Great video Alan. Still have 2 unopened 2022 and my local store just got 4 for in so going to get another one or two. Be happy to have more so I don’t have to nurse my open bottle We won’t see the 2023 for awhile where I live so hopefully when I travel I can find a couple.
Great review buddy and you nailed it! Have the '21 and '22 and probably won't go for the '23 at this point, but very happy with the two I do have - Cheers!
Cheers Drew sorry for the late reply my friend im away on holiday getting some winter sun...yes there all fantsstic and if your good with batch 1 you will be ok with the 2023...and there is plenty of it out there. Thanks for dropping by and i hope your well my friend....
Thanks! I don't see many blind tastings on youtube, maybe because folk are a bit scared of embarrassing themselves, which is daft! I recently did a blind test of 7 sherried whiskies including NAS up to 15 year olds, and it was a real challenge of my own preconceptions of what was my favourite, the best, or best value. So it could be a unique feature of your channel. All the best. Cheers!
Great stuff Al - watched this whilst drinking the red one 😁. It’s great they’ve embraced big variation between the releases …rather than trying to manufacture a single profile. Gotta admire that. All the best !!!
Great comparison. I have the 22 & 23 and love them both. Which I like best depends on the moment. I loved the 22 so much that I was hesitant on the 23 because I'd heard it was not just like the 22. Then I realized that the batch variation could be a good thing. And it is. If I want a sherry bomb, I will have the 22 (while it lasts). If I want the sherry toned down a bit, the 23 is a fabulous dram. Can't go wrong, either way. If I had to pick exclusively between the two, and thank goodness I don't, I'd have to lean towards the 22, it is just so special.
The sherry notes are somewhat amped on all 3 CS bottles, and that may be due simply to higher ABV. But the ‘22 is mega-sherry. Probably wet casks. What’s weird is that I’m not that big on sherry bombs, yet the ‘22 is best to me, and maybe the best whisky I tried in ‘22.
@@xiamengbaby The latest is still very good. I’d pay $100, but I’m pretty loose with my whisky cash. Depends on one’s budget. You can still find ‘22 out there from UK online shops, if they’ll ship to your location.
@utoobia thanks for the feedback. $100 is about my limit for a bottle these days. I'll probably pick up the 2023. If I get lucky and find a 2022 locally, I'll get one of those, too. Importing one from the UK will probably cost an arm and a leg. My state (Illinois) also has restrictions on liquor shipments from out of state (state politicians have to protect the sales of local distributors who are deep in their pockets).
Just picked up the 2023 for $72usd! (I had a -$10 coupon so really $82). It's a little hot at first. It's nuttier than i expected. Can't wait to see how it opens up. Hey Alan, the 2022 or the 2019 Kilkerran 8yr 😂???
Wow...you know thats a tough one for me, 2 of my whiskies of the year...its been a wee while since ive had the kilkerran 8 2019 might need to revisit that one fella...thanks for dropping by
Alan, Everyone wants to see a BunnaBattle! Great job. Only have the 2022 and loving it. Cheers!!
Just cracked open a 2023. I never got to try the '22 but this stuff is lovely.
Great review Alan! Love the new 2023! Nursing my 2022 as I can’t find it here in the States! Not all UK online stores ship to the States. Thank you!
Totally agree that we need more blind tastings. It alao eliminates any bias. Well done Alan.
Great video Alan.

Fantasic Alan! We need more blind tastings when it comes to malt whisky reviews on RUclips. Set the standard.
I will do my very best to do a few more in 2024...thanks for dropping by my friend...
Love the Cask Strength!!! Happy Holidays
There all fantastic Marty....all so alike yet so different...batch variation, you gotta love it...
Solid walkthrough. I think I would take any of them, but certainly would love that 2022. Cheers!
Thanks for dropping by Jon...there all fantastic, similar and at the same time all different....

Brilliant review ... really like the format where you compare 3 similar expression, very useful. All the best from Suffolk. Cheers!

Have only tried the 2021. So no verdict from my side.

2021 - 85 points
Just my opinion, folks. The ‘22 is an amazing whisky.
And interestingly enough, the ‘22 is the only one that produces scotch mist with water. A LOT of mist!
Its banger fella.. its like full blown storm in the glass with water added...thanks for dropping by..
How does the sherry intensity on the cask strength bottles compare to the sherry on the standard 12?
The sherry notes are somewhat amped on all 3 CS bottles, and that may be due simply to higher ABV. But the ‘22 is mega-sherry. Probably wet casks. What’s weird is that I’m not that big on sherry bombs, yet the ‘22 is best to me, and maybe the best whisky I tried in ‘22.
@@utoobia Thanks. I missed out on the first two batches but I see the newest batch available for $100 (US). Is it worth it?
