This guy is extremely enjoyable when he’s not making Matt uncomfortable by cussing every 5 seconds lol
Also taking a shot at Reusse drives him up my list as well.

I have no problem with the cussing, he’s a real Vikings fan, it comes from a place of pain and frustration 😂
But agreed Reusse is god awful

@@CameronSlaysTBE oh I love the cussing. I prefer it. It’s just that it clearly made Matt so uncomfortable. Kind of takes away from the enjoyment ya know?

Did Drew say trade 4 1st for Maye? If so very interesting. That would mean we have to basically build out rest of team with 2nd/3rd tier FA and day 3 draft picks. To date only draft pick Kwesi had made that any other team would want is one 1st rounder. 2nd/3rd tier because we have too many holes to fill and can’t afford 1st tier. Can’t say I can get behind this strategy.

I would trade a lot to get up to #3 for Daniels or Maye but JJ McCarthy is growing on me too

Considering the data from Pro Football Reference, I would caution against trading up to picks 2-5 for any of these QB's. Since 2000, the first pick in the draft busts at a 40% rate. Picks 2 through 5 bust at a 75% percent rate. Picks 6 through 20 bust at a 50% rate. The data suggests a pattern of over drafting QB prospects at picks 2-5. Put another way, QB needy teams reach for QB prospects in the pick 2 to 5 range. I am not sure about trading the farm to move up to picks 2-5 to have an increased bust potential. The other data that is concerning is that the first QB drafted is successful around 60% of the time. The Second QB drafted drops to around a 40% success rate. The third QB drafted is only successful 20-25% of the time. The fourth QB drafted drops to around a 15-20% success rate. So, do you trade away two or possibly three drafts worth of top 100 picks for the 3rd or 4th QB in the draft with a 15 to 25% success rate and a bust potential of 75%? Another option is trading up to 6-10 in the draft where the bust potential is only 50% and selecting a QB there. The best option is to stick and pick, particularly if the 3rd QB is available. Bust potential is only 50% and the success rate is 20-25% depending on which data set your looking at.

Going off of Drew’s comment about the thought of being laughed at for trading the farm for McCarthy, there’s an idea in NFL games that you should do the thing that the opposing team doesn’t want you to do (go for it, punt, etc). The same thing can apply to the draft. If a consensus of fans of all 31 other teams are going to laugh at you for doing something they think is dumb, they’re probably not wrong and you probably shouldn’t do that move. Drew is right to feel self conscious. 36:06

I'm more of the mind that the Vikings do have a deal, at least in principle, in place. I got that vibe from Kwesi's presser and from Mark Wilf at the owners meeting, I suspect that it was put together before the deal they made with Houston. All speculation on my pary. Nothing more than a hunch, and if Thursday night we hear the Vikings are frantically trying to move up when the Pats and/or Cards are on the clock it wouldn't shock me.

JJ McCarthy top reason to be drafted by the Vikings. “JJ is a limited QB but, Vikings Coach, WRs, & Offensive System is great for QBs.” Is a reason to like the Vikings offense. It is most assuredly not a reason to draft JJ McCarthy because it might help JJ cover some of his short comings. If top guys go JJ or Pennix are Ok if that is who is left. You don’t trade up for that.

JJ McCarthy, is Brady + mobility. Anyone who passes on him will hate themselves forever.

One insane scenario that I’d love is Vikes trading 11 & 23 for 4th pick. Then shock the world and draft Harrison Jr. Or they trade up to 5 and take Nabors. Darnold recognizes his 3rd overall potential. Jefferson , Harrison Jr/Nabors, Hockenson, & Addison.
The only QB I’d trade the farm for is Maye. I’d rather use that draft capital to get 1/2 elite receivers (Harrison Jr or Nabors).

I couldn't agree more. Maye has way too much talent to be a Viking, we all know our franchise thrives on mediocrity so JJ or Nix are the perfect fits 🤌 #StayMediocreMN

This is going to be a disaster for the franchise. Maye is going to be a bust and I mean an epic bust. Sure appears like we’re pushing all our chips into the middle of the table. I wouldn’t move up. I would take the best quarterback available at 11. Those usually work out the best anyway. I actually think Sam Darnold’s going to have a big year. I think KOC can get him on the right Somebody who is going to see track. He may be the best anyway. Then boy will we have trouble?

This idea, which seems to be showing up too often on Vikings channels, is that if Drake Maye is drafted by the Vikings he's going to be terrific and he's going to be awful if selected by the Pats is foolish, and it's said with such certainty. If a player is good/great, he's going to produce. It may be a little harder or take a bit longer in certain places, but there is no "magic elixir" team for QB's. KOC is not Bill Walsh and while his team underachieved, Herbert was a top 7-8 QB in the league with Brandon Staley as his HC. Some of these takes are delusional.
