5 years ago I lost my prostate to cancer. I then went on to one meal a day keto to lesson the chances of it coming back. 3 years into that I devaloped coronary artery disease with crippling angina. I then moved to whole plant based, no oil, no dairy and with in 3 months the angina was gone and I never got the stent I was booked to have. 2 years later today I am on no meds and I am very active at 60 years of age. I live off my garden and forage wild berries, muchrooms and watercress. I have my health back.
Congratulations on your journey to better health! I cringe when I hear all this disinformation on the meat heavy diets. I wonder how many people have been hurt just like you. For everybody watching, the information is out there. Don't listen to this meat industry propaganda. Get the studies and read them yourselves.
100+ years of studies using Keto for refactory epilepsy, 20+ years of studies using Keto to actually reverse type 2 diabetes, and now several years of studies using Keto for other neurologic conditions beyond just epilepsy such as bipolar, schizophrenia, anorexia, etc. Check the science.
So if you're very sick with something unlikely, do keto. Got it. There are other ways to reverse type 2 besides going on a diet that we know is bad in the long term.
Still lowers your longevity. Their blood is swimming in fats. Increases insulin resistance too. Short term benefits sure but whole food plant base and high nutrient density as Dr. Fuhrman advocates far far better. My field is nutrition and do the research accurately!
@@carolynb2972 Where are the RCT's showing any diet with outcomes related to longevity? Wouldn't you have to separate identical twins at birth, isolate them in a metabolic ward, controlling everything except a single variable, for their entire life?
@@carolynb2972 Proper keto diets won't damage longevity. The key with any diet is to not overeat, not eat too often (because we do and it causes chronic hyperinsulinemia...I have a background in patient care and nutrition), stay active even if it's light activity daily, and maintain a healthy body weight/lean body mass. And of course no matter what you eat, minimize ultra-processed food as much as possible. If ppl just did that stuff, no matter what diet they follow, they'll be much healthier.
I would suggest in order to find out about a keto/carnivore diet please speak to the people who actually studied it. Dr Eric Westman had been studying and using this practice for over 20 years. Dr Ken Berry is also an excellent resource. Please do your own research
The majority of research says low carb diets are detrimental to human health. Anyone who ignores the majority of data, in favor of what supports their beliefs, is a danger to the public.
That is a waste of time…We all know what Dr Westman and Ken Berry are going to say..their info is unreliable, biased and unscientific. Don’t waste your time.
For what it's worth...I've been plant based over 8 years and follow pretty close to the 90/10 diet rule. Most of the time (90%) very clean, whole, organic foods, minimal processed. The other 10% is things like the occasional chips, a beer, coffee creamers, pizza, etc. (all vegan of course). With this approach, my blood work, strength, mood, sleep, skin, eyesight, digestion, basically everything in my life has steadily improved entering into my mid 40s. My macro breakdown is roughly 60/15/25 (carb, protein, fat). Lots of fruit, but also lots of beans, quinoa, veggies, greens, nuts/seeds. I workout every day and eat roughly 100g protein at 155lbs. Life is good for this elf✌🧝🌱
the trick is following a diet that takes away all the crap food. so if you only eat meat or carbs you will feel better., its what u DONT eat that is the problem . look at people shopping , only prossesed bread , ice cream, candy , fried stuff, pizza, hot dogs, cola, chips, candy . donughts, cereal. and so on , thats the real problem with added crappy stuff ,
Not only that, but ppl pay little attention to the harmful effects of combining fats with carbs/sugars. It's a thing often overlooked called the Randle Cycle. That's why a lot of ppl do great when they eliminate most or all carbs, or they go the other way and eat high carb but eliminate most fat.

