This video is great! Thank you! I wished I saw your video first Question: Could a damaged 10 pin ribbon to the power & eject button cause the playstation to not turn on as well? I was able to turn on the PS3 Slim with my controller after reassembled.
@@fasttechvideo It's for the thinner one by the fan in a 2001A model, the clip to retain it in place is broken. It's the one by your left pinkie at 15:45 it can be "shimmed" (really more like shoved) in but it's the most temporary of fixes given that moving the console seems to run the risk of the cable coming loose. If the cable itself was broken it would be a far easier fix. Is there any way to replace that specific part and if so what exactly should one look for to replace it with?

The fan side one, not the power supply side one for clarification.

Cannot get the mb to release to replace the thermal paste 🤦♂️. So scared I’m going to crack it.
Finally got it off, and replaced the thermal paste. It’s all back together now and it seems to be running so much better. Thank you for the tutorial!
