Ah yes, Meridia. There were two types of divers during operation:
1. Those who screamed in terror the entire time barely clinging to their lives
2. Those who brought Eagle Smoke Strike and Breaker Incendiary
Forgot the 3rd, those of us who knew Shriekers can't hit you if you're prone
And the fourth. Those of us who saw fit to bring 4 gatling turrets, and 4 MG turrets, and a shield dome, and create our own little CIWS bubble. It was fucking glorious.
@@asinineintentions7773I will never forget my first Meridia run (mostly how unexpectedly easy it was despite all the doomposting I’d seen while at work :V) ‘nor how fucking awesome it was that A: we were fighting at the TCS site and B: the shriekers coming out of those bigass holes
but even knowing what was coming every extract from that mission was so fucking cool because you still feel like you’re inches away from death even if you’re using the meta tactics

I remember Meridia well. Rolling hills of scarlet broken up by rocky outcroppings. One of my first deployments against the enemies of democracy. Such a shame that the bug menace desecrated it so thoroughly that the only sensible option remaining was the weaponized usage of dark fluid.

It's refreshing to see someone playing this game in a slightly less unhinged fashion that me and my crew do.
I have used the "It is man who is made in God's image, not you creature!" line as a battle cry against a cockroach that turned up in my bathroom. That line is always welcome to live in my head rent-free.

When the Meridia op went, I was in a similar position like Walrus manning an HMG turret when the shriekers came pouring out. As terrifying as it was, I was grateful for both the turret being super effective and the shriekers hanging back while I was on it.

Can say with confidence that the ballistic shield is mad. It doesn't take any damage at all below a certain AP, but also me and a friend tested it by having him drop Eagle Cluster munitions on my head and I (barely) survived by crouching and aiming the shield at the eagle.
Turned my speakers on to listen to this while I do chores but upon hearing "And then they made space Vietnam. Again." I quickly did a 180 and shouted "AGAIN?" I have never done that before
