You've NEVER BEEN ON A WATERSLIDE??? Great video, Corey. RUclips suggested it to me first thing when I started the app this afternoon. P.S: I looooove Blue Iguana!
Thanks for the tour. I'm going on this ship in December. Wanted a quicky out of a port that's near me, and this fit the bill. I'm a fan of the smaller/older ships, too.
I have not watched the video yet, but my wife and I went on this ship in March, we absolutely loved it! Sure it’s not the greatest thing out there, but for the price, and the relaxation time we had, it was fantastic! Definitely enjoyed it.
I went on the paradise in 2014. It was a fun trip. I kinda liked that it was older and smaller personally. I check up on it every few years, and I'm always a little surprised it's still in service and not scrapped yet. Not because I think it should be, but because older ships days are always numbered.
Just went on Paradise in July. It was great! Comfy room and I spent most of my time at serenity. Soaking up rays and being lazy. I really like the fantasy class ships.
We sailed aboard the Paradise about 10 years ago. Where the watewrworks is now was simply the adt pool deck. Our group, 32 of us in all, enjoyed that totally uninhabited space for our entire cruise. Great memories!
Wow! We took the paradise on our Honeymoon cruise April 2018! Other than the fact that my luggage never made it on board, that was the best cruise we ever had. We still talk to our Cruise director to this day from that Cruise
We went on the Paradise in July, I absolutely loved it because it's small and I can walk it much better than I can on the larger ships, being a Senior Citizen, it's perfect. My only complaint had nothing to do with the ship, but I don't plan on EVER sailing to the Bahamas in the summer again 😂 I'll stick to the winter and spring.
Corey, BUC'EES!!!!! We just sailed the Elation and found the same problem with magnets. The shower was the same although the curtain needed to be a few inches longer. The space at the top of the ship, at least on the Elation could be used for a Steakhouse. It seemed to be wasted space. We did NOT miss the big screen.
I enjoy Carnival's smaller ships. They have most of the things I want to do and eat and it is easy to embark and disembark. Yes not having the steakhouse is the one thing I miss when traveling on this class of Carnival ships. Great review of the Carnival Paradise.
We were on the boat the cruise before you, it wasn’t just a medical emergency. They couldn’t pull one of the lifeboats back onto the ship in Nassau. It went down while in the port but they had to rebuild the winch to get it back on. The air conditioning in our room broke the first night and was off for most of the next day. I got some really nasty stuff in my sandwich from the lido. I pulled what looked like a black tree out of it. Our dining room staff was rude as they could be, and our dinners in the dining room weren’t much. The only thing we really liked was the Szechuan shrimp the first night. Our toilet didn’t work the first day either and the whole area around our room smelled like a septic tank. We had a horrible cruise, glad you had a good time. We wish we hadn’t went unfortunately waste of money.
We had a similar experience on our one cruise with Carnival on Splendor. We our now cruisers in Royal Caribbean and looking forward to our 8th cruise with Royal.
Went on the paradise when it was brand new. That's when it was the only smoke free ship. That didn't last very long because the alcohol and casino underperformed.
Looks like a great getaway! Recall when the ship first came out it had the designation of being the only smoke-free cruise ship - however that didn't last very long! All The Best!
We liked the Paradise but I had a scooter and was tough to get out to the side decks, only one up n over and scooter got stuck. At least could go through the aft area to get to Serenity. Loved it there. Nice cruise but not built for scooters.
❤❤❤❤ Maybe now you will make it a habit to ALWAYS check any drinking glasses or cups before you pour your beverages in them and always look at your silverware and plates. ❤❤❤✌🏼
My family just did the Carnival Elation (sister to the Paradise) and for a cheap cruise we really enjoyed it and would cruise on the Elation or Paradise again. We tried the Icon of the seas and like the newness but overall felt it was too crowded with long long lines everywhere and they charge you for everything. We all agreed that Carnival has better included food but the pay extra food on Icon was better.
We were on Royal Carribean's Harmony of the Seas docked in Cozumel right next to the Carnival Paradise. The difference in size was comical. It made the Carnival ship look like a rusty old tugboat. We cruised Carnival once, and that was enough. We've been on eight Royal Caribbean cruises since.
We were on Carnival Jubilee last week in Cozumel and it made Harmony of the seas look so small everyone on that ship were looking up at us in disbelief.
I love the Carnival Paradise. I live in St Pete and I have been on this ship over 15 times. She is small and might not offer all the glam a new ship does, but I love being on the water without 5000 people on their cell phones or lap tops. I will miss her when she's gone.
Cory: I was surprised when you mentioned that your magnetic hooks were not adhering to the walls very well. I assumed that you know that those hooks come in several strengths. I have some that I got from Amazon. They are VERY strong to the point of needing quite a pull to pull them off of the wall. I have been on the Paradise and enjoyed. it a lot. I am not one for crowds. No desire to sail on the "mega" ships. Too many people and, to me, loses the intimacy. Just off of the Carnival Miracle to Alaska. Also an older ship. But, I saw people several times throughout the cruise which I liked. Love your videos and hope to see you sometime on one of the cruises. Don H Ocala Fl
Thanks! This sounds like the perfect cruise for people like me, except I would get a balcony. I don't care about entertainment and the fewer people the better. FYI: Carnival prohibits travel routers. Next time you might get it confiscated when you board.
