I found just adding fruits and vegetables while eliminating processed foods, dairy and sugar, was enough of a change the weight started dropping pretty rapidly.
I am going to try this! Thanks
What did you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?
Same here...
I’m ALL in! Been eating a large salad everyday. Stopped consuming Oil, dairy and sugar. So far I no longer have my chronic sinus issues etc. Thank you,
Dr Fuhrman!
How are you doing now? Have you been continuing the diet? Made an modifications?
Ого, хорошо!
Oh Kimberly ur face is shining like a sunflower
I love Dr.Furhman. I rewatch his videos over and over again.
The bride wasn’t happy at first. I dug up her lawn and planted 15 blackberries, 15 blueberries, 8 grape vines, and just took a cutting from the neighbor’s huckleberry tree I’m starting indoors for the winter. In the fall I buy a case of cranberries and freeze the lot. I chop my own rhubarb into the mix and count them as berries. I have breakfasts covered for the year. ❤️
You should have never gotten married. Women have no real value to offer men.
Beautiful ❤
I’ve found that salads caused me insomnia, after I changed to cooked vegetables with lots of ginger and garlic, with Chinese red dates. I am sleeping better. I am no longer feeling cold all the time. I have given this receipt to my friend and they loved it too.
Interestingly ginger is a stimulant to most people unless used gingerly & can really increase the heart rate significantly.
I'm following you all the way Dr. Furhman , loving it so much too! 3 years now.
Thank you Dr. Furnan! Your video is such a mitzvah as I need to lose 175 pounds and your video template helps me better understand the nutritarian framework your books talk about. 🤗
Yeah 🎉🎉🎉
Dr Fuhrman outstrips all the other plant based doctors and that's saying something because they are all amazing.
He’s outstanding. I’m sucked into everything he says about eating.
MD's have always needed to deepen their allopathic knowledge with nutritional science. Fuhrman is our contemporary answer to preventing allopathic bad habits & building proper lifestyle habits for the masses.
Dr Fuhrman, I am so grateful for your teaching! I have learned so much from you through your books and videos! thank you ❤
Great video where you break down the meals and make it simple! I make things too complicated by trying to get every single nutrient every single meal, it's just impossible and defeating. And then I give up! Thanks again. I am going to simplify things and cut some calories. Hoping that will move the scale finally
I am Carol Burgess and live in Arkansas. We, my husband and I are in our late 50’s. My husband had a triple bypass and lost all his muscle and fat. He is now a skeleton and looking like he can’t hold up his own lack of weight. The doctors put him on a plant-based diet, and he is trying. The big problem is he needs fat. He does a cardio workout every other two days and uses some weights with it. I believe that is what saved him, he worked out his whole life, even the doctor said he had a strong heart. He needs to stay away from oils, processed foods. How can I get some weight on him with healthy foods?
Thank you so much, I am at a loss. I have your books.
Carol Burgess
I'm no doctor but some people need more fat in their diet than others. Everyone is different.
Maybe healthy fats like avacado, fatty fish, salmon, mackerel, nuts, some types of seeds, flaxseed, you also buy healthy oils in dark glass jars in the refrigerated section that are healthy omega fatty oils.
Meat
organic grass-fed and finished
Nuts, seeds, avocados, healthy whole fats from plants. No meat. Saturated fat is unhealthy.
@@darlenepopinchalk1508No oils! Listen to what Dr Fuhrman says about oils. Get healthy fats from nuts, seeds, avocados.
2 frozen bananas, mixture of frozen berries, maybe a cup so, cinnamon, a tall glass of water (adjust based on consistency), and 2 tablespoons of raw oats, into a blender, and it makes this delicious ice-cream-like smoothie that you can pour over some other raw oats or grain with your seeds.
Less water makes it more creamy like ice cream and tastes better. If you peel your bananas and freeze them in a container then you can just use them in your smoothies and they taste incredibly delicious.