Plant based eating for four decades put me in a mobility chair. I finally switched to carnivore and was able to donate the mobility chair to charity. Almost seven years carnivore and my health continues to improve. BTW, the keto diet is the most studied diet. It’s been studied for 100 years, having first been discovered to help with epilepsy and I diabetics. Now it’s being studied as an adjunct therapy for cancer. The vegan diet is very new. No population in the history of humans has ever survived on a 100% plant based diet. I’ve met Dr. Fuhrman. He’s emaciated and has a sour personality. His poor daughter has had chronic regional pain syndrome (CRPS) for years. I suggested that the cause Maugham be the absence of animal foods inner diet and she completely dismissed the idea.
The farmer hauled another load away, it wasn't hay. You are full of s#$t. I'll bet you met Fuhrman. Emaciated, what a load of crap. What is a sour personality? Fuhrman has two daughters both grads of Ivy league universities and they WALK THE TALK. Both are the essence of health. Stop the crap already. Nutritional research is a relatively new field. There are virtually zero long term studies on any foods before the 50's. Much was guess work until then. There are now many 1000's of world wide studies of blue zones and vegans beginning primarily in the 50's. Long term Keto Carnivore studies are still limited. There are short term studies that do show some benefits. However, research absolutely shows that long term carnivores have far more health issues and live up to 10 years less than vegans, even vegans who eat some meet. Loma Linda's population of more than 20,000 primarily vegans have been studied since the early 50's primarily because of the University and Hospital interest in diet as a way of life. They live on average 8-10 years longer than their counterparts around them and have substantially less cancer, vascular disease, and more.
@@yuoiyuoi899 If you met those 20,000 people and went to their events and saw the food on the party tables you will find zero are vegans that's why Dr. Wareham made a fortune doing so many heart operations in Loma Linda.
Amazing recovery. Did you have ALS? By the way, dr. Fuhrman is not emaciated. I've met him. He is very alert physically and mentally. If you suggesedt his daughter that the absence of animal foods is causing her problems, you should come up with a reason why. Keto approach works for epileptic people although fasting showed to be more effective as a therapy. Keto has Not been showed to help with cancer.
It’s not deficient in Vit C. Dude I was on PCP directed low fat, low protein, eating 5-6x a day, 5-6 grains per day, 6-7 veg, 2 fruits and you know what it got me?? Fatter, worse health and a fing heart attack! After the heart attack I went carnivore- but not strict.. New labs just 2 months out of the heart attack are the best in 7 years. 7 fing years of misery due to a “healthy diet!” I feel far better now and lost some weight, too. My bp, cholesterol, uric acid, kidney function, A1c, auto immune symptoms ALL of my previous issues are nearly gone and tests show within normal limits. So y’all can down the carnivore diet if you want, but for me it’s working and I will continue to eat this way until it doesn’t.
I ate WFPB for 6 years. It was fine for 2 years but after that I gained tons of weight. I’m now wearing a CGM and notice eating Carnivore is AMAZING for insulin resistance and energy.
I don't know what you mean by whole food plant base, but if you're eating like Dr Fuhrman suggests specifically, there's no way you're going to gain weight. Just not possible.
@@HomeschoolVoiceswith all due respect, I was WFPB for 6 years and gained more than 30 pounds. And I was like all of you, hating on anyone eating meat 😂 please stop. Veganism was the biggest mistake of my life Look at Dr Chaffe, Dr Baker or any other healed carnivore and compare them to any dr or WFPB advocate. Sorry, not buying it anymore (spent way too much on their books-I have them all, from McDougal to Gregor).
After two weeks carnivore suddenly my asthma is gone. I am not using carnivore diet anymore, but after 30 years of inhalers every day - it did the trick for me. Also, fasting improved my blood pressure greatly and I no longer have high blood pressure.
I understand that the carnivore diet can lead to some quick improvements like weight loss and more energy. However, from a medical perspective, there are concerns about its long-term effects, particularly on cardiovascular health. Diets high in red and processed meats can raise cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease. It's generally safer to follow a nutritarian diet, which focuses on nutrient-dense foods like vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and whole grains, to maintain heart health over the long term.

