Great segment. Agree with you guys that expensive trade up to Pk 3 is the right move for Vikings. Would you agree that trading up for to Pk 4 - 10 Pk range for the 2nd tier QBs is a really bad outcome. Problem is, any GM or Head Coach obviously has a huge incentive to take a swing at Pennix or McCarthy to give themselves time. Just hope KOC & Kwesi don't trade up extra draft capital from 11 to do it. What say you?

I'd be absolutely THRILLED to get Nix and Byron Murphy Jr.

in order for a team to make a deep playoff run, it has to be great in the trenches. You have to have a top 5 O-line and D-Line. All of the intense focus on a fancy quarterback is really not helping. If nothing else, if the Vikings can fortify the O-Line and D-Line thru the draft, it can be enough to allow Sam Darnold to win enough games to be near .500, which is where 50 million dollar Cousins was last year. Then build from there in 2025.

Caleb was behind a horrific OL and had a defense that couldn't stop anybody. His sack percentage was high because he had to big game hunt to keep his team in the game.
The two metrics Williams led the "big five" in involved pass rush pressure -- he felt it the most (33.6%) and had the highest sack rate (8.3%).
Daniels behind that line would probably be hospitalized...

Guys who played QB tend to rate Nix higher than those who didn't. They tend to rate Maye lower than those who didn't.

Two 1sts this year and a 3rd next is the absolute MOST I would trade for moving up to ANY position. Next year's 1st should be off the table unless we get to hang on to #23 this year.
Kwesi should just stick and pick.

To jump the Giants is key. If this means working with the Chargers and Cardinals in a three way, I hope they do it. If not, the Vikings will get hosed.

I think the Giants are in a good position to trade up for QB. Possibly with the Cardinals for McCarthy.

The young analytics guy doesnt understand the importance of having a good defense that can give a young QB the ball back in advantageous field position?

In all honesty your Bo Nix opinions and somehow every single person you have had on to discuss Bo Nix is essentially a boob…
Fact: the entire Oregon offensive system is built so 80% of the plays called the player who receives the ball is determined pre-snap.
Fact: All evaluations of his statistics are essentially null and void because not one of you have realized, processed and disseminated this information to the masses.
I’m just completely fed up with this absurd narrative that Nix processes quickly because he gets the ball out quickly… he gets the d@mn ball out a full second and half quicker than every other f’ing QB because he knows where the gd ball goes before the ball is snapped and the whole f’ing system is designed so that it boils down to how quickly and effectively the QB can get the ball into literally ANY OTHER players hands besides his own!!!!

I appreciate Eric pointing out that players at premium positions who become free agents are much worse than the stars at those positions (who are drafted and never hit FA).
I’ve always said people who claimed Kirk’s contract was holding us back from getting these mythical free agents were mistaken. Good luck finding top CBs, DTs, DEs, etc without drafting them. I know Eric hated Kirk’s contract but he should also realize that we weren’t prevented from getting any FA

The. Onsensus big board has McCarthy at 23 rn so why there's talk about him going in the top 3 is beyond me. Lots of hype trying to get McCarthy a bigger payday is how I see it.
