  • I test the snare and floor tom sensitivity knobs to see how pad response changes while adjusting the sensitivity knobs on the Alesis Strike Pro

Thank you so much for this video. I'm very picky with drums and need a electric kit for practicing at night/early AM. I think you should get some compensation from Alesis since I'm about to go get one of these kits over the other lead brands.
Thanks again for the very descriptive video on these tedious settings!

you're welcome! I'm working on a new video now that I've had it for over a couple of years to see how it's held up.

I actually sensitivity knob at noon on the middle and then adjust in the module from there. Seems to catch all hits correctly.

as far as i know, it just affects the dynamic response of the pad, in a similar way the trigger curves work.

Karpis Maksudian no, it doesn’t but you can still adjust the sensitivity with the module.

Hey jason, id like to buy extra cymbals and use the Tom rims as cymbals is that possible since each Tom only has one plug in jack?

pse hunter yes, you can setup the Tom rims as cymbals. That’s what I do, I setup the rim on the 8” Tom to be a splash.

I don't know if those pads have a sensitivity knob, but the module will have a sensitivity setting. of course, the knob and module settings for the Strike Pro serve 2 different purposes.

Hi Jason, I'm having some issues with my snare. When i play it i sometimes hear a snapping sound. Any ideas how to solve it or which settings you would advise? Thanks

It might be the trigger pad inside the snare. There's a plastic piece that the cones are mounted to inside the snare and mine cracked. I had to repair it with packing tape. If you remove the head and check, make sure to put the snare on the floor first because if you remove it while it's on the snare stand, the whole bottom will just fall off!