The most delicious breakfast.
The bananas are really what gives it that sweetness and I found 2 instead of 1, when frozen, gave it a delicious taste and texture. You don’t need any dates or other sweetener, the banana is sweet enough provided it was ripe before frozen.
Alternatively you can use the 2 frozen bananas or 3 frozen bananas with some finely chopped up dates, maybe a teaspoon or two of cocoa powder, or adjust based on preference, and some water, maybe a half tall glass, depending on your desired consistency, and some raw oats, all in a blender, and this makes a delicious desert.
The idea of oats in the blender is to sort of make an oat milk-on-the-go.
The more creamy the texture the tastier.
Just make sure your blender can handle the frozen fruit, ideally 1200W +. Be careful if it is 400-800W. I’m not sure how 800-1000W blenders handle frozen fruit.
Yes it's wonderful! I also use frozen fruits to make healthy ice-cream. I just add a little bit of organic unsweetened soy milk and sometimes a couple of cashews for extra creamy texture! Many variations are possible !
Thank you 🙏
I make a chocolate "frosty" with 1 sliced frozen banana, 1 cup soy milk, 1/2 cup rinsed cooked black beans no added salt, 1/2 cup frozen cauliflower florets, and 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder. I use a ninja blender. You may need to add a little more water. I also add 4 ice cubes to make it more icy. For more sweetness add 2 pitted soaked dates and their soaking water. This is so delicious. I pour it into a huge insulated cup. Sometimes I add less water and eat it with a spoon. You don't taste the cauliflower or beans at all. My friend adds a dash of cinnamon for a Mexican chocolate effect. Sometimes I add a drop or two of pure almond extract for a Hershey Almond Bar effect. Riced frozen cauliflower doesn't work as well so be sure to go for florets.
Throw in some leafy greens.
I went raw for 1 month.. best I ever felt. I'm now eating cooked foods again though because my fiance said he'd eat like me if it were cooked.
For salads, may not be ideal for everyone’s weight-loss goals, but I find that the soup/stew that I’ve made, consistening of legumes of different beans and lentils and my tomato for the base with 2 onions, garlic ginger, broccoli, cauliflower, maybe starchy veg like sweet potato and butternut for taste, with mushrooms, and chopped up carrots, spinach, and maybe some other veg like maybe a beet or something else, with a lot of spice like cumin, turmeric, coriander, maybe some cayenne for heat, and some curry powder like masala and garam masala, becomes an easy ‘salad dressing.’ I just pour over my soup/stew on my green leafy veg, mostly lettuce as it’s delicious, and perhaps you can add your chopped up red onions and tomato and mix it with your seeds.
It’s an easy way to get your salad in if you don’t have a salad dressing that works for you. Probably more calories though so depends on your specific goals, but for me the soup/stew is so tasty that it’s a lot easier to eat my salad mixed with it.
This is aside from my bowl of soup/stew on its own without the salad, which I usually have during breakfast after I’ve had my smoothie.
Then I’ll just eat a plum and an apple after my salad as desert and maybe another fruit, else I’m satisfied.
Thanks for making it simple with G-BOMBS. I've lost over 60 pounds since I started in January. My blood pressure has dropped down to the low hundred over sixty to seventy mark. Blood panel has improved too. I've read eight of your books. I read something of yours everyday as a reminder why I'm eating this way. I feel great. I'm looking forward to seeing what my ideal weight will be. I feel great. Thanks again for keeping it simple.
@@feliciacampbell2629January 2023?! Wow!!
@@AidanAngelo Yes, it's been almost 6 months. I was not trying to lose fast. I just followed the plan as I understood it. I was weighing daily in the beginning, but now I weigh in on Mondays and Fridays in the morning before breakfast.

That sounds yummy. Thanks for the idea

This is such great info! I now see where I am going wrong with my plan. Thanks so much!
Where were you going wrong? Just curious.

