@@ReapeeRonactually I apologize I was half wrong, apparently you can get the remnants armor in the same quest line that gives the Gannon armor. Apparently there’s two sets! Also turns out Gannon armor is medium so it wouldn’t be here anyways I guess
The armor you get depends on how you resolve For Auld Lang Syne with Arcade. If you have him stay in Freeside to help out, you get the Ganin Family Tesla Armor, but you'll get the regular remnant armor if you convince him to fight alongside the remnants
It's important to mention that the remnants helmet isn't with the set in the promontory and is found in that cave with legendary cazador on the way to Jackobstown
Take note everyone. If you save in the promintory after killing all of the deathclaws and then load that save, there's a pretty good chance of deathclaws spawning that failed to spawn prior because of a bug. There's also a chance that they'll tear your face off if they do. Also the amount that spawn is dependent on your level. So don't make a save file there.
The Remnants armour is also gained from the quest, either after you kill Moreno and take his set, spare him and get Whitmans set if siding with the NCR or in the legion version you get Canibal Johnstons set when he leaves.
One of the things I find missing in Fallout3 and FNV is: the reason to wear power armor. Back in og Fallouts the best armor in the game was always power armor (some variation of it). Best protection, best stats, and the iconic look - it was a no brainer and finally aquiring it made you happy. In F3/FNV power armor is nerfed so hard, it's basicly meh - it requires special training to wear it, slows down your movement, doesn't give that much protection anymore, repairing is a drag, and I even don't like how it looks now (mostly when in motion). Personally I'd rather pick that Light Touch perk and rock Joshua Graham's armor or Ulysses' duster. How picking some clothes over Iron Man suit makes any sense?
I think you're wrong. Maybe it looks kinda gay, but it does make you basically fucking bullet proof. 36 DT? That asorbs over 1/3 of the strongest rifle in the game.
Yeah i actually downloaded the titans of the west mod to increase your overall stature in PA to the same as fallout 2/fallout 4, and put in a mod to up the damage resistance of them all by quite a bit. I think bufding them is a good idea on pc, because power armor has to contend with the meta luck/light armor crit build which is amazingly good, and not doing such a build normally means you purposely nerfed yourself for style points. I recommend that mod but looking at this list now, i'm kinda sad for the other cool heavy armors that'll get left in the dust a little.
So true. Somehow even in medium armor class there are so many nice and good looking options with just a little bit less DT. I tried stacking DT with implants, toughness perk, advanced riot gear helmet glitch, datura hide chem and results were pretty underwhelming. All the really bad creatures like deathclaws could still ripped me to shreds and white legs with AM rifles/lobotomites with brush guns could still punch through DT. With all that, what's the point to bother with PA training and collecting remnants set?
If you want to play around with power armors but you hate not having the +10% movement speed from Travel Light, get the Travel Light perk anyway and put your armor on a hotkey. You can toggle it off when you know you are about to walk 10 miles and toggle it on when a fight starts.
It is a shame that the Advanced PA Mark 1 has crap HP, but I see it as lore or game balance reasons. Hasn’t been maintained properly, not many people have the know how on fixing it up or it's so the T-51B is the top dog in both DT and HP
That's mostly irrelevant because nothing short of a deathclaw is going to overcome the durability threshold which means the armour doesn't take any health damage from the hundred bullets pinging off from every direction.
The health means nothing if you have Juryrigging, but the rad resistance is nice in searchlight. Unfortunately, the Tesla armor is still better. The strength benefit isn't too useful, since you only need 7 strength to boost up to 10 (fortified spine+implant).
Gecko-backed armors are F- tier as far as I'm concerned because while I can make some use out of a suit of standard or reinforced metal armor very early on, the gecko version requires not only a completely absurd amount of Survival to craft for how earlygame the armors are, but it also requires that you enter Honest Hearts, and at that point you can just yoink the desert ranger set if you're building into DT.
Those sets even look the same as basic ones. I'm totally ok with using subpar equipment if it looks cool, but looks like all time and effort went into Graham's armor and desert ranger's set instead of gecko backed sets.

I would put T-45 in A-Tier, considering it has nighter DT than NCR Ranger Armor and the same as the Desert Ranger Armor, but with double the durability combined with all heavy armor's hidden effect of deteriorating slower, and the strength increase effectively negates the increased weight. Both are strong, and great looking Armor sets, but I have to give the slight advantage to T-45, unless using a VATS sniper build, where the -2 agility makes the Ranger armor a better option. Also, T-51 is without a doubt S-Tier, even ignoring it being the most iconic thing from the series besides vault boy and Deathclaws: the second highest DT in the game paired with the absolute highest durability/item health of any armor arguably makes it better than the Enclave Armor, which is heavier and simply breaks too quickly to be reliable in more combat heavy situations, plus the charisma bonus is nice in a game with quite a few charisma checks.
That other enclave armour looks like Tesla armour and the other looks like the basic kind. You can see the coils on the image. They’re basically the same though, right? I love me a tier list though! I never really use heavy armour, I feel it’s really sluggish!

