How to Break 70 with Lady Pro - THIS IS MORE RELEVANT TO YOU & ME THAN THE PGA TOUR

    . I played golf with Pro mo AND HIS OLDER SISTER - Pro Bo - in Chiang Mai at North Hill Golf Club. She shows us how to break par and break 70 like a BAUS. I think you will see your own game in here, and what it could potentially be!
    The track is superb and Pro Bo is ranked 19th in Thailand. She plays in Japan and Thailand. What is important with this video is the fact she hits the ball similar distances and plays off a relatable distance for us, at 6400 yards.

    We get too lost in the Delusion of Grandeur caused by the PGA Tour - the weird obsession with this designated number of '300' for some reason. We try beat the ball as hard as we can. We think we need to hit it to 6 feet like the highlights reel. We think we have to make birdies when par on any hole for most golfers is EXCEPTIONAL.
    Look at Bo:
    She swings smooth. She never smashes it.
    She controls her mood and tempo and emotions. This is so key. She never gets frazzled. She never calls herself a loser for missing a green or not hitting a GREAT shot.
    She knows the next hole is an opportunity. She knows that she just needs to keep swinging and making the right choices.
    What you'll notice is she uses very few clubs in the round. Driver, wedge, fairway woods and some chips. She is a playa. She sets up her approaches to the distances she likes and she is CONFIDENT with the wedges.
    Today was a cold putting day which can happen, but if she holed a couple more here and there or avoided the tuba, it could have been an effortless, smooth swinging joyful 67.
    What I took out of this round was she never EVER loses her head. She stays calm and smiling and relaxed always. She swings so smooth, she is conscientious on her short game and she makes it look effortless.
    This round got me wanting to play golf again after a 5-6 week layoff where I recovered from injuries and did nothing about golf.
    I want to thank Bo and mo and North Hill for the golf and the inspiration. I like you guys a lot and can't wait to see you again.

    What you said towards the end is very true - I’ve only recently started getting in to golf and excluding putting 90% of my shots are using either 5 wood, 6 iron or wedge and I thinks it really helps in not worrying too much about distance but just consistently getting a nice clean purchase on the ball. Not that I get that enough but working on it!

    This is a fantastic video. I could not agree more with you, that the ladies game is SO MUCH more relateable than the men's game-which is completely unrelatable on nearly every level. I went to the ladies Canadian Open last year and was in awe of what I saw. Exactly like this video here. Control. Tempo. Consistency. And more smiles than like a year of watching the men's game. As a long time golfer, I fully knew the ladies on the LPGA Tour were of course fantastic. However, they were even better than that in person. So I really enjoyed this video, and I completely agree with your perspective.

    Her numbers are pretty similar to my own. I'm maybe a club longer at most. I've found hitting through the ball as opposed to at the ball has made such a difference in my ball striking. Dropped 6 strokes this year from an 11 down to a 5.

    You are right on with this video. I volunteer as a walking scorer for the LPGA and have marveled at the smoothness of swings while still hitting long shots. Their approaches have excellent distance control and their putting is excellent. The difference between players winning the tournaments and those farther back in the pack is extremely small. I have learned much from watching these players up close.

    Loved the video, but not a fan of your golf pro recommendations. Your videos cured me of so many issues that were CREATED by lessons with golf pros over the years. Most (not all) pros are the epitome of the one-size-fits-all approach to the golf swing. After lessons with four different ones over ten years, I embraced my swing with all its flaws, and, using your approach to playing the game, have enjoyed some really rewarding golf of late.

    • @GolfSidekick
      @GolfSidekick  5 лет назад

      I understand that - but that's why I always recommend get the golf pro who is reputable among people you know. A dude who helped them in one lesson. No swing makers. Just a honest pro who gets you having fun immediately.
      If you have a swing that works and you're happy with it then no need. but some people literally cannot get the ball to even reach the fairway. They can't hit an iron off the ground. They hit every club 90 yards cos they slash across it so badly 6 iron down to wedge, all 90 yards. I've seen this with my own eyes and ONE lesson with a reputable pro and their stuff was fixed.

  • @mmckivigan
    @mmckivigan 4 года назад

    Her backswing is slow and deliberate, nothing jerky, this sets the tempo. Swinging the club back too fast makes the transition harder. Downswing is steady acceleration with the little crack of the whip at impact and finishes in control without a bunch of bouncing recoil at the end. Yeah, she’s got the groove - her swing is AWESOME. It’s a good model for the rest of us.

    "hit your driver better. hit your fairway woods better". that is the long game strokes gained message isn't it? still need a short game, but it just has to be not bad to score okay if you found 12 fairways and 12 greens. the flat stick does need to work for the great scores.
    hitting the driver better is definitely possible for most of us. big 460cc head. a tee. flat tee box. can always keep the 460cc head and go a little shorter, a little more loft, a little heavier shaft to increase the odds of getting something useable off the tee.
    hitting the fairway woods in a way that is truly useful.. ..is hard because the demand on strike quality is high. long shaft, small head, ball on the ground. lie is not always great. ground is not always flat. hybrids are a little easier to strike well if you don't hit that three wood out of the middle of the head like a pro. true, they don't go quite as far. sometimes that is a good thing..
    I would like to see some quantification of strike quality of pro Bo vs yourself. probably no easy way to do that, but when they say 'hit it on the button', they mean a shirt button sized disk in the middle of your club face. Bo hits that 98% of the time. if you hit that button, smash factor is high and direction and distance are predictable. that is not easy to do and that is why she is a pro.

  • @MikeDoba

    Hitting nothing but fairways and greens is boring golf and you don't get your moneys worth :p .. if only we could all hit that straight that consistently.

In that case, carrying the water with a driver actually seems LESS risky than trying to lay up in between the two bunkers and left water hazard straight off the tee box! Not what I expected from just looking at the layout. That hole would have eaten me alive.

    I've always like watching the LPGA tour for their swings but the last few years they seem to be losing the easy slow swing. I think they are now starting to swing more like the guys and it is not as graceful or fluid. i hope Bo doesn't lose her swing as it is poetry in motion beautiful!

      Golf Sidekick yeah after watching the full video I agree that would be the worst especially at 15:56... absolute Horrible swing... no worries at least you got a swing (my swing is way worse) a few slo mo’s wouldn’t hurt thou, still thumbs up and a new sub for ya, not a bad video overall 👍🏼

      @@sickieday I think something like Mo doing that on his channel would work because he has a great swing and can explain it. I know nothing about the swing. And doing swings in slo-mo can really cause your brain to overload. You will find all the flaws possible

      Golf Sidekick I accidentally left out the lol meaning it was a joke, no offence, everything in my swing is a flaw, every millimeter of it, makes me want to quit golf all of the time but I love the game, but yeah this video is a guide on how to play the game with an already established swing, for me this video is motivation not to quit and to get back out there, the first swing by the pro I wish had slo mo that’s all, I had to rewatch that 5/6 times because of how effortless the swing was, I couldn’t believe, anyway looking forward to the next video mate, keep up the good work 👍🏼
