    I’m glad you found a solution Lance😀

    That step through is not strong enough for your weight. The frame downtube should thicker gauge metal to prevent twisting. They tested this bike with Chinese riders that are no where near your weight. Silly having to strip a bike just so you can ride it safely.

      I planned stripping it down anyways for off-road riding. But your right, no one should have to remove racks to ride a bike safely.

      rider weight is not factoring into this issue. you can see the difference in the bike's behaviour when it has the attachments that come stock and more so with the cargo package even with no rider at all on the bike.
      you can see the rear literally wag when the front is jostled.
      the lack of the rack would reduce the issue as there would be less weight to oscillate so it will be harder for that motion to run away.
      unfortunately, my wife wanted this step thru specifically for the occasional cargo carrying capability. so. meh

      My step through seems ok with me at 215lbs, all racks in it. My wife is 130lbs and it wobbles on her.

      @@theridewithlance could one of the arms on the fork get bent back or forward in shipping? You want to go straight but bike is heading somewhere else. That's quite the wobble are the front wheel bearing cones tight or check head tube bearings

      @@rufusirvin5279 if it was just the front wobbling, that might be possiblity. this bike waves.

    Nice video! I am glad you figured out about the wobble and the foot clearance by removing the fenders. I was planning on removing the fenders anyway, and I would never put on the baskets anyway. My XPeak is not due for delivery until March sometime. Lectric sent me an email stating that I could choose up to $150 for accessories in replacement of the baskets, which I thought was cool. Once my XPeak arrives I will be giving my Lectric Xpedition to a friend to introduce them to the e-bike world. Like you, I will be adding a suspension seat post and handlebar riser. I will also be adding tannus armour which I already received.

      Yes, I think the rise in the handlebars pluss the seatpost duspension will give a mucher nicer ride. I am looking forward to taking it offroad.

      i used the tannus inserts with a switch to road hycline tires. was pretty easy and seems to be working great.
      obviously i don't plan on using either of my xpeaks off road.
      raising the handlebar will almost definitely mean changing your hydraulic line up front because it's too short (literally the only cable that is remotely short). that will also mean bleeding your brake.
      i also suggest moving the throttle to the left and flipping it upside down. making it a finger throttle instead of thumb. this feels so much more comfortable than thumb while allowing you to maintain access to your brakes without moving your hand. plus it's divides up your accessories better.

      I have been using tannus inserts on all my bikes pedal or e-bikes, also I install "Flat Out" inside the inner tube for extra protection. I never got a flat when using both of these together. I saw a video of someone raising the handlebars up a little more with no cable issues. I am also adding an extra battery to the bike when I get it. So you swapped out the knobbing tires for street tires? I am sure this will give a smoother ride @@cellsafemode

    Which accessories did you order?

    • @theridewithlance
      @theridewithlance  6 месяцев назад

      Cargo net, bell, bottle holder, tire pump and top tube bag. Cargo net will be for my RadRover though.

    With all this wobble talk, has Lectric denied or confirmed it

    • @theridewithlance
      @theridewithlance  25 дней назад +1

      Neither. Once they realized the cargo bins where the cause of the wobble on the step thru they stopped sending the bikes out with the cargo bins and offered a saddle type bag instead, which carries the weight lower. I can conform though, when I removed the cargo bins and racks, I have not had a single shack or weird frame wobble. I set this bike up for trail riding, so I was not going to leave the cargo bins and racks on anyways.

    Hopefully this turns out to be a long-term satisfactory solution for you.

      We will see. The offroading I plan on doing is really easy trail riding and not full on high speed downhill or jumping.