Regular armor is 10 pounds heavier but also comes with +1 Strength so no difference in terms of weight capacity unless you have 10 strength to start with. I prefer the regular armor on melee characters, but for a ranged character, they're both equally good.

The whole thing about agility in fallout new Vegas regarding action points is a bit deseptive All you have to do is put 7 points into your agility when building your character so that when you hit the minus 1 to agility when using metal armour Which is a junk armour But the T45 D which is way better you only lose 3 Acton points the big bonuses for action points come from the action boy or girl perk that gives you an extra 15 per tier of which their are Two so you can get a bonus of 30 points to your actions points plus if on the standard build of 7 agility you can also get a bonus 1 point via a implant so will a minus 1 agility from a heavy armour build your character can have a base of 86 action points which is respectable the only time heavy armour with the agility penalty is a bad idea is when you are going to the boomers Camp for the first time because if you was to get to the main gate mostly or entirely unscathed by their fire you need to be wearing lightweight armour and have 7 agility points so you can move fast
The reason you had 2 Enclave armors, was because one was "Advanced Power Armor" which was obtainable way sooner then the Enclave Power Armor by simply swimming to a spot across the Colorado River. Also, you forgot that the Ganon Tesla Armor existed.
11:00 Another note, and why I consider the Scorched Sierra Power Armor the best armor in the game: The perk Light Touch only applies to Base Game armors, and Dead Money armors due to the fact that DLCs can't affect each other. Now you may be saying "but doesn't it just affect any armor that's considered Medium or Heavy?" the answer is no. There is a LIST with the perk that only apply to Base Game and Dead Money armors. Meaning that the Scorched Sierra Power Armor (along with any other armors added in any other DLC, so Elite Riot Gear also gets applied to this list). Meaning this is the only set of Power Armor that can get these benefits, (and Armor of the 87th Tribe also gets these bonuses!). So due to these bonuses, which Light Touch is one of the ONLY REASONS to really use Light Armor cause that +5% Crit Bonus is super good, and the -25% Crit Chance for enemies which is handy, I'd honestly just consider the 87th Tribe Armor and the Scorched Sierra Power Armor on it's own level outside of every other Heavy Armor in the game. Although due to the Riot Gears getting affected by this perk as well, it's more personal preference whether or not you want the bonuses of the 2 Heavy Armors over the bonuses of the Medium Armors.

You can make a heavy armored crit spammer with Salt Upon Wounds' helmet and Armor of the 87th Tribe. Fittingly thematic for a Legion melee build swinging the Blade of the West (increased crit chance modifier and knocks down on crits. Literally has Super Slam built into it).
Remnants Power Armor both iconic in looks, and it's the best heavy armor in the game. But unfortunately it's kinda hard to repair power armor in Fallout New Vegas since not too many enemies wear this kind of armor.

I never use heavy armor. Getting power armor training in New Vegas is a pain in the ass and the non-power armor heavy armors aren't really that much better than the best medium armor.
Heavy armor in New Vegas is plain useless given that the DT is only a few points higher than some medium armor. The weight plus debuffs just aren't worth it. You can very easily get the Desert Ranger combat armor from the survivalist stashes in Honest Hearts early in the game.
Honestly, I personally prefer the T-51b over the Remnants Power Armor, because the Remnants armor decays so fast, whereas T-51 has way more health, so you don't have to repair it continuously.
There's this part in UberDanger's "Rise of Bossman" series where he says that Ulysses is going to nuke either the NCR or the Legion and makes it sound like a bad thing. Then, just when you think he's going to stop Ulysses, he says he can't stand to see a man achieve only half his potential. 😂🚀🚀
Just be real man. The 87th tribe power armor is just flat out better than the others. It literally has the best passive effects out of all the heavy armors at the cost of lower DT. Getting both AP and crit chancd is absurdly powerful.
Health Regen is nice and all, but negligible at +2. I personally value the higher item HP and AP bonus of the 87th Tribe. It's easy to get both sets if you nuke the NCR and the Legion before going into the Lucky 38 (that way you can reset your faction rating for the NCR at Crocker and with the Mark of Caesar from Vulpes.) Everything else just doesn't feel quite S tier for Heavy Armor. Light and Medium definitely got the better sets overall.
The strength bonus on power armour helps offset the weight of the armour and a plus 2 to strength adds 20 pound to your carry weight so in essence reduces the weight of T45 d to 30 pounds for the set which is the same as the best medium armours
Did you know you can actually get The enclave armor without doing Arcades quest Helmet is located in some mine and The chest is located in the most dangerous area with death claws near Hoover dam