Something about meat and fish that the average person doesn't take into consideration, is that they are filled with parasites and are the reason that humans get them! Depending on where or by whom the meat was raised will determine how Genetically Modified it is, or how much growth hormone has been injected into them and also, how much anti-biotics were administered to keep them alive long enough to make it into the cattle car before put on a meat hook to be butchered. All fish have worms and parasites, especially farm raised. Ocean Fish contain a lot of Mercury, (one of the most toxic compounds known to man). How well do you know your sources?
Veganism wasn’t invented . It was the original diet outlined from the Bible after we were created . Genesis 1:29 . Read it . Who better to know then the one who made us from the earth .
@jean-chritophedesjarlais8435 There are tribes of humans that have lived generationally on diets of almost exclusively animal foods, you can't say the same about vegans.
I have been eating less meat for 4 months. After my Aunt introduced me to your channel. I was 310 and now I’m 252 and dropping. I eat more beans and added quinoa and various beans plus many veggies. There are no long term vegan studies, just epidemiology studies which do not show causation. There are studies for the ketogenic diet that go back to 1920's and there is plenty of studies you just have to look for them, the cohort studies the doctor is talking about is a epidemiology cohort studies that again dose not show causation. Have been a carnivore for 7 years now, no plant material , I take 0 supplements. I was a diabetic, had fatty liver disease, irritable bowel syndrome, COPD, asthma, lymes disease, high blood pressure fibromyalgia, was on $ 860.00 worth of medication per month and now I'm on 0 meds and I am 67 years old with perfect blood work ho yes I also reversed my coronary plack I feel better today than when I was in my thirties. So, Doc I don't know what you are talking about as soon as I cut plant material all of my metabolic syndromes went away, including inflation in my joints!
You mean you haven't diet from chronic constipation from no fiber? Your guts haven't imploded? You didn't die of chronic scurvy? lol, I wish ppl would do a little (unbiased) research before they bash low carb diets. Usually it just comes down to ppl who don't want to give up their sugar, sadly.
1) Plaque, not plack. 2) Science in the vast majority, works on studying populations (experimental vs control group) rather than individuals. 3) Red meat is garbage. 4) There are many plant based superfoods that do fantastic things for the body.
I had uric acid 7.5 after i switched to high protein and low carb diet i was worried my uric acid will go through the roof to my surprise it went down to 5.5 lowest i saw in past 20 years .
20 years vegetarien/partly vegan. very sick. Then omnivore + tons of supplements (high dose vitamins - eg>20 gramm vit c a day etc. was necessary to be inflammation free/live my life as good as possible) -> healing started keto - even better now carnivore - no more supplements (only electolytes) and aging backwards/healing unbelievable things (even my cornea on my feet/knies/elbow is gone. Skin like a baby) From head to toe - getting stronger, younger and healthier. (Sardine-fasting plays a big role in my regimen)
Amazing people even talking about carnivore when virtually every week another study comes out supporting vegetarian diets as the most effective at reducing disease.

I tried both plant based and a meat eater. When I was eating animal products, my bloodwork was very unhealthy such as very high and bad cholesterol etc and was sick all the time. You see it in the blood test and feel it too.