I just went on this shop Dec 5 older ship yes but it was clean … I didn’t have to clean or cook … great time … and this was my 11 th cruise this year usually out of port canaveral my daughter and enjoyed our time NO complaints
Paradise was my very first cruise in 2002. Still good memories of that ship and cruise. With cruise #42 coming up in this coming December I pretty much only cruise now with Celebrity and Holland America. As I get older I want more relaxing time, fewer children and more exotic itineraries. That being said, I never had a bad experience on the 12 CCL vessels that have cruised on in the past.
I don’t think Carnival is going to scrap the last two Fantasy Class ships in the next few years. Why? Because they are only five cruise ships in the whole company overall can do a North Atlantic Crossing. QM2, the last two R classes in Holland Americas fleet and the two Fantasy class ships.?
I would like that ship because it is smaller and has most of what I do on a cruise anyway. I have 2 cruises scheduled on smaller Carnival ships not the mega ships. Looks like it was a good cruise overall. I've been to those two ports so I probably would also stay on the ship and enjoy the port day.
Lol you should see Mardi Gras pool deck. Full of holes and cones everywhere. Extremely disappointing to see how poor that ship looked being only a few years old. They made a huge mistake taking out the real wood deck and replacing with the vinyl.
Our first cruise was Elation 2019. Wonderful experience. We did our second in Mardi Gras. Honestly each ship has it's own unique flavor. We met so many great people on Elation and the rest of cruise we continued to meet those people. On Mardi Gras only once did we run into a couple from the pool rest of the 7 days. Like you said don't knock the little ships. They both were fun.😊
Your review is spot on. We live north of Tampa and have sailed on her 4 or 5 times, with another in September 2025. Great little getaway ship with a loyal following, but I feel MAS Islander will quicken her final departure?
Never been on a cruise but I’d love to one day I travel alone a lot, it’s difficult to organise holidays with my friends and families work schedules Would you recommend a solo cruise?
Hi, I know you're asking Corey, but I'll chime in here. I've gone on several solo cruises, as I'm single. I went on a Carnival cruise earlier this year and had a blast. I've also done solo cruises on NCL and had a lot of fun. You will meet fun and interesting people, assuming you're not an introvert. It's a great time and I highly recommend it.
I have no issue with the older ships because they keep them clean and they are often cheaper to travel on.....The only ships are some newer ones ( I think they are mainly in Europe) where there is a big deck for bathing but the pool is tiny....That is the worst design ever !!!!! If I had a comfortable cabin, some food and a pool then I am good to go.
The one thing I love about cruising is that they don’t are if you order from the kids or the adult menu just ask and it helps me because I am a bit fussy because of my sensory issues I have around eating some times I order from the adult menu and sometimes from the kids.
First Carnival Cruise we went on was the Tropicale in 1999. It was a smaller ship, but everyone's first cruise in my party so it seemed fairly large for us. Had alot to do and we had fun. Only thing that was bad was the first day the ocean was rough and alot of people were getting seasick.
Hello and thank you for your review!! I watched it because we are scheduled on the OLDEST PRINCESS cruise ship “The Princess Grand” to Hawaii from Los Angeles in Feb/March 2025. I've had a difficult time finding recent reviews!! Have you ever cruised on Princess or the "Princess Grand" by any chance? Our daily is $209/pp for a 11th floor/Baha Deck balcony cabin. I booked this cruise about a year ago. I've priced several different cruise lines and different options like flying to HI and then taking the island hopper "NCL Pride of America" (which is also old). The price ends up being much higher because we are still paying for a cruise to the islands and rt air fare to/from Hawaii - Arizona. We are both golfers and our goal was to play golf in Hawaii on a few different islands. If we fly to Hawaii it would cost much more than the $209/pp pd and we are stuck paying huge resort costs, rental cars, food/drink and golfing on the same island. If you have any suggestions please let me know as we have until Nov 20th to cancel :)
My favorite ship! not overcrowded, good food, great music, hate Giant Tvs blaring at pool on other ships! oh and love all outside decks. Always see the water. Hate the new center ship promenade. Feel trapped in a mall in those ships
You mentioned the Carnival Jubilee. We sailed on the original in June 1990 for our honeymoon, and were saddened to hear it was sold for scrap years later. However, it's nice to know that there's a NEW "Jubilee" - the first (similar to the size of the Paradise) was a dream. (Edit: Good to see a shot of this!)
You are absolutely correct about the burgers on this ship. We have sailed several Carnival ships including this one multiple times, we got a couple of Guys Burgers and could not eat them because they were burnt to a crisp. A few days later at about 2:00 in the afternoon we were sitting at a quiet table in the buffet area playing cards when all of a sudden the entire buffet area filled with smoke curling down about two feet from the ceiling. With our eyes burning and having trouble breathing we packed up and left. On our way out we found the source of the smoke, they were burning the crap out of the burgers at Guys.
Fun facts: The main lido deck pool used to have a waterslide, its was removed during a refurbishment. The back pool was removed in favor of the water park.
I don't think they will be scrapping the Paradise anytime soon , it's one of two of the only Carnival ships that can fit under the bridge. Unless they are dropping Tampa
I went on the Carnival Magic probably 5 years ago now and have a laundry list of things that happened/went wrong. One of the most notable would be the tip of a pen in my drink. Yes you read that correctly…