Absolutely amazing advice, I feel so motivated now! I'm ready to get started right now. Thank you Dr Fuhrman!
You are such a great guy. Thank you so much for this great advice
Dr Furhman what are your thoughts about people with thyroid issues should not be eating cruciferous vegetables?
Thank you! This was wonderful!!!
Thank you so much Dr. Fuhrman. I think I can follow this way of eating. If I do lose 10 kilos I will definitely get in contact with you to let you know how pleased I am.
This was such good info. Thank you
Hmmm. I have similar needs as the person he's addressing, and I am already vegetarian and don't have a sweet tooth. My issue is that I find oats disgusting (familial trauma where plain oatmeal has been used as a punishment), I don't want to eat much fruit, the meal plan he describes is expensive where I am and don't have access to a garden, and where are the beans?!?! I guess hummus is SOMETHING but beans are one of the best ways for me to get protein and satiation. Also my salt cravings will have me reaching for potato chips if he wants everything to be unsalted. What are some recommendations that could accommodate my needs?
Eat barley instead of oats or even mix them together. There are many good grains that you can eat.
He talks about soup, that’s where I put the beans or lentils for the protein and satiation. I also put brown rice in with my beans and lentils.
Someone else talked about putting rinsed unsalted black beans in with frozen banana, cocoa and fruit to make an ice cream which sounds delicious and would be satisfying and filling. I’m gonna try that one!
Absolutely, Dr Fuhrman is all about the beans... his weight loss book includes them in his soup with lunch and in every dinner. He mentions this at 8:26 for the soup. He is addressing weight loss here and highlighting the low calorie density of veggies for meals. GBOMBS for the win :)
You usually say that you're against foods that boost metabolism, but it could help for fat loss. Capsaisin containing foods and whatnot.
Video about the presence of the Uric acid and the creatine would be appreciated. Thank U.
Love you.. thanks 👍
Dr Fuhrman, I'm a 65 yr old female and post gastric bypass from 2006 -I have diverticulitis and can't do a lot of seeds I weigh 243 and 5'2" don't like mushrooms, not too fond of salads. I gained 70 pounds after adopting my grandson and forgetting about my own health over the years. What kind of plan would you suggest to be able to get the protein I really need because of my post gastric bypass?
A great reminder!!
Fantastic information.
So grateful for this. Where does whole grain breads or any bread fit into this? What about tofu/tempeh? What about those who crave sweets terribly, are there any friendly desserts that would fit in such as fruit crisps, etc? This has been my biggest obstacle.
Try a fruit smoothie or ice cream using soy milk, berries, couple raw cashews, dates add wonderful sweetness. Dates are sweet and chewy.
I had bad cravings for sweets right when I’d get off work at 3 pm. When I added guacamole to my lunch those cravings completely stopped!!
For my body, I need to reduce carbs. I have always been successful if i reduce carbs to 20 to 50 grams a day.
My concern is getting enough protein to keep muscle mass. How do we ensure this on this eating plan ???
More beans especially Soy. It’s like the vegans answer to Carnivory. It has more saturated fat, lycine, and concentration of protein than most beans.
You can get protein from nuts. Legumes, seeds, lots of B vitamin in nutritional yeast (so yummy, tastes like cheese). Think about it...cows eat grass and hay, no meat at all and they have muscles.
@@darlenepopinchalk1508 Yes however they have been caught on camera munching down on the occasional bird that lands on their nose. So do horses and chimpanzees. Plus all the tiny bugs they ingest in the grass by mistake. Only humans can afford to be strict vegans lol
Dr Fuhrman, I'm in South Africa and I'm planning to lose 120lbs in a year. Will send you an email.
Thank you 😊
I worry about hanging skin, especially on the face with that quick of weight loss. How do you deal with that?
Does this process also eliminate the excess skin after weight loss?
What about seasonings????
these videos are so good.
