What is funny is when Kirk C is explaining the changes that had happened to the Delorian (5 min mark) he was saying that Doc had incorporated the hover aspect of the car in a visit to the year 2015.. which is NOW.. SO when do we get hover cars.. :) funny how 30 yrs ago this looked like the future. I had the honor of riding the BTTF ride with my kids at Universal before the closing in Dec of 2007.. Given TV's were a new technology in 1950, that seems way out of place.

Doc's big mistake was to get caught up in 1885 and altered his own future.....where he's always telling Marty not to do anything that will mess with HIS own future (like buying a sports book with 30 years of sports stats that would make him easy to win at the races - exactly what BIFF ends up doing. Cause and effect stuff. Also they wouldn't have got into trouble since they went back to 1985 - but as far as the townsfolk of 1885 were concerned "Clint Eastwood" and the blacksmith died in the "accident" (hence "Eastwood Ravine" at the end of the third film.
Well I know that some of you people out there wish you had a hoverboard from Part II of the film, but these kind of hoverboards don't even actually exist because all of this is just fiction but you can just buy the hoverboards that we have in our world because these are the actual hoverboards that we have in reality.