Been on this ship many times. It’s a good little ship. Though a bit dated. Only problem I had was the people smoking weed in the rooms the past couple times. Made the entire floor reek. I don’t care if people smoke weed. You do you. Buy do it outside. Plenty of outside spaces.
Somehow septic smells and icky food don’t sound like small things…you get what you pay for…uner $100.00 a day doesn’t get top quality on land or sea…no thank you!
You've NEVER BEEN ON A WATERSLIDE??? Great video, Corey. RUclips suggested it to me first thing when I started the app this afternoon. P.S: I looooove Blue Iguana!
Thanks Morgan! One of these days there will be a water slide. Just waiting on the right one. ☝🏼
Did you go back to Guys Burger and let them know how bad your burger was. I'm sure your burger would have been much better.
We live in Tampa and jump on the Paradise a lot. She's old and small, but a lot of fun!
I went on the paradise 2 years ago. It’s old and a little worn but I still enjoyed my trip
what a great review...you did a super job
Thanks
I really appreciate that 💚

The Paradise is such an incredible ship, carnival built their ships so elegantly back then and it makes the experience so much nicer in my opinion.

Great & thorough review! Cruising the Paradise on a 6 day at the end of October. Thanks for setting my expectations!
Thanks for watching. Enjoy your cruise!
Took my family on the Paradise this year. Everyone loved it. My kids did Banana splits everyday.
The paradise is one of my favorite ships. I will miss the Fantasy Class ships when they are gone.