Anyone know why unsweetened soy milk is the best choice if overweight? (Said around 4:30). I lean towards almond milk because it’s easier to make. And I make it thinner - so I would think my almond milk would be lower in calories than soy milk. is there something about soy milk for weight loss that I don’t know? (Or maybe I misunderstood what he said? Tho listened twice!). thx
It might be that soy has protective anti-cancer properties and good protein.
Only ORGANIC soy.
Also,if you build kidney stones avoid almond milk (even hand made), too high oxalates
So no oil salt or dairy ?
People need to take personal responsibility for their life and health.
The general over all health of people has declined the last few decades.
Even children today have signs of artery disease. Fast foods and sugary drinks have long term consequences.
There is an obesity epidemic today where over 60% of the population is overweight or obese.
What is common today and "NORMAL" is not healthy. The average person today is not healthy and is taking medications.
Heart attacks were once only common in people over 65. Today people in their 40 are having heart attacks.
Add more plants and vegetables to your diet and less junk and overly processed foods. Being thin is a sign of good health. Being over weight or obese is a sign of bad health. Poor diet, lack of exercise and obesity are contributing to high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
What do you think of tabouli salad ?it has scallions in summer
What are your ingredients
I have never been able to eat fruit nuts..........I break out in huge hives........I have all my 63 years, even as a baby. I do eat seeds, and apples......watermelon, berries, peaches and coconut are really bad with me.
its so much work
Have a look at Jeff Novick's recipes. His meals take 10 minutes to make and taste good. Google Jeff Novick's 10 fast food recipes. He is WFPB no SOS like Dr. Furman. I make 2 of Novick's recipes each weekend and portion/freeze them. I buy boxes of ready to eat lettuce, bags of frozen veggies. I keep Ezekiel bread in my freezer. I also cook up whole wheat pasta and rice to portion and freeze. Then I am never more than 5 minutes away from a healthy meal. Initially it seems hard but over time it's the easiest way of eating.
Should we drive to McD’s and eat in the car instead??
@@gladedweller😂😂😂 hilarious
Try having 1c berries, 2 Tbsp of dry oats, the almond milk and 1 Tbps of seeds: you will be ravenous in 30 minutes and crave all the foods you should not eat…
😂😂😂 you should start with leafy greens or streamed green/cruciferous veggies. Then have the smoothie.
I agree that’s why I up the oats to one cup and one cup soy milk. That cuts appetite for 4 hours in my fast metabolism body. Try it.
@@sheri8048Put the leafy greens IN the smoothie! That lasts me for hours!
Agreed. Eating the SAD diet hijacks our taste buds and satiety signals. This program takes time to undo all the damage. If you stick with it, you will eventually heal. It is a process. Good Luck :)

The first month was a pretty miserable transition but after that it was awesome. Super easy.
Best part was that I finally lost my cravings for carbs and snacks.

Dr. Fuhrman there are more than two ways to skin a cat. I don't believe entirely not to eat fruit or maybe once in a blue moon some vegetables. However, when I do eat those foods, I get arthritis and sometimes I get a bad stomach especially if I eat vegetables. I'm of the mindset of Dr. Anthony chaffee and Dr. Ken Berry. Who ibelieve will outlive you.
Don't be a big fat jerk!
I'll be watching, who outlives who . Odd thing to be competitive about
@@meman6964 it is odd however, how many people who claim to have gone complete carnivore have gotten off all their statins and meds and their blood pressure has normalized. It seems to me something is rot in Denmark, the standards of fruits and grains I think that's what's killing us. Honestly too much is no good, we are meant to eat meat. We are gathering by nature and history.
I feel this is legit for some people. The problem both cat skinners are doing is imposing their bias on everyone else instead of accepting we are all unique individuals with unique bodily needs. Vegans vs Carnivores has become like a war over whose religion is better. No such thing…
Love this information. It’s super helpful! I’m going to get started this week!🤍🤍🤍
