Most people know him for his voice, but his true genius was his work as a composer. His library of music is vast, and underrated.

You need to listen to the same song, recorded version. Probably in low light with a glass of wine.

Barry White's singing could bring you out of a coma. So deep, so beautiful. Was privileged to have been a lover of secular music in that Era.

Barry was known as the Maestro. His orchestra was known as the Love Unlimited Orchestra. He conducted them on their instrumentals, with the biggest hit being "Loves Theme"! He was a great musical, vocal arranger and producer.

one of the TRUE-BLUE, all time greats. And I think the real measure of Mr White's greatness, lies in the fact, that NO ONE has been remotely close to filling his shoes...NO ONE. That would be the hardest gig in town, trying to emulate or mimic him. He was a rare breed, because him, Isaac Hayes and Stevie Wonder, created the mold of the singers that produced, wrote, arranged, sang, composed and recorded their own music. Im not exactly sure which one of them, came before the other two...I think it was Isaac, truth be told, who did a ton of production and writing for other artists, before he went solo.
But Barry White was the first black artist, male or female, to sell 100 million records...and he did it BEFORE MIchael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder or Rick James...all of which, were those black performers who were in that elite status among their peers. So, to say that Barry White was a one-off, is the unddrstatement of understatements. And what a beautiful voice this guy had. In the face of all that he could do, playing multiple instruments...THAT VOICE, is what sets him apart from anyone else. And he knew EXACTLY how to use it. Yet another black superstar, who came out of the black church. I can recall a number of interviews where he said that.

The Maestro of Love... I'd venture to say there's many here listening because their parents did!!! A concert that he did at the Hollywood Bowl, Barry's full orchestra was women dressed in white, 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I always wondered what female artist would sound singing together... For you listening pleasure, try listening to Barry & Tina Turner
singing a song "Wildest Dreams"... yes, he was known for singing "those" live songs... He's one of a kind, Lady "V", many of his songs he spoke an intro... Your imitation of his voice was CUTE!!! 🎹🎵🎶🎤

Musician, composer, producer, arranger, conductor! He did it all! His Love Unlimited Orchestra was iconic! His instrumental arrangements were genius! "Loves Theme" was probably his most well known with the orchestra, directed by him, taking center stage!