You felt better because you removed junk and concentrated on one ítem of food, not directly because you are carnivore. You might have felt better if you started eating just boiled potatoes. Its all because you eliminated toxins from your body. You will eventos feel much better if you ate like the doctor advices.
@@cel4lyfthat’s actually not true. People with issues such as what this guys has does very well on meat because if you get meat from a good source there’s basically nothing in it that your body cannot absorb for nutrients. Potatoes, and other vegetables have defense chemicals all with different amounts that cause them too be less bioavailable when it comes too nutrients. When these defense chemicals enter your gut they can disrupt it too a degree. For some people it can be a lot worse than others. So you cannot say he could have listened too this doctor and be fine. @scoobydadog246 WRONG Dr Fuhrman says in every lecture and every interview that he wants to alleviate human suffering and help people have long, healthy, happy lives. I believe he is sincere. I understand your being skeptical because there are a lot of people out there trying to sell stuff. And yes, Fuhrman does sell his books and a few supplements to help people. Veganism is not some diet you go on, it is a moral stance. You can eat oreos and drink beer all day long and be vegan if you want. What you mean is a plant-based diet.
No, every essential nutrient comes from plants or bacteria, including B12 from bacteria, and omega 3 dha from algae, and various sources of D3 from plants.. I take one that comes from tomato leafs and it really works.
It's also deficient in vitamin A, a large percentage of the population can't convert carotenoids into retinol in sufficient quantities for optimal health.
Wow! Been wondering about this! I am a huge believer in the GBomb way of heathy eating and always wondered what Dr. Fuhrman's take would be on this trend.
I would believe a friend who ate something for 6 months and you see their whole life change verses the others who say do what Ophrah says and can never show improvement.
I tried everything keto carnivore vegan, I was so sick, now I find out that moderation is the key. Calories is still matter, if you eat more than you burn , u get fattttt
So don't understand... If high fat, high sugar, high sodium, high protein, low carb, and dairy are all bad, literally what else is there to eat other than vegetables all day every day. 😭
I followed ketogenic diet for a few years and was going to carnivore. Please do not make my same mistake. I was horribly constipated and my cholesterol skyrocketed. I’m now going whole food plant based and I’m loving it!
how on earth could you get constipated on carnivore? What did you eat? On carnivore my body uses almost everything. Almost no waste coming out (every couple days a spoon full. My lower inestines are almost empty at all times. Maybe you were eating far too much meat/too little fat and the body could not cope? (one needs a certain amount of protein - app. 1 gramm/kg bodyweight. Carnivore is NOT a high protein diet. It is a high fat diet - protein for structure, fat as an energy resource)
Dr. Fuhrman, please do your research! It is absurd what you say. When eating plants, I needed ~ 20 g Vit C + tons of other high fose vitamins, so I could function as good as possible. My mouth/teeth were not stable. Now - 0 Vit C, 0 Multivitamin- first time in >25 years my gums are perfect/teeth do not wobble anymore (I even do not have to brush). My dentist is scratching his head. We tried so many things the past few decades to heal my mouth. Nothing worked. And now - carnivore like a charm.) Just because someone eating an inflammatory plant based diet needs amount X antioxidants to counteract it, does not mean someone who eats an antiinflammatory diet (aka carnivore/lions), needs the same high amount of antioxidants).

