjoy each trip I did the ship after dry dock and I was disappointed I would tell customers stay away The dry dock was bad Rust on top deck Old and new items mix together The staff was not friendly The ship lost its spirit I feel carnival did big mistake by taking away the victory name
I've heard this a few times now from people who have cruised pre and post dry dock. Fascinating that upgrades and "more" doesn't always mean better. Thanks for sharing your perspective.
@@SoloCruiseTravel your welcome The ship was my favorite I was torn apart to watch great ship go down hill The last time I was on ship with my mother We shock over how bad the ship looked Rust and damage goods on ship after dry dock was sad to watch
(of a menu or restaurant) listing or serving food that can be ordered as separate items, rather than part of a set meal for a fee. "an à la carte menu"
It has a crazy bad smell on the front of the serenity deck. You cant wnjoy the most quiet and intamate part of rhe ship becuse it smells like corroding yak cheeks
Perhaps you’ll feel differently on board. But as I mentioned in the video, go with one of the other Carnival ships out of the same port. You’ll probably enjoy it more and it’ll likely be similar in price. Happy cruising!
Have you ever done a Carnival Cruise out of Long Beach, CA? Did you have a different experience than I did on the Carnival Radiance??

More rooms added and removing public space is exactly what it felt like.
