It really depends, some people really are a victim. I was on section 8 food stamps, parents were immigrants and never went to school, lived in the hood. all that and I made it out luckily. But I knew people who never had a chance where I was from. Some of them had single parents, and their mom was drugged out, they had section 8 and food stamps like me but they had like 8-10 people in the house. They walk outside and it’s non stop gang violence. Only difference was my mom was able to keep me on a straight path, their parents were f’ed up. Their siblings were getting them jumped and shot because of their problems. This is one of the reasons I don’t believe that no one is a victim mind set from people of privileged position. I remember talking to my girlfriends family who lived in a richer neighborhood from me and went to a different high school, and they were complaining how “ghetto” their school was and how bad it was. That’s when I realize you can’t explain to these people because my gf would always tell me how hard her family had it while they living in a single family house in a suburb. Which is fair because I get in her eyes they weren’t considered rich in their neighborhood. Which makes them think they had it rough. But they don’t know what’s it like to really be down. I would say I was literally at the bottom of the barrel living in poverty, but I was in a situation where my family helped me by not dragging me down obviously it’s kinda hard to get guidance from parents who’s never been to elementary school or any proper education. But at least I wasn’t getting shot at every week because my brothers gang banging or my moms cracked out not caring if I went to school. Trust and believe when I tell you there are victims. And unless you at the bottom of the barrel you wouldn’t understand. I was broke just like all the other kids in the hood and didn’t even speak the same language but I had enough positive things to keep me out the hood, some people don’t, and I don’t expect someone who think they had it hard to understand especially not someone like Matthew Mcconaughey. Now if you had mike Tyson up there, who’s from the hood and mom and sisters were literally prostitutes, than I’ll listen. But not no soft ass mcconaughey lol gtfo here. If you really had it rough you wouldn’t think like this.
The truth is always the truth regardless of who is speaking it. I can argue that I've had a harder life than you, having lived my whole life in Nigeria but I recognize that everyone has their own life's challenges to go through. victim definitions, a person harmed, injured, sacrificed or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action. a person who is tricked or duped. a person who has come to feel helpless and passive in the face of misfortune or ill-treatment.
my only problem in life is i couldn't find the path i want for myself, struggle is good but the worst thing can happen to you is feeling lost, hope i find my path and the strength to walk it
Yes! I needed to hear this. Life is supposed to be hard. It's not a bed of roses. Studying is hard for students, job is hard for employees, responsibilities are hard for human. That's how it goes.
This is usually said by rich dudes who have nothing to complain about. Right, rich and white guy, I will follow your advice, because you clearly never experienced the entitlement "trap" in your life. ;) But seriously, stop trying to make yourself feeling better by telling others how to live their lives or deal with trauma. Every person does so differently, and that is fine. Oh, and life is beautiful, you just don't want others to see that because then you can't pander to their insecurities. Chill, work hard, but realize that you don't have to suffer to achieve happiness and live a beautiful life. People who tell you so have a chip on their shoulder.
But its differnt for everyone to deal with anxiety stress ,each person has different problem but at end no matter what comes you have to keep going its okay to take rest and but you have start again this is life it waits for nobody it keeps on moving
Life is not simple? Life's not fair? Just bcs you haven't learned how to live life, doesn't mean life is not simple 😁 You spend your whole life thinking about either the past or the future, there's no way life is gonna be simple for you and that is the reason why your happiness is temporary. Try to find who you are, try to be who you are, don't try to become something. The only reality is now, everything else is either a memory or imagination -Osho.
What he said is a truism of life. It's true when said by a hobo or a rich actor. And if you all can't accept that, then indignity and self entitlment might just be the reason for all your collective misfortunes. And, maybe if you moved on, got over that hang up maybe you could be more influential than even Matthew McConaughey.
This is anything but motivational for me, all this does is reinforce the exact reason I’m depressed. Literally what is the point in living if everything is so hard and will always be hard? For those tiny few and far moments of joy after all that suffering? It’s not worth it. I really don’t see a point in living because life is 99% suffering for everyone and it won’t get better as this guy says we’ve just got to ‘live with it’ so might aswell not live with it and kill myself.
I don't think you should kill yourself but I agree with what you're saying other than that. This point only makes me feel discouraged. And on my worst days that come a couple times a month, this would be the last thing I'd want to hear. No one is being a victim we are simply admitting what's the point of feeling so much hardship? This video is dumb in my opinion

“When we mentally give a person, place, or point in time more credit than ourselves, we create a fictitious ceiling. A restriction over the expectations that we have over our own performance in that moment. We get tense. We focus on the outcome instead of the activity and we miss the doing of the deed. We either think the world depends on the result or it's too good to be true. But it doesn't and it isn't. And it's not our right to believe it does or is. Don't create imaginary constraints. A leading role, a blue ribbon, a winning score, a great idea, the love of our life, euphoric bliss... Who are we to think we don't deserve these fortunes when they're in our grasp? Who are we to think we haven't earned them? If we stay and process within ourselves, in the joy of the doing, we will never choke at the finish line. Why? Because we're not thinking of the finish line. We're not looking at the clock. We’re not watching ourselves on the Jumbotron performing. We are performing in real time where the approach is the destination.” -Matthew McConaughey, Greenlights