But the T45 D which is way better you only lose 3 Acton points the big bonuses for action points come from the action boy or girl perk that gives you an extra 15 per tier of which their are Two so you can get a bonus of 30 points to your actions points plus if on the standard build of 7 agility you can also get a bonus 1 point via a implant so will a minus 1 agility from a heavy armour build your character can have a base of 86 action points which is respectable the only time heavy armour with the agility penalty is a bad idea is when you are going to the boomers
Camp for the first time because if you was to get to the main gate mostly or entirely unscathed by their fire you need to be wearing lightweight armour and have 7 agility points so you can move fast
This category is 90% worse than the medium armour. The difficulty reaching the best of each category is totally different also.

The reason you had 2 Enclave armors, was because one was "Advanced Power Armor" which was obtainable way sooner then the Enclave Power Armor by simply swimming to a spot across the Colorado River.
Also, you forgot that the Ganon Tesla Armor existed.
11:00 Another note, and why I consider the Scorched Sierra Power Armor the best armor in the game:
The perk Light Touch only applies to Base Game armors, and Dead Money armors due to the fact that DLCs can't affect each other.
Can you reverse pickpocket arcade's power armor if you don't have enough speech?
As an og fan of Fallout 1, i only wear t51-b in any Fallout game.
I use metal armor to repair power armor
Anyone else think it was a complete headscratcher to put the most awesome legion armor behind a door requiring you to nuke the legion and the same thing for the NCR side? Very pro faction look and all you need to do is nuke that faction. Ehh what?
Yeah I guess so. That is a bit strange now that you mention that.
i like to think about it as sort of a trophy. just like general grevious would carry green and blue lightsabers :d
@@prepthenun probably to intimidate lesser faction units. That Colonel and Centurion were probably legends amongst their factions and by wearing their hard-earned armour, you're disrepecting them and their communities thus earning respect from the opposite sides.
New vegas needed more personalized power armor like the Tribal Power Armor from the Pitt.
People play this game without getting Jury Rigging?
I never waste a perk on it. I make weapon repair kits and just pay for armor repairs. You end up swimming in caps anyway
@@bvav9678 it’s just one of those things that’s really nice to have. I know how to get around it but also I like power armor and that’s a bitch to repair without it.
You get the Gannon Family Tesla Armor from Arcade Gannon
9:46 Wrong. You can find a full set in the Wasteland lmao.
The helmet is at Ruby hill mine (by jacobstown it has the legendary Cazador) the other one (the rest of the armor) is at deathclaw promontory by Cottonwood Cove. lol.
Sierra and 87th tribe armors get S-Tier for style points alone
Yeah, it does look awesome!
I never understood why Centurion Armor is mediun and not heavy, it wheighs 5 more than the Metal Armor
Light armor tier next??
It's going to be medium armor next but we will do light armor after that.
Sierra Madre PA with Max Rad Child means never have to use Stimpaks vs NPCs.
Creatures will still slap through tho.
Yeah I imagine that will be pretty strong.
Scorched sierra?
It almost seems like there shoulda been a perk that negates metal armor -1 agi.
Metal armour is A tier. Fixes up my power armour with jurry rigger. I grab that shit every time I see it.
Edit. When I'm not using the stealth suit or Madre armour
It is really good for repair fodder.
where do I get the good armor?
T-45 D is always better for just aesthetics, who cares about stats when you can look amazing.
Exactly what I needed
Cool video!
Glad you enjoyed it
this video doin numbers fr
I use metal armor to repair riot helmets lol
I don't think any these are S tier, A yes. Before fallout 4 power armor was kind of a disappointment in bethesda games. In fallout 4, yeah power armor is definitely S tier especially with all the modifications you can do to them.
That is fair to say.
Hell yeah
Hope you enjoy!

