Very likely it won't fry the cable. Worse would be if it fries the NVR or at least the port it's plugged into.
The canmera's dead for whatever reason. One thing I did notice, those pins, even though you cleaned them, still look dirty. It's possible it's still that. My recommendation would be to get s small container and put some white vinegar in there. Let the Ethernet connector on the camera soak for a couple of minutes. Take it out, drush it with a nylon-bristled brush (or toothbrush if you don't have one that fits). Rinse with water, then let it dry for a good hour or two. Try one more time. If it still doesn't work, it's the camera for sure.
Another recommendation, if you feel inclined to go and viist all of the cameras, is to put some dieletric grease in each Eithernet connector. Works just like on a car battery, the metal is porous. The grease fills in the low spots, when you plug it in, anything that makes contact makes contact and squeezes the rest of the grease out. The grease keeps it more waterproof. I have the grease in that tub, and have used it for that. Doesn't work on sunroofs though...
The separate barrel jack connector is for separate power, in the event the setup it's connected to doesn't supply PoE, or Power Over Ethernet.

The cameras need a cleaning when the weather gets warmer. If that NVR fries I'll pissed.

They don't build anything to last anymore.