If you really had it rough you wouldn’t think like this.
this comment is precious ❤

You’re absolutely right
Spot on!
The truth is always the truth regardless of who is speaking it. I can argue that I've had a harder life than you, having lived my whole life in Nigeria but I recognize that everyone has their own life's challenges to go through. Stop hating on other people because you think they are more fortunate than you. No one should apologize for having an easier life than other people when they had nothing to do with it. Americans can come across as entitled a lot of the time

Wow tysm this was so unhelpful
I wanna say one thing I've been through horrible stuff in my life. Abuse, SA, you name it. But when you take a look at the bigger picture almost more than half the world have been through some ugly unthinkable things. It's very hard to get through life when there are some many monster in this world. But the more you keep your head up an don't let them turn you into a monster aswell. You'll see there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. You become more awear of the dangerous in this world an what you can do to help another in the same situation. See there is always a solution at the end of a problem, the question is are you we'll to go through the extreme hardship to fix the problems. To stand up an love one another no matter the color, age, race, and ethnicity I believe all humans were here to help one another. An we let this world get destroyed turned into a ugly place by are own hands, just take moment to reflect on how you act an view life, ask yourself is it truely right?
Life has never been fair or equal, lifes about the winners, you arent a victim you are a potentiol winner on their way to the top! Do not let yourself loose.

I get what hes saying but life isnt that simple either. Some people really get pummeled. Endlessly.
You can argue that they are stronger than most then. What they've been through makes the reward that much more rewarding. Whatever awful things you've been through, dwelling in the victim mentality is never the right option.
It’s really that simple.

victim definitions,
a person harmed, injured, sacrificed or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action.
a person who is tricked or duped.
a person who has come to feel helpless and passive in the face of misfortune or ill-treatment.
I will remember this throughout my life..thanks
Edit:i really used to think that i was victim but i will change
This is so good it hit the kokoro 😢

i’m happy rn, i don’t need a guy telling me that my life sucks
This isnt advice for you then.
Oh thank you for this❤
This is usually said by rich dudes who have nothing to complain about. Right, rich and white guy, I will follow your advice, because you clearly never experienced the entitlement "trap" in your life. ;)
But seriously, stop trying to make yourself feeling better by telling others how to live their lives or deal with trauma.
This is directed at people whove lost all hope and are currently in the victim mentality
But its differnt for everyone to deal with anxiety stress ,each person has different problem but at end no matter what comes you have to keep going its okay to take rest and but you have start again this is life it waits for nobody it keeps on moving
Agreed!
I knew someone would say this lmao
Life doesn’t owe you anything. Sometimes u need to earn it and stay at it to keep it.

Came for the girl but stayed for the advice😅
Life is not simple? Life's not fair? Just bcs you haven't learned how to live life, doesn't mean life is not simple 😁 You spend your whole life thinking about either the past or the future, there's no way life is gonna be simple for you and that is the reason why your happiness is temporary. Try to find who you are, try to be who you are, don't try to become something.
The only reality is now, everything else is either a memory or imagination -Osho.
I've never met you and probably never will. But I love you for saying this.
I love when those words come out of the mouths of the most pampered people on earth lol
For real 😭
Maybe he wasn’t always pampered
Life’s not fair and it never will be. Move on with it and get on with it. Because if you don’t, think of what else can and will happen.
You love him? Marry him
What he said is a truism of life. It's true when said by a hobo or a rich actor. And if you all can't accept that, then indignity and self entitlment might just be the reason for all your collective misfortunes.
And, maybe if you moved on, got over that hang up maybe you could be more influential than even Matthew McConaughey.
this is basically saying “even if you are going through hell, keep going”
That is a beautiful Doctor.

god damn man its 3 30 am and im studying about sperm, I needed this thank you
This is anything but motivational for me, all this does is reinforce the exact reason I’m depressed.
Try to make it easy for others and maybe someone will make it easy for you too.
I don't think you should kill yourself but I agree with what you're saying other than that. This point only makes me feel discouraged. And on my worst days that come a couple times a month, this would be the last thing I'd want to hear. No one is being a victim we are simply admitting what's the point of feeling so much hardship? This video is dumb in my opinion
all the best 22n4
the thing is, it is worth it. the fact you have the desire to feel happiness is enough to keep going. You decide your future, you got this bruv.
Hard work fulfills you. Walking through life never challenging yourself to be better or achieve goals will leave you unfulfilled. Use this as advice to chase your dreams and work to get them
So true I needed to hear that. The world don’t care about your set backs.
I’m leaving full time college to go work full time in business as a consultant. I realise that may cause me to not be a great candidate for future jobs so I took the work grind and I’m also going to sit my exams in 2024 with the money I earn and earn the grades and still have a great stable job in a good company
