My favorite lube to use from Kinetic Labs (affiliate): geni.us/vBoMy8C
Whats it called
@@sandrawikstrom5185 Krytox 205g0
There’s no difference
The hair at the end made my perfectionist mad...
You had to point it out
More realistic tbh
Thanks for showing a before and after. Other videos I’ve watched don’t give a comparison so I never knew if it makes a difference. It did have a more smooth sound effect afterwards
I have the most unethical way of lubing. I open the switch with a flat head screwdriver and open it. I grab the spring and using my trumpet slide lube, i roll the lube and spring around my fingers. I then lube the sides of the switch and then close it. Works fine
Wow, that looks like a pretty high entrance costs. Actually all you need is some lube and brush. Even openere isn't necessary, but it's the first thing I would buy after lube+brush. :)
Help, I used the wrong kind of lube and now my switch is pregnant
Bro... XD
😳
Oh, No!!
Wut
it stinks
Last year I built an ortho 75 key and wanted to try lubing my switches. Didn't know that lube stations were a thing, so I did each one individually holding each piece with tweezers and putting them back together the same. It took about 6 hours.
Buy a lube station and stem puller, everyone. It'll save you hours and hours.
My friend is so smart he 3d printed a lube station at digital tech since he’s getting into custom keyboards
So smart… when a lube station costs like 10 bucks including brush and even lube and opener 😅
Her voice is so soothing
Damn that's just too much work but the sound at the end is compelling
I absolutely love mechanical keyboards but given how clumsy I am, I could never see myself doing this
Same lol
Too much work anyway lol
I just need the switch opener.
you voice sounds so sweet ❤
I will need to wait till I move next year to even consider building my own keyboard. I don't have space right now in my tiny accommodation
use the bathtub
Or the kitchen table
You're an artist 🧐
ty this helped alot!
I'm glad!
Meanwhile i open switches using a top housing from a different switch and use my fingers to hold everything. I am too much of a cheapskate to buy proper tools.
hold on you might be on to something here
Wait… you can do that? Also how did you open the first switch?
@@crabus2561 top housings have 4 clips that clip onto the bottom housing. Use a small flathead screwdriver to unclip the first top housing, then use the clips of the top housing to push out the clips of other switches
5 dollars for a switch opener😂
Just buy it
@@Kushanody I'd definitely buy one if I had to open switches often, but my keyboard is already lubed and I'm probably gonna wait another few years till i upgrade
Wish that I have enough for that many and good keyboards 😢
My brain try to ignore the hair with LUBE STATION
Idk how much is too much, since more lube sounds better
I have optical
At the beginning it looked like a torture chamber
Hi! I applied silicone spray on my Steelseries Apex 7 TKL Blue and the results are great. What do you think of this idea?
Lubing station and stem picker is optional tho. I prefer not to use mine lol
So many people worry / don't like the noise ... LOL never used a damn typewriter did ya
Love ur asian accent
She said a little bit and proceeded to have the fattest glob of 205g0 I’ve seen on a brush going into a switch. 😂😂😂
So the question is do you re lube your switches 1/2 weeks later? Is the switches will maintain its smoothness?
Solid btw 100th comment 💯
Can u share the link of the board u used in the video? pls
Hello! What switch is used in the video?
Switch and click asmr simulator. Nice lmao do more
Wait u have to do the top😭
Are you ever gonna do a keyboard give away?
I didn’t realize you were supposed to lube the top housing…
what if you just bag lube all the parts would that not accomplish the same thing just more messy?
before and before
One down, 86 to go
how did you manage to hold the stem with the stemholder this way?
That sounds alot better pin?
Before and before
how long does this lubricant last? I have a very old Filco with Cherry Brown from 2011 - would this be safe to even try?
What is that switch opener called ? I usually see like cube switch opener only haha
I always thought lubing took a lot of work but to me it seems that it takes like 10 mintues
Where did you get the lube station?
Actually you need to lube all the places where there are friction
Idk I couldn’t hear a reference maybe feels better?
Before sounded so much better
Genuine question can you use Vaseline?
where can you buy that opener
whats the brand of the lube station?
This that a speed silver switch
Because everybody has a 'lube station' lying around.
After opening switches how tf do you close them
Alright one down, 57 to go
Krytox 205g0 and Krytox GPL 205g0 are the same lubes right????
Switch opener from?
What’s the ring for?
What is the name of this white product?
a lube station? that's just my bed
do i have to do this time to time or only once
That lube looked consumed a lot of it 🤔
is donut dipping bad because it uses too much? srry noob luber here :(
Considering that would take much more work for all the keycaps the sound improvement is not worth it
Which Lube Station is this?
At this point i think membrane keyboards are better. If it dies then buy a new one . No big deal.
Is grease ok?
hi ... again
Why does the switch look so big? 🤔
Early!🥰
0:10
I’m just buying a new keyboard.
I might be dumb but I can't tell the difference
Am I the only person who likes unlubed switches lol?
Do you only have to line them once and then never again or do you have to line them every once in a while
Once and then never again
@@Dafooligan ok
Day 2 of asking for you to build a custom keyboard with Akko V3 Cream Blue Switches
Sister, please make a minecraft keyboard and mouse!!!
Wait, you lubed the top housing? Can someone please tell me why. like wat it do??
It makes the glide with the legs on the stem easier so it isn't scratchy.
@@rexyein not really, the stem is already being lubed
Nothing, there's no need to lube the top housing. Follow Alexotos's lubing video, that's the best way to lube switches efficiently.
deaf people: 😀
blind people: 🤨💀
ngl this particular switch didint sound that different before and after
now do it 100 more times lmao
This is the reason why mechanical keyboard cuts down on the amount of keys they use.
Thats each key lol im good
What brand is that lube station?
Have you found out yet?
why did she like your comment and then not even reply
Mexican Cream Cheese (pin)
i just deep my switches in coconut oil :)
Fam, please don't "donut dip" you're springs or lube the top housing, this is madness.
Hey your shop button covers up what you're doing. Literally can't see. 😡
Lmao keyboard people are too funny
Do you have to be a Jedi Master to feel the difference?
haha
Do you have keyboard?
Is it me or does it sound the same
Damn and all I do is spray it down with wd 40...I'm uncivilized
Your hands are so tiny bro a switch in my hand is like a raisin
🫣
The "before" sound was absolutely UNHOLY.
It sounds almost the same lubed vs unlubed
@@kiz__I disagree. HUGE difference in my opinion, ut then again, I'm into the hobby, so... make of that what you will.
@@spiritless07 I disagree it sounded pretty similar. Objectively speaking not a HUGE difference. If the test was done before and after with the switches and keycaps in the keyboard it would’ve maybe showed more of an audible difference maybe. Especially for stabs.
@@kiz__ We're just gonna have to agree to disagree here. This is a biiiig difference to me. Enough that it would easily make hand-lubing these particular switches worth it for an entire board, although personally, I just typically buy pre-lubed switches, and only try to hand-lube the stabs on all my builds. However, I do agree with you that the difference would be *even more* pronounced with a full build before/after- I think it would be monumentally evident to anyone then.
why
is it gonna last 4ever or we gonna lubed again?
I'm asking this everyone but nobody answers me dude .d
It lasts for at least 6 months, and it's up to you if you wanna lube your switches again. I redid mine after a year of modding my keyboard.
did anyone notice how she said "a cumbillion"
I might be tone deaf because it doesn’t sound any different
It sounds the same.
