Just wanted to say mark. Recently started watching your videos. I built a sound system in my 2000 z3, maybe 5 or 6 years ago? Either way, the oem system just didn’t cut it for anything. So of course got the head unit, then ran an amp for the speakers and ran new wire. Anyways.. decided a month ago I was going to rebuild my sound system. New wires, speakers, amp, etc. And that’s when I decided to start watching your videos. Which now totally has changed the way I looked at building sound systems. Also swapped my speakers out from pioneers to JL c1’s because it seemed like the best bang for your buck, also the way you used their product. It just seemed very promising. And I have to say, I couldn’t be happier. I’m absolutely IN LOVE with the JL speakers
Mark, as always your level of detail shows how much pride you take in these remarkable installs. Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge. Love watching, keep up the hard work! Inspired.
Been watching your videos for like over 5 years I think. I never comment but most of my knowledge is inspired by this channel. Currently suffering with an IC for my PB1.18000 Class D. Cant find the IC and suffering with a sub that does not deliver the required bass. Now I need to save for another 6 months to be able to replace them☹️
I’ve been doing research for the last couple of days to no avail. Well, to be honest just a bit, but in two of your videos, I’ve learned more in than the last couple of days. Great videos keep up the good work.
What up Mark! In my humbled opinion, you are truly the best box builder and fabricator on RUclips without the super expensive computer controlled robotic router table. I'm a Cable Splicer of fiber optics for Verizon in Washington, D.C., and most of our job assignments are of the brand new construction variety with lots of plumbing material lying around. Being a BassHead from the early 90's, I fondly remember those "Bazooka" bass tubes, and I would love to see you create/fabricate one out of 10, 12 or 15 inch diameter PVC piping.
I got the KnuKonceptz wiring kit as well. Found that I bought the wrong version, which was CCA. I read the box, "CCA, Yuck!" I returend it and got OFC. Still need to install it in my rig!
Pls pls pls do some videos on Marine audio system & not the easy stuff these new boaters play with them big hanging speakers that are freaking awesome … I’m talking about old school / classic style marine systems. With 4 or more speakers, radio , amp , subwoofer…. In case you were wondering yes I just picked up a boat that could use a new system & thanks to you my F-150 sounds awesome 👏🏼
Man i wish youtube had been around 20 years ago when i was doing car audio Competitions for meca and usaci and iasca. I have learned so much from u back then it was all Trial and error. Ripping everything out of the honda CRX i had Put dynamite everywhere i had literally just made that car for the bass competitions Useing 0 ga or 00 ga on 2000 to 4000 watt amps with 2 to 4000 watt 10 inch 12 inch or 15 inch subs. I use to love useing MA AUDIO. But learning from u its like wow i could have done so much better if i had just known how to really use this stuff. I mean dont get me wrong i had a lot of fun doing it. But now that im 37 i injoy the sound quality part of it more than i care about the bass.
OMG DUDE! I've got myself into a situation here! Purchased a 2015 Toyota Tundra with premium sound, and now I have my first vehicle that I wish to keep my OEM head unit, but man, this thing is WEAK. Whatever JBL amped this at can't be much! So now I'm on a mission to learn all I can about what it's gonna take to make a good hybrid system out of this! I've never kept a factory head unit before so this is all new to me haha wish me luck brother!
Really appreciate your helpful videos @CarAudioFabrication This one helped me decide on Knukonceptz wiring for my new system. I havn't installed any audio for about 8 years so it's been good to get caught up on latest techniques and equipment... I went overboard on the wiring kit rather buying the premade kit mainly because I didn't want longer RCA cables then I needed so I added all the custom wire lengths and terminals ect I needed to cart and knukonceptz made it easy to custom configure exactly what I needed even though I spent double what their premade kits cost ha...
Mark, novice here, about to get started on my install. My question is this, on large power wire, is it a bad idea to solder fittings? I don’t have a large crimp tool
@@robertthomas7239 I would also depend on if it is OFC or CCA... I would advise against CCA of any size, the disadvantages are NOT worth the cheaper price in my opinion.
Do you happen to have a video that shows how to run a whole system off ac to dc conversion. It would obviously be easier to buy a indoor stereo system but I have specific plans
Great channel! I'm looking to upgrade my audio system but Crutchfield told me I'm screwed. Got a 2010 Prius with a "premium" JBL system with navigation and park assist. Can't exceed a 30 amp current draw. Looking for a fairly modest upgrade with a new head unit, speakers, small sub (powered spare tire sub maybe) and a 4 or 5 channel amp. I can live without the park assist and add a better backup camera. Would upgrading the 12v battery help?
Not related to this video, what are some good beginners tools to measure and mark the correct opening for the subwoofer besides the nail and tape measure “holding” the pencil in the desired measurement.
Hi Mark I have a 2019 Subaru Outback and I would like to upgrade the speakers and sub woofer. I would like to use the Audio control amps AMC 1 .300 & AMC 1.400 . Is there a pre made harness for Subaru vehicle??
I’m running the kolossus 4 gauge in 1 of my cars I’ll be running a 1000 watt amp at 1ohm subs and 300 watts stereo mids , do I need 1 gauge or will 4 work?( 100 amp and 30 amp fuses recommended)
my compact 960 watt amp, 1 farad capacitor, line output converter, digital tv tuner (also a PS2 slim in glove box is connected to it), 410 watt power inverter are all zip tied to the ceiling of the trunk, put the fabric/carpet ceiling cover back n place, now the only thing u see is my dual 10 inch subs in box, 5 switches to control all the components up front, switch 1 for tv tuner/ps2 slim, switch 2 for the remote turn on wire that goes to loc/amp, switch 3 for the aftermarket apple car play device connected to factory screen and switch 4 & 5 for the front & rear noise canceling mics when subs r on, and remote bass control knob, then later added a small 12lbs 2nd battery connected with a relay to main battery for the tv tuner/PS2 slim, in the trunk pocket under the trunk carpet floor behind the wheel well.
Ok, I’ve watched the videos but I’m still confused. I’m upgrading speakers and putting an under seat powered subwoofer. So, do I need two DSP? One amplifier with built-in dsp, and another without it for the sub?
Every system benefits from DSP. It's like building a performance car. You bolt on all those upgrades, do you think an ECU tune os going to help or hurt? If you get a DSP amp most have a set of preouts you can also control and send signal to a non-dsp amp
Never heard of this company. I Bought some cheap set from eBay , boss brand and oh man I knew better and still bought it . I just re wired my whole car with these wires
Ok so hello mark..I have a mono block amp for my subs I'm getting a 0gauge ofc kit for that but what size kit do I need for a 4channel amp skar rp 1000 for my mids and highs
Power/ground wiring is probably the single most tedious part of car audio. Worth spending a couple hundred to have a pro do it BUT helps to have all the tools and supplies to do the fun stuff.
hey, new subscriber here. love the videos. i was curious to know what you would recommend for an amp elimination on a 2015 genesis ultimate sedan? the vehicle has 17 speakers and a nice head unit, but the amp for this vehicle is poorly built. thank you in advance