Dr. Berg has really helped a lot of people with many things. I experienced many issues over the years and he provided really good data and help! Why drawing him like a sick person?
The issue is always 'what you 're comparing it to... Dr.Berg promotes a whole foods low carb diet, and going from junk foods etc, you will see lots of improvements and its a step in the right direction. You can lose weight and the benefits of losing weight are vast. The problem is when we compare low carb diets to plant based diets, because that's when long term studies keep showing less death in plant based diets. There are many studies that can be found online by just searching 'Low carb life expectancy study. You will be shocked when you start reading the studies(not articles) and seeing the overall trend, because low carb diets in general are not great for longevity, at all.
Beans nuts and seeds create absolute chaos in my digestion, at one point i couldnt even stop myself from going. Im almost entirely plant based aswell but rarely eat beans/nuts/seeds.
Like a muscle, you have to work your way up to digesting some foods. Beans used to give me major gas, but now I eat a lot of them and have no problems whatsoever. You grow the microbiome needed to digest them over time. It also helps to soak beans first (overnight, then rinse before cooking). And even better for your digestion is to sprout them and then eat them either raw or cooked.
this is so clear to me if we look at it from my studies. saturated fat is the cause of so many root causes of disease & meat. There are short term effects to certain diets because you’re cutting out other things. I wish people took time to research everything not just believe in what they eat. My own diet has changed many times to get to the true natural hygene diet I’m on now which makes sense: Not what I want to eat or I’ll fight to say it’s good because of cravings or cultural norms.
If you really look into the science , saturated fat is not the cause of any diseases, nor is meat. You have to read studies carefully with the fats to see what types of fats were looked at.
thanks for your reply I would be interested in you to please explain? The cause of insulin resistance for example (the reason the muscle and liver cells) don’t allow insulin in to let the sugar out of the blood stream is tiny particles of fat. What type of fat do you think it is? This is why the sugar stays in blood stream causing type 2 diabetes. The cause of clogged arteries is fat. What else is it? When I cook meat and say the grease sits in the pan it looks like it turns solid. The majority of the world eats a high meat diet & people are on at least one medication. I’ll be interested to hear your perspective or studies. Carnivore diet might show short term results due to the elimination of processed foods but long term nothing I have read would show beneficial. Not to mention our entire digestive tract is that of a frugivore. So I’m really basing my opinion on these things.
@@VeganowledgeJJ Hi , thank you for your reply also, and it was quick! It sounds like you have done a lot of looking into things and also working with your own diet. That is great, I do believe that not everyone does well with the same diet, nor needs to. I am not concerned about labels. I have a science background, so am able to read and analyze literature, which has been a help, although studies are not always everything, many have flaws. Actually there is debate about what causes type 2 diabetes, but it is not exactly as you describe. I know there is a theory proposed by some that too much fat can be causative, however that is not certain. What happens is that the mitchondria, the organelles where metabolism of the glucose (end product of sugar) takes place become inefficient, that can't process it properly, so it gets backed up. So, the big ? is why this happens, and I don't believe anyone knows for sure; but there are theories. I think definitely just eating TOO much, i.e overloading the system is a factor; i.e there is a strong association of obesity with type 2 diabetes. Too much 'energy' food - fats, carbs anything over time. I don't think it's just fat, or just sugar. Once these mitochondria aren't working well, the blood sugar stays elevated, because of the backlog, and the body is secreting more and more insulin to try to cope with this. Then supposedly the cells become less responsive to the insulin. Of course there are other hormones involved in this, but the metabolism - or flow of the products - both glucose and fatty acids; through the mitochondria is backed up. More insulin doesn't help, because the whole system is just backed up and the blood sugar stays high. This is what I believe to be the most sound explanation. So - this explains why a low carb approach , carnivore or not, works so well for type 2 diabetes. By not taking in much or any glucose, they are bypassing this traffic jam, and the glucose doesn't build up in the blood, so less need for insulin. Fats are now used as the primary fuel. Fatty acids enter the final stage of processing, the electron transport chain a bit further down, and they seem to be more easily used. Ketones are also produced which are used for fuel. So, these diets are not really fixing the problem, but they are getting around it by just avoiding the glucose that the body can't process well. It makes logical sense. Since type 2 diabetes and obesity are the #1 causes of heart disease; and highly correlated with cancer and other problems, it makes sense to reverse this if you can, and people are with low carb diets. One doesn't have to be carnivore. As far as clogged arteries, It doesn't seem that fat is the cause.. although cholesterol is found in plaque, so are other cell types. It seems there is some damage to arterial walls, then that is repaired with cholesterol. There is inflammation involved; also, and calcium deposition. There are so many theories here too, however I do know there is no good evidence that saturated fat, and animal fat is the cause. I don't remember the year.. the 60s, or 70sanimal fat was demonized in order to sell all the manufactured oils. - corn, soy, cotton , etc etc. If you really dig - there is evidence that these fats, which are high in something called linoleic acid; are damaging to the mitochondrial and cell membranes and could be a cause of a lot of problems, not saturated fats (which include coconut oil). Sorry, this is getting long. I can't put links here and don't have any studies handy. A journalist wrote a book called Big Fat Lie, Nina Teicholz is her name, that is a good resource re: the history of the fats, and how they got blamed. I like when journalists or outside sources investigate things, because they are not biased. The problem with YT is that all these drs are promoting their agenda - whatever it is - carnivore, keto, vegan, so they aren't unbiased. It's really hard to get objective information. Sometimes they are partially right, but don't tell the whole story in order to support what they want. I don't think red meat is a problem at all. I also don't think I need to eat only that! I think the main problem, is that we just eat way too much! Way to much of whatever we eat. I don't even know if processed food is inherently bad for us, it just makes it easier to get, easier to eat, so easier to eat more. And of course, always left out is activity /exercise.. . which is just as important. That alone can fix the whole sugar/insulin problem early on!!
@RS-uo2nd He presents a lot of factual, peer reviewed research, so you're choosing to focus on the one thing you don't like. The only way to get information out to the public before social media was to write about it, so yes, he wrote books. Most people don't read, and those who do read are primarily reading at an 8th grade level or below, so nutrition books rarely generate revenue commiserate with the work of writing them. He's not a fraud. He's a great doctor, and I appreciate the work he's put into helping people live better lives. This is one channel out of millions. If you don't like him, keep it pushing.
@@serenityjewel It’s great when he presents factual information. That’s not my problem. My problem is that he presents facts to support his claims for a vegan diet, while providing anecdotal and self reported data to counter others. I believe he is not well intentioned because of this, I think that his primary motivator is selling his own books. He is completely disingenuous. His proposed diet will help many coming off of a standard western diet, but the same person is going to be undernourished and weaker than their counterpart incorporating meat in their diet. He needs to have a unique perspective to sell his methods, so he attacks knowingly good data by referencing bad science. He’s a hack.
@RS-uo2nd He doesn't recommend a vegan diet, so that's your first mistake. He says there's no harm in having 5% of your diet coming from animals. And he presents the evidence that's out there, whether you agree with it or not. A lot of these crazy diets, like the carnivore diet, don't have a ton of research yet. Someone thought them up. However, even in this video, his daughter said there were no actual studies supporting a carnivore diet and he corrected her because there are some short-term studies. Again, almost nobody gets rich from nutrition books. People need information, and the only way to present it is to have a website, create a youtube channel, write books, etc. Does he want people to buy his books? Yes, that's why he wrote them. People need information, and his books are great sources of information.
@@serenityjewel I think you’ve made your mind up when you’ve identified 5% as my mistake. I also don’t think you’re familiar with what he’s telling people. You’re simply restating the parts that I’ve already told you that I don’t disagree with.

