This was the first live performance of this song in almost six years so it came as a complete surprise to the audience when it started. I was at this show and everyone in the pit was flabbergasted when we heard the opening bars of the song; we couldn’t believe what we were hearing because most people had given up hope that it would ever be performed live again.
The energy in this performance is incredible - they hadn't performed it in just short of 6 years and becoming a trio again they decided to bring it out again. The reaction of the crowd at the first second when they realise what song it is gave me chills.
Iine always makes me smile, such a great song. I have to hand it to Su, I think this has her doing more choreo than most songs, and she still nails it perfectly.

Perhaps Koba (producer) was smokin’ what you had in that pipe when he came up with this madly amazing song. Truly deserving of the 4m 20s duration. iine!!! 🤘🤘🦊💨

@@GreatStonedDragon Thats awesome man! Im glad, im just a simple 35 year old dude lol, I do play the drums too, so i enjoy when you notice simple stuff (like the hi-hat opening). and Absolutely no hurry, but id love to see ya react to Babymetal "Catch Me If You Can Fox Festival 2017" Ill try and drop a link in a comment on one of your vids. This was my first BM song, it made me smile for the first time in years! Proof that BM was already doing electronicore (AKA pikorimo ピコリーモ in Japan) twelve years before Ratatata. The official MV, released way back in 2012 when the girls were only 13-15, was a lot more techno. Too bad BM would shelve several of their earliest juvenile-themed songs as they left their teenage years behind. They were simply outgrowing those old material, & were also releasing newer bangers who could supersede them. Since then, they would revive songs like Iine & IDZ more for nostalgic value (like the 10th anniversary gigs at Budokan) or as an occasional bonus performance for the fans.
For a few of these songs I would suggest double reactions. Both a newer live video like this , followed by the original MV. It really gives perspective. Songs like Doki Doki Morning, this one, Ijame Dame Zettai, and head banger. See how good and talented they were when they were 11 (Yui and Moa) and just turned 13 (Su) for Doki Doki morning. Yui and Moa 12 and Su either still 13 or barely 14 when the video for Iijame Dame Zettai was filmed.. headbanger and IIne also around the same age. Just amazing. For Doki Doki live version look for the one from January of last year , a "Babymetal returns" show. The video might say metalverse instead of chibi metal now, because they changed the spinoff groups name
Haha! One of their VERY first songs (2nd one after 'Doki Doki Morning' if I'm no mistaken). It's hilarious seeing this performed in 2023. I could never forget the original MV of this song, OMG. The jaw of many reactors dropping off is priceless. I'm pretty sure you have not seen all Babymetal has to offer, but I'm not going to be the one who make spoilers! Babymetal Forever!! 🦊🦊🍅🦊
Well you're getting ruined the experience reacting for the first time to certain BM songs such this one, trust me, like many comments said, this one hits better when watching the official MV,, that brutal breakdown hits even harder. This live version it's fine after watching that official MV because it was a come back song after many years without playing since YuiMetal left the group and now with the new official member, MomoMetal. And btw it's "ee - neh" not Line or whatever, iine with a capital i. Anyway keep enjoying BM songs.🦊🤘
Unfortunately, a certain poster is more interested in driving reactors and views to videos on his channel😞, than spreading the joy of the BABYMETAL experience. 🦊 🖖❤
2024, maybe 13 years old at this point, today this is a meme song, you wouldn't understand the context. Each album is _literally_ a new age, and songs carried over have lived history in different ways. This is from one of their first singles, *before* the first album, 2nd MV they did. A good way to have the basics, would have been to watch the MV first, the 2013 live, and THEN nowadays, after they just started to put it on some of the set list again, in Japan, after more than half a decade, for the lulz. One of the old songs, they were children. They never played this song outside Japan since 2016 I think, they still won't.
"They never played this song outside Japan since 2016 I think, they still won't." That's not really correct. They performed this song in 2017 eight times when they were touring the Southern USA with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and they performed it eight times in Asia and Australia in 2023.
I don't mean this to be a nag, but you need to remember to stretch before watching Babymetal live. The CDC reports that Injuries during BM videos are one of the top ICD10 diagnosis code designations "S46.011A:BabymetalLive" affecting thousands of new fans a day. Take care of yourself!