Great video Corey, we've been on the Paradise a couple of times years ago. We thought it was a decent ship.
Went on Paradise one week ago. The boarding process took 45min.
Thanks for the review Captain Corey 👍. We may have to try Carnival 😀
Looks like a great getaway! Recall when the ship first came out it had the designation of being the only smoke-free cruise ship - however that didn't last very long! All The Best!

😂 finally someone saw
❤❤❤❤ Maybe now you will make it a habit to ALWAYS check any drinking glasses or cups before you pour your beverages in them and always look at your silverware and plates. ❤❤❤✌🏼
I think you’re right about that!
We just get some of the plastic cups from the buffet to use. Never have used a glass from a cruise ship or motel room ...ever.
Will never do a Carnival cruise again!! Felt like we were In the Ghetto!!! Horrible cruise, crappy ship and just a bunch of nasty and rude people!
We were on Carnival Jubilee last week in Cozumel and it made Harmony of the seas look so small everyone on that ship were looking up at us in disbelief.
I enjoyed my cruise and recommend to my family & friends.
Live near Tampa. Been on the Paradise several times and has always been a good time!
I spent 10 days aboard the Paradise in 2017 on a Panama Canal cruise from Tampa. Really enjoyed my time on the Paradise. Great review !.

I took my kids on the Paradise about 20 years ago. Back then the Paradise was a non-smoking cruise ship.
I sail all lines and some of the best were on Carnivals smaller ships. The Carnival Imagination was probably the best cruise I have done

It still has the big no smoking sign on the side of the ship. They painted it white. But it’s there.

Just imagine, this class of ship was once the largest size wise. This was also the only smoke free cruise ship at one time.
Paradise was my very first Carnival cruise ship back in 2008! Definitely some additions since then. I do like the smaller ship experience as well.
Nice review. Thanks.
Love the Buc-ee's cup!

You may want to use your Bucee's cup for your soda.
On Carnival Elation, they do a Steakhouse service by the pool. Best Carnival steak I've had.
Thanks for the info!
Carnival Paradise has sailings scheduled and available to book into 2027 already, I don’t think she’s getting scrapped any time soon…
Did you have to buy the ships wifi for the router to work?
Love the detail!
This past May I went on my first solo cruise (Belize, Honduras, Mexico). It was for 5 days. The Paradise was the perfect size ship. I didn't feel overwhelmed, the gym was solid, and I recommend getting The Chef's Table. The meals served are unique and delicious! The experience deserved the $90 price tag.
When we were docked next to other ships, you can see a significant difference is size, and some amenities. Regardless, The Paradise offered experiences that were memorable.
I'd recommend The Paradise for a solo traveler.
If you don’t book an early time to board you’ll walk right on, never taken more than thirty minutes to board.
They said the person passed away so we where stuck in nassau for 7 extra hours i believe we didnt leave till like 11 pm

Ironic, since the Carnival Paradise started out as a Non-smoking ship.
Walmart Class cruises gonna have burners.
Shockingly I didn’t smell any on this cruise.
Been on 8 Carnival Cruises and have never once smelt weed or felt it was low class. Silly comment @@williamboyle8918
Hi! Ver nice review. So does the hundred dollars per day include everything? Thanks
Yes everything! Parking, & WiFi too.
I sailed this ship on its 2 nd sailing . Sometime in the 90’s
Buc-ees 🎉🎉
can't do that one again- bad- even worse, the elation
How does the portable router work on a ship?
Did u find any rubber ducks?
How much was your single supplement for traveling solo?
Somehow septic smells and icky food don’t sound like small things…you get what you pay for…uner $100.00 a day doesn’t get top quality on land or sea…no thank you!
Wait wait wait. A travel router? Does that mean I don’t need to pay for ship wifi and I can just bring that? I’m so confused haha
Paradise and elation are small but great ships.
"overly sweet" then orders banana split 😂
There Is a sushi
The gamblers go for basically nothing upfront. Then they (we) lose $5,000.00 in the casino!!
🤷🏽♂️ but we might win.