Why does this guy keep calling us primates? Is he suggesting that some races are more developed than others? Our digestive system has little to no comparison to primates. After reading leviticas 11 and understanding the Daniel fast (for us Christian believers) I'll stick to my meat. Thinking about the western settlers and how they were able to defeat the native tribes, did they not kill thousands of Buffalo? Or did they mow over all the fruits and vegetables? According to Herodotus, the Persians diet was food grown from dung and the people lived to around 80 while Ethiopians ate boiled meat and lived to be around 120. That "study" is about 2,500 years old. During the british empire, the king made it illegal for the defeated people to hunt for their food and gave out bread to keep the people weak to prevent uprisings in the 13 century. I dont know, maybe there hasn't been enough research
Short term research? Conveniently forgetting millennia on top of millennia of human evolution, as they were lucky if plants even grew for a month or 2 or even at all depending where on the globe they lived. And guess what? We’re all here today. So they did something right.
Add the links to these studies. I think we should be able to read ourselves rather than pick and choose. Dr. Furhman says "this is what it says". I want to read it for myself.
Why don't you just search 'Low carb life expectancy study. There are extremely many. You don't want to be lured by the health benefits of switching from junkfood or weight loss, which can be achieved on all diets and is endlessly used to mislead people. You need to focus your search on life expectancy and keep looking until you realise the overall picture...which is not great for low carb diets or high meat diets. You can also do Meat and life expectancy study...then do beans and life expectancy...and if you are smart, start eating more beans after you realise that the difference is stark
still no liinks. Typical and frustrating. All we have here are youtube wars. This is bad because I say so or this is good because I say so. Typical bullshit.
There's no 'study' in epidemiology. Epi just looks at distribution of disease. The next step is to actually do a study. Epidemiology isn't useless - it's a good first step before doing the hard work of actual science.
This is not true ,I'm a third generation Mexican American and both my parents and grandparents had diabetes from the excessive amount of beans and rice they ate , beans are a peasant food the poor man's protein, full of carbs like rice And flour tortillas which were stables in Mexican food , well me and my generation of grand kids are in our 30 and 40 and we are much healthier than our parents and guess what we are all keto meat based eaters, we are all in great shape and healthy we work out amd eat quality beef and vegetables not one of my siblings or cousins eat beans or rice , i haven't had beans in 20 years, there is a lot of misinformation by evil people who want everyone to be sick , take my word for it carbs are the cause of all disease not meat , beef is the most healthy thing you can eat that's a fact !
Yes, beans and legumes can be dangerous, you have to soak them in water prior to get rid of the free radicles, and yes you are healthy now (and even your bloods will show everything is fine) but have you even considered checking his sources? Not to mention do these people not sound like they have some decent common sense by the way they articulate themselves, you know what I mean? One example of the keto diet in practice is the Eskimos in Antarctica, there is no food there besides meat, and guess their life expectancy? 50.. and before you say it's because of the climate, that is false, the human body can adapt to the climate very easily (we have been for millions of years). So be open minded and don't conclude your entire argument on an anecdote of 4 people, it may save your health l.
Fact of the day: There are currently 17,000 centenarians alive in Spain. Four out of every five centenarians are women. Specifically, the confluence of the provinces of Pontevedra, Ourense and Lugo (Galicia) has the highest concentration of people over 100 years of age in Spain and is a candidate to be among the longest-lived areas of the planet. In the village of Riello (León), with only 600 inhabitants, there are up to five people born before 1924; in Rábano de Aliste (Zamora), with 320 inhabitants, there are three; in Cabeza del Caballo (Salamanca), with 248 inhabitants, there are another three. Right now, the oldest person on the planet is the Catalan María Branyas, who turned 117 in March in a nursing home in Olot (Girona), but the current ranking of super centenarians, managed by the Gerontology Research Group, shows flags from all over the world. All of them are women.

