Not a bad list, but my heart remains with the Settlers series. Such a beautiful game with interesting mechanics. I need to get this game going again. Such a shame we have no modern remake for it.

It is a pity that Supreme Commander, a successful and leading strategy game that has received many awards, is not on the list. I live in Turkey, my mother worked in the market and tolerated her son buying a few games a week. That game I bought was a really good choice and I have never regretted it. I just found pleasure. When I finished the story on the hard setting for the first time, the last day I had to protect the source had 1 percent health left :D It was a very exciting fight, but don't ask me how hard I struggled to pass the 2nd part for another minute! :) I don't know a foreign language and the difficulty of the game was struggling, but I finally found this game really deserves respect and today I made a new friend love this game " supreme commander 2 " is a really nice game. If the company that made the game had a long life, it would be updated like age of empires 4 today. maybe we could see a good game, maybe supreme commander 3 can see this game one day, those who made it are still alive! I was 13 years old when I bought the game and now I'm 25 :) I'm still playing the first game yes it's not like a pro, it's even far away but that's the goal, isn't it? having fun realizing the stories we have in mind I don't know how much I can write about this game but I know it's a good game ..

Supreme Commander Forged alliance by many dubbed the best RTS of all time is not on a top 30 list? Released 2007 and still has a very active player base, not sure if I can take that list serious. Sure the games on the list are good games and many should be on the list but not having Total Annihilation nor Supreme Commander on this list I mean come one...
Master of Magic, a game from 1994, upgraded to the recent Windows version and Caster of Magic DLC. A game with a strategic depth, challenge, and replayability that is almost unparalleled.
Still play it to this day. Countless hours spent playing MOM back in the day. I got it for my 486-33Mhz, and it has never been uninstalled through all my systems over the years, even on my current Ryzen 5600X.
Surprising that Empire Total War, Medieval II Total War and Napoleon Total War didn't make the list. Still a great list though. I absolutely love XCOM 2, one of my favorites, and obviously the Age of Empires series, but especially II (remastered)and IV

Loved strongholds. The only problem I ever had with RTS games is that they usually devolve into just pointing and clicking without much time for strategy. That or I just sucked at them.
İ look for a game when soldiers have stars on their head for their levels , and you can choose each soldiers outfit separately. Your initial building was in hexagon shape then in each side you build another building.
the problem with that list is that "strategy" is a very wide game description. If you put RTS, TBS, Total War-style hybrid, 4X, and simulation games in it then you have way too many games to choose from and a top 30 is meaningless. It's not a bad list but some of them I have never heard of. And no Starcraft 1, AoE2, Total Annihilation, and only one C&C game ?

bit more niche but heroes 4 had a REALLY interesting hero system where heroes were actual units on the combat maps which made for some strategic choices weighing diffrently. Did you make a army support hero, magic or combat powerhouse. I would also say that age of empires 2 trumphs 4 but for the rest yea pretty accurate. Red alert 3's units had some interesting choices made as well as every single one had seconday modes.
There are so many games out of the list, you should do a second part, with recommended games from the comments below ❤ I recommend commando's saga and fallout tactics too 👌
Disciples Liberation should have been included instead of Disciples Renaissance. While you do only get to have Avy as your main char in Liberation, the fact that you can mix and match units from four distinct races more than makes up for it. Also, having specific buildings in Ylian constructed while at tiers three and four gives a bonus depending on the building, and you can also swap them out for a price, making it easy to adapt to any kind of situation, or the composition of your troops.
"Disciples Liberation" shouldn't be called a "Disciples" and both that and Disciples 3 shouldn't be here. Also Warcraft 3 should not be here. Instead there should be Starcraft 1 and Heroes 5
Glad you put Civilization 6 in this video! In my opinion the best is 5 but I like 6 too! Unfortunately this game is far too underrated for the fun it can provide.😢

sorry Frostpunk not a strategy game but a puzzle game as there is a lack of options to achieve the goal - you have to solve the puzzle of what to build and when. C&C should be included as it was the first mainstream and started everything that followed (red alert 2 was the tweak but Tiberium was better). Stronghold Legends is the best Stronghold game. Blitzkrieg 3 or 4 is missing. Earth 2150 is often missed but it expanded the game play and weapons type like no other before it - play below ground etc, nuke an area, etc

When he would have died, you would have to send any of your units near him and he would have ressurected) if any of you know the game, please tell me the name

C&C should be included as it was the first mainstream and started everything that followed (red alert 2 was the tweak but Tiberium was better). Stronghold Legends is the best Stronghold game. Blitzkrieg 3 or 4 is missing. Earth 2150 is often missed but it expanded the game play and weapons type like no other before it - play below ground etc, nuke an area, etc
I remember I had a game like this but I do not remember the name. I wish I could find it again (the game had something like an Immortal guy with a spear? When he would have died, you would have to send any of your units near him and he would have ressurected) if any of you know the game, please tell me the name
My favourite games are Age of Mythology and Age of Empires 4. Now I am playing Age of Empires 4.

Есть ещё хорошая такая игра, Supreme Commander называется. Она в 2007 выходила, но жива по сей день. А видео сделано хорошо и самому вдруг захотелось в стратега помутузить. Хорошая работа!

@@AKU666 Да есть имхо в ней главный минус в перегруженности юнитами, не количеством а разнообразием. В Супримке как то все более лаконично и от этого интереснее. Но с дугой стороны это субъективщина.