We’ve all thought it, but if there’s one thing we wish we could have: it’s power armor behaving as proper exo-suits like in 1, 2 & 4.
The one thing we dream but can never reach (without some really good modders & scripters at the helm)

@@Idazmi7 yep, that’s about as good as it gets pardner~
i always wanna do a heavy armor playthrough but when it comes time to do it i always think about how awesome light armor is and do a luck build with courier’s duster, recon beret, and light touch💀
Just do an explosives build, then you'll have no other choice.
@@txGHOSTxt1you do have a choice, it's Advanced Riot Gear.
Also DT is worthless with Explosives.
I'm currently doing explosive+ melee and wearing the Courier Duster because you just look so badass firing heavy weapons in it.
Two words: *Jury Rigging*
@@thatskeletordude5271I always just repair stuff at the sink. Jury rigging is a waste of a perk trait if you run dlc because Elijah wins the jackpot at the sierra madre so he gets 1000 chips a week, and a repair kid is like 50 from the vending machine. Meanwhile the hit squads give you 20k in caps
@@AImpatientMan Jury Rigging main benefit is that it only requires having stuff already at reach, doing all the other suggestions you mention require going through load screens (the Sink one takes 4 load screens, while the Elijah one takes 2)
@@thatskeletordude5271 Elijah wins 5000 chips on the first week and 1000 per week, a weapon repair kit cost 20 so your never going to run out of weapon repair kits. The big mountain teleporter takes like 10 seconds to whip out and go through two loading screens. Maybe if your on a crappy PC with 10+ second loading times but for me the loading screens are 2 seconds or less and I'm willing to give up jury rigging for another combat perk. I also am a hoarder so I always just use the sink to store all my gear, make hand loaded ammo, etc
@@thatskeletordude5271 Or just break the economy in the mid game and go to the Sink or the Divide to have a vendor repair it because you have over 100k caps by level 30. What I do anyway.
That is if you don't run into the bad 3 Cazadors, Geckos and Yao Guais who easily out run you.

Honestly, I personally prefer the T-51b over the Remnants Power Armor, because the Remnants armor decays so fast, whereas T-51 has way more health, so you don't have to repair it continuously.
Your content keeps me alive in this wasteland we call life😊
Thanks!
Or nuke both 😂💀 shit thats right, I needa play lonesome road again
Just a little bit trolling to the NCR and Caesar.
This man is doing gods work here…
The power armor that you had "2" of was 2 different power armors. One was the Remnants Power Armor and the second was the Gannon Family Tesla Armor.
The Fallout 3 BoS armor is the best imo because I always play lower than average STR characters. Always high Luck, Endurance & Agility.
Was wondering why you removed the Gannon Power Armour out of the tier list then i remembered that it is part of the medium armor category.
I’m pretty sure Metal Armor is actually -2 Agility so that makes it even worse
Just be real man. The 87th tribe power armor is just flat out better than the others.
It literally has the best passive effects out of all the heavy armors at the cost of lower DT. Getting both AP and crit chancd is absurdly powerful.
i have been playing this game for years and i didnt know half of these
metal armour also helps in juryrigging power armour
Remnant Power Armor is D tier because if you are wearing it you hurt Arcade and a bunch of elderly people.
You can find Remnant Power Armor in the deathclaw promontory. The helmet is in a cave somewhere.
Ron I wait for the day you so tier lists of the weapons of fo4.
I will do that at some point.
These tier lists are all awesome. I am playing NV for the third time. I rarely ever play a game twice. This game is just awesome man. I even play it with no mods and it’s fine for me.
No medium armor tier list?
That will be coming soon.
Tesla armor isn't the same as other Remnants armor, I thought. Isn't that the armor with better protection against energy weapons?
Never been a fan of the heavy armors. I might have to try the 87th tribe armor though.
Omg I didn't know Squire Thaddeus did New Vegas content
Cant you get heavy ncr armor
Yeah it is the salvaged power armor.
@@ReapeeRon no I mean like actual heavy ncr armor like that ncr ranger wears in Novak
@saiyanelite7919 That's the Ranger Patrol Armor and it's medium armor, not heavy.
@@desertdude540 oohhhh it's been so long since I've played new Vegas. I thought it was heavy armor. It looks pretty bulky
I'm surprised you didn't mention the elite riot armor because I'm pretty sure it's classified as heavy armor
Just the helmet is classified as heavy. The body is Medium so the set is Medium
Isnt there also power armor that gives you stimpacks?
That one is in Fallout 3, the prototype medic armor in Broken Steel.
@@Alex-jq3zc Its not in Broken Steel, its in the base game. In that town in the north full of deathclaws.
@@Metalija1315 Ah. My bad lol
@@Alex-jq3zc the prototype medic armor just injects you with medx not stimpacks.
how does remnants make S tier but not armor of the 87th? the bonuses alone are S tier!
been binging your tierlists again. amazing jobs!
Yooo that’s not a duplicate it’s the Gannon Family Armor!
its medium armor anyway
That would make sense as to why I added it to the list.