I made probably "standard" journey. Step 1: eating lots of processed sugar/flour foods - messing up the gut and the brain (and some weight gain, but not too much). Step 2: wanting to feel better/lose weight - moving to low carb / keto. Dropped the weight, felt better for some time, but it was still very difficult to fight food addiction, got occasional relapses back to sugar/fat combo. Eventually relapse extended to one year, with more emphasis on fat, especially diary products, eggs. Ended up with LDL 140, +20 kg from ideal weight of BMI 19, 22% body fat. Step 3. Almost by coincidence (Netflix) got info about WFPB and Nutritarian diet, went overnight and after 6 months body fat 12% (goal 10%), BMI 19.5, no impact to muscle strenght and endurance. I am still angry at myself for Step 2...but yeah, learned from my mistakes, so to say. PS. this time I wanted really to base my decision to change diet with science, so I studied a lot, books, courses, scientific literature, etc etc. I have never thought that there is such HUGE amount of info and evidence pointing to the 99% same conclusion (I guess the only deviation is % of calories from nuts, seeds and avocado's). I will be forever grateful for Dr. Fuhrman and his message to the world.
Way to go on your incredible health transformation! I'm so happy to hear that my nutritarian approach has made such a positive difference in your life. Trust me, you're not alone in the struggle against food addiction and the confusion caused by all the competing dietary theories out there. The journey isn't always a straight line, but what matters is that you kept learning, stayed curious, and ultimately landed on a way of eating that is truly backed by science. The results speak for themselves - you're looking and feeling fantastic! Keep embracing those whole plant foods and living your best life. I'm honored to play a small part in your success story. And thank you for keeping explaining so clearly what food addiction is and how to fight it. Nobody so far was able to have such a clear and understandable message.
Maybe an interview with him will verify what he says about a proper human diet. Just because he eats only meat doesn’t mean he enforces it to everyone. Getting rid of the junk is what he recommends same as the other carnivore influencers. Also follow Thomas Seyfried on his cancer research with a low carb diet. Very interesting info. you can eat oreos and drink beer all day if you want and be vegan. Veganism has nothing to do with health, it is a moral stance. There is a huge difference between vegan and plant-based.