Can you do a audio whining/high pitch noise diagnostic video? It also matches with my engine rpm.

Im a mind reader 🔮🔮🔮
Crazy how this video pops up and somehow ive ordered such a kit
Haha good timing
Yoooo I was about buy some as well then Boom 🤣
It’s not crazy. They listen to everything you say and market to it.

Bought that yellow wire stripper. Thanks CAF! Works like magic

Just got two distribution blocks from them yesterday. Ground and power. Love knukonceptz
They are simple and cost effective, perfect for wiring. Doesn't need to be anything crazy.
@@CarAudioFabrication agreed. Love your content Mark👍

Very informative, thank you!
Being a mast audi tech i appreciate good quality work 👌🏻 fantastic
THANK YOU SO MUCH! VERY HELPFUL more than any other video out there!
Mark, novice here, about to get started on my install. My question is this, on large power wire, is it a bad idea to solder fittings? I don’t have a large crimp tool
Can i use an 8 gauge wire connected to 2 guage wires in my distribution block?
Would love for you to come to Japan and hook my system up in my kei van!
If using 4 guage wire how much amper fuse is need.
If using distribution blocks does we need a fuse
Depends on the distance.

that would be cool to be apart of the snowed in
The tools needed can be a big hold up if you think you can just grab a kit and go.
Keep up the amazing work

I have a bi-amp system with RF D1200 and RF 400 for mid-tweeters install on my 2016 Elantra. Do I need to install a capacitor?
easy to set up if the battery is in the trunk?

Will this harness work for 2018 Dodge Ram 1500. Also, where can I purchase one if it is the correct one.
Hi Mark, great info! Do you have the specs available for a 4 sub box for a Chevy 3500 like the box you built with the 4 JL Audio 10's for the F150?
Why does some bass hit the feet instead of chest some hit the head and some hit the stomach

Instead of the kit I buy big wires in rolls of black and red then buy fuses and blocks Incase I have more then one car at a time it comes in handy
