    Mr. Powell, kudos for reviewing mixers that are not widely reviewed, and your enthusiasm. You may want to show more of the two mixers in individual close-ups and also showing closer views of the pots and ports, making sure the camera is in sharp focus. I am using a 32" monitor in RUclips Full Screen mode and am having trouble seeing the detail even with my glasses on. It would have been great to have some or all of the pages of the manual included, along with real world scenarios that show other gear in the signal chain. My guess is that you have some XLR cables, mics, speakers, and 1/4" Quarter-Inch cables in your studio. You may want to also show the mixers for longer periods of time. When the mixers are shown, they are revealed in very short snippets. Your handsome mug is seen 99% percent of the time, almost as if this video is an audition for something else and the mixers are just props. You could go to views and subscribers in the tens of thousands (10,000 • 10 K) and hundreds of thousands (100,000 • 100 K). The secret is making videos that satisfy the viewers curiosity for wanting to know more but in a more condensed time frame. Use the tools of the medium. Think in terms of shooting a fresh new story not merely shooting a stage play with a fixed camera.

    We use this at church. Very small group and now I've got a lot of catch up learning! : D Thanks for the review. It's a nice primer going into the user's manual.

    Great videos. I want to start running a mixing console with my DJ gear. I wanted to know your opinion on the sound quality of the Harbinger LV8 compared to a Mackie ProFX10 or the Yamaha MG10? The harbinger has the XLR master, EQ on the channels, pan ability and I do not need effects but I am not really sure about the sound quality. Is it something that would be noticeable?

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  2 года назад +3

      I haven’t tried all of them but I know that sound quality from mixer, in my opinion, is based first on the mixers ability to be silent as as silent as possible. The mixer needs to “not” be part of the output. I’m sure they all will pass that test. The thing is, once the muck is loud no one will know what you’re working on. Next is budget, then features in your budget. If I were you I’d go to Guitar Center and (ignore the sales people) listen to each with a pair if headphones that you bring in. Listen for a hiss. List low first…. They all will have a hiss at high volumes. Usually the hiss shows up around 90% volume. The thing is you’ll likely never run it that high. If it shows up sooner that’s not the one. Once you’ve weeded out the noisy ones go to budget and features. Remember always plan for the future. 👍🏽

    Hi. The dimension specs on the LV14 on the websites say "Dimensions WxDxH: 17.12” x 11.65” x 4.06” Is that true???? Sure doesn't seem 17" wide. Please let me know. Tnx! Great video!

    Mono outputs from mixers are generally used for sending the signal to a subwoofer

      Mono out Not necessarily for subwoofers. Those are usually run on an aux out, so you can adjust what channels get the sub and what channels don't get it.
      You don't want subs on your vocals or on your overall mix!
      A mono signal would be used to check your recordings for phase issues that you can't hear when mixing in stereo.
      Everyone wants their mix to be mono compatible cuz in today's world there are many different ways to listen to a song. Hope this helps. Thanks.

    I was running sound for a live band and clicked on solo while they were on a break. I played canned music via the Bluetooth during the break. When the band came back and started to grab gear to play again I could hear vocals coming from the stage. Turns out the solo button will kill the mains but not the monitors. I have since brought the Mon to zero when using solo. I haven’t test control room, phones or any other output with solo yet. Do I have a broken unit?

      Question? You went live with an untested board? 😳 that’s like buy a new car without test driving only to discover a potential factory defect. Okay, I’m not sure, I’d probably try another one. I don’t have it set up in that manner so I can’t even test your question. I’d try another one.

    I am new to mixing. Very new! I want a mixer that can control the screeching sound of cordless mics. Also allow me to listen to music with headphones on a different channel on one computer without interrupting the current session. Thanks for your help.

    • @KeithronPowell
      @KeithronPowell  Год назад

      Nothing controls that except don’t aim the mic at the speakers . Mixers have a headphone jack with its own volume. Also, you can alway use the computer’s headphone jack

    Is there any issue using a mix of condenser mics and dynamic mics drum mics with the XLR inputs with phantom power on? I know you need that for the condenser mics but the other ones are dynamic and I'm wondering if that is a problem for the dynamic mics.

      @@KeithronPowell Agree w/ 'Executive Automotive Society'. This video promises a review, and we never got one but only an overview. Can't find anyone that actually shows any of the LV series in action, or even anyone talking about their impression of how the mixer works. Can I assume that's because the mixers are poor quality in their performance?
