Thanks to this channel and Trustpilot reviews, I avoided a dodgy 'DPF Cleaning' company, and am now booked in at Halfords with my XC70. I went in to book it, and the young man at the counter knew exactly what I was talking about, when I asked about the glow plugs, and when I mentioned this channel, he even knew about it! Anyway, I take it in in a couple of days; that's a clean, regeneration and diagnostic for £35, bargain! Of course I've subbed, in gratitude as much as anything else.
Jimmy your video saved my hide. My 2nd DPF sensor was faulty so got a 3rd one. This time went over all your info.....and learned that the 2nd one was a dud.....it gave erroneous readings. Cleared codes....strangely the glow plug controller code went away....it could be a related code to DPF sensor signal high.....who knows.
I was getting increasingly regular ‘soot filter full’ messages, a short run up the carriageway would clear it but would come back again a week later if I hadn’t done much driving. Then more recently started getting ‘ecm135f - mass air flow’ and could hear whistling under acceleration. Noticed last year when servicing that my turbo resonator was weeping round the orange seals so bought a silicone replacement and finally got round to fitting it last week, not had any issues since! Better performance in the lower revs now too…
Had 0 boost and soot filter full message on my XC90 recently, had the DPF filter cleaned off car, still 0 boost, fault traced to turbo actuator arm disconnected due to C clip falling off !!!! after removing top engine brace actuator arm was more accessible but almost impossible to fit new C clip. Eventually reshaped a brake pin R clip and slipped it on to the actuator shaft using pointed nosed pliers, full boost restored. Done 300mls since but carry a couple of spare R Clips just in case
nice job, just had to replace dpf sensor on my renault espace iv right down the back of engine so you have to get it from underneath through a small opening, what a poxy job all day to get one 10mm nut off and then found one of the three wires that goes to it was stripped bare so fingers crossed this hasn't shorted and damaged something else, tomorrow will tell.
Hi mate, Do you take egr valve and cooler off car,s too clean ? Would you if you was paid to do it? Volvo V40 D4 r design 2.0 diesel year 2014... Volvo grave yard where is that? 1:56
Hi, I would like to know what and why you are putting this fluid in that hose? My Cat is clean. But I have the same problem that you are working on, turbo low pressure. Many thanks!
Jimmy, is there someway you can post or send me the MSDS (SDS I think in the UK) on the Launch UK particulate filter cleaner. Even just a link to where I can download it would be helpful I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Likely its unavailable on purpose so you cant replicate the product or buy the raw chemicals for cheaper maybe try email launch uk if you can find contact details
@@sbrader97 generally, they do try to hide them somewhat. I don't know about in UK but in USA they are required for purchasing and use. Currently, they are not selling a similar product in USA and I'd like to see which hazards are causing this, or if this is just because they haven't done testing for other regions.
@@sbrader97 I tried emailing them 5+ times asking about the MSDS, radio silence - absolutely nothing back ;) But you inquire about buying something they respond right away...
@@ORileysAutos I'll be reaching out to you and seeking to have you look at and fix my DPF issue once and for all. PSA: Halford's DPF flush is not a proper DPF flush, they do the aforementioned and also they don't reset any codes or the DPF service interval...

Hello I get a hissing sound from are of air filter when taking my foot of pedal. Do you know what this could be? Thanks
That little cheapo tuning box I see cable tied to the brace bar will be the route of the problem
