This is a version of Mac King’s trick on Penn and Teller where someone gives the magician a dollar bill, then he tears it in pieces, keep one and flush the rest, then he opens the tank and the dollar bill is there missing only one piece, the one he kept in the beginning.

You are wrong. Mac did not use any offstage assistant. Not only is there an explanation that does not involve an assistant, he even specifically mentioned this in his RUclips show.