Even a "healthy" omnivore diet without processed foods often leads to health issues.

By the way, dr. Fuhrman is not emaciated. I've met him. He is very alert physically and mentally.

Vegans are cult, was one for 3 years and never again.Bullshit diet not for humans ,period!
this is so clear to me if we look at it from my studies. saturated fat is the cause of so many root causes of disease & meat.

There's no 'study' in epidemiology. Epi just looks at distribution of disease. The next step is to actually do a study. Epidemiology isn't useless - it's a good first step before doing the hard work of actual science.
There's zero science to support the dietary guidelines or anything that dieticians recommend.
😊

That's because woman have higher cholesterol levels so they live longer.
People see weight lose and then ignore doctors compleley.
I think its a fun hobby too learning how to feed the machine aiming for micronutrients
We survived the ice age?
Yes, precisely by growing beans, nuts, seeds & rice in the snow. Didn't you know that?
Well obviously we survived the ice age or we wouldn't be here would we😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I don't recall any keto doctors say to not eat vegetables, Quite the opposite, the ones I've listened to say to eat a lot of vegetables. I think I have been believing that saturated fat is just fine, but I've shifted my view on that. I like your diet advice, and before learning about Nutritarian eating I had already started eating a big salad for my first meal, full of greens, olives, a bit of feta or blue cheese,, hemp hearts, and nuts and seeds. I also intend to eat more beans. :I didn't know eating them every day would curb the gas production. Thank you for such interesting lectures. I have cut way down on meat as a result. The food I'm not sure about is potatoes. We eat both regular potatoes and sweet potatoes
Dr Anthony Chaffee eats no plants, and that's what he promotes and teaches. He says "plants are trying to kill you". There's a video with that title, and I think he wrote a book with that same title. I don't know how you missed him on RUclips. Dr Berry says the same. It's crazy. These guys must be funded by the meat industry.
How did you miss Dr Anthony Chaffee, who says, "Plants are trying to kill you"? He's all over RUclips and so is Dr Berry, who promoted the same thing: no plants. It's crazy. They must be paid by the meat industry.
And you don't have to eat white potatoes. They are low in nutrients and Dr Fuhrman doesn't recommend them much. Get your starch from beans.
And leave out the feta in your salad. Dairy is deadly.
The SAD is so horrible an Oreo diet is an improvement.
I want to see the studies becuse if that is real i don't mind going back into another lifestyle.to whatever save my life.

And so do I. 🐒

Can you explain what the china study did for medical reseach and was it a good guide for food science ?
Nothing. It was not science at all. It was an observational survey.
The China study was debunked before it was written. The real China study was done in 1960, have you read it?
It’s excellent but the facts take time to reach the mainstream, as with tobacco.
@@dj.h7424 The facts didn't take long to find out Colin Campbell did a study in which he fed genetically modified rodents with isolated protein found in milk (not a whole food) in non physiological doses and then poisoned them with aflatoxin derived from mold found on plants which resulted in faster cancer growth in casein group he concluded that animal proteins cause cancers in humans. That's why Colin Campbell has a lifetime of no awards, honors or Nobel Prize because his book was debunked before it was written.
It would be great if the interviewer had some expertise. Why doesn’t he talk to Dr. Rhonda Patrick, or Dr. Peter Attia? Both experts, both disagree with him on carnivore consumption and protein needs.

Here's to your amazing health!

@@drfuhrman thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. And not only mine, because my 8 and 9 year old daughters, seeing my transformation and some of your videos (they are not native English speakers, but understand most of the message) decided also go Nutritarian and even made their school to introduce plant based menu option (still fighting excess of olive oil in it).
Also follow
