We had something special and then after several months he decided he couldn't move forward with me. He was an unavailable man with obligations. He often ghosted me and I was patient, then he attempted to pull away and friend zone me. I would have none of it and told him I would not be his friend. We were lovers and I wasn't going backwards. I finally told him on the phone that he's made his choice and he would never hear from or see me again. He broke my heart and I was DONE with this crap. You have done it the right way, the same thing happened to me, and he was the one that came on strong. Months later he decided we should just be friends. Foolishly I accepted this, even though it wasn't what I wanted, Partly because we had known each other along time.. Since our schooldays and partly because I hoped that eventually he would get over his wife! Roll on two years after texting each other daily and weekly calls etc, he now tells me he as meet someone else. For a few weeks he had been more distant and then left it a whole week to contact me, he had never done that before. I asked him on the phone if I had done something wrong, and eventually he told me, turns out he had been lying about what he had been doing. He wasent busy with work like he had said. The fact he lied to me, after sharing all our secrets with each other as crushed me 💔 I wish I had never taken the friendzone route.. I certainly deserved alot more.
Have now lost the friend I loved and will find it hard to trust again. You have done the right thing by not accepting the little he as to offer you x

Omg this happened to me ! It was an instant attraction/ connection. We were in a long distance relationship . But we finally got together and it seemed like he was instantly ripped away from me! 😣😫 he and I had a great night together. But after that he started acting so distant. I was very confused 🤷🏻‍♀️😑 didn’t know what was going on. I texted him and he would reply but it would take him the whole day to text me back. I started feeling him slowly but surely slipping away from me. I was so devastated and didn’t know what was happening. So I finally had to let him go. But I’m ok now . Im still healing from it . Its only been 5 months since this happened. I know that everything happens for a reason but I still love him and wish he would tel me why he pulled away for my peace of mind. But I’m praying everyday and it’s getting better as time passes by. But it was on of worst feeling I’ve ever experienced unfortunately. Felt like my heart was literally ripped out of my chest ! 😖😖😣😫😢🥺
I wouldn’t wish it on my worse enemy. But I wish everyone a happy healthy healing after experiencing anything like this. 🙏🏻🤗🌷😘💋 thank you Susan for explaining it the doggie way . Perfect 👌🏼

Omg this sounds just like my relationship... We met online and it was a long distance relationship. We talked for about a year and both felt this strong connection. I flew out to Florida for 10 days and it had its ups and downs and thought I wouldn't hear from her again once I got back to Colorado. Then the following months passed and her and her daughter came to Colorado and we had an amazing visit. We came to that point were we had to decide on the next step. We talked alot and she thought since I was closer to my family, that it would be best if they moved out here. Then once they moved out here she couldn't find a job in her field and took a job to help with bills and then we fell into a routine. They went back to Florida for a vacation during spring break and after that everything changed between us. Her daughter told me she felt like I was her dad and I thought of her as my daughter. I did all I could do to learn about her autism. Then her mom told me one day I dont see this going anywhere. I took that as breaking up and we decided she would pay 600 a month til she could save up to move back to Florida. Less than a week later she was seeing someone else and wasn't paying me. I told her she needed to move out because it's not fair to all.

Sometimes being unable to 'make ' them want you makes them more attractive. I've said to my girlfriends, "I don't know why I feel like I want him when I don't find him that attractive. I do not like his politics and I sense there is something sneaky about him, but he just somehow has managed to get under my skin." Once the feelings eventually subsides all these other thoughts I had about him I see much more clearly and I am glad he did not want me.

I've found when relationships work out like this - not what we would like - it often turns out to be a "blessing in disguise", so to speak. Over the past three years, I've had an old boyfriend periodically come into my place of work trying to patch up a relationship that ended TEN YEARS AGO. I was crazy about him at the time, and he blatantly used me. I felt he would only repeat his performance in any resurrection of the original relationship. So I said "no way". Guess what - I just found out he died about a year ago and his estate was settled up only in about the last ten days or so. It is so obvious - he was sick and looking for some poor fool to take care of him. I'm glad I didn't fall for his trickery. I learned something from that situation and am rather proud of myself - Diane.

This is something I've been wrestling with for the past six months. I've understood this point intellectually, but it didn't do anything to move the needle on my struggle. Notwithstanding the immediate euphoria of validation, I feel that hearing you speak about it in your own way has helped to catalyse some sort of alchemical reaction in my emotions and spirit. Thank you.

I had this exact experience in Paris. Even though it was one night, I met this guy who was what I have been looking for for ages, and was excited. But I was going home the next day and he was also on break with his gf (so he said). I see now that it was just a sign that there are people out there for me, and I will eventually find my perfect match. I needed that lesson.

I know he is still mourning the loss of his late wife because we had the conversation so I know it is not me. I didn't think about what the after affect would be living together knowing that he still had a heavy heart. Thank you susan, now I can live with that possibility that the other side would have been a cost to living my life.

This HAS helped me so much thank you Susan. I recently had such a powerful and intense connection like I haven't felt in years. As you say it was delicious! But overwhelming and almost terrifying in how incredibly strong it was, disrupting my concentration and peace of mind. He was in a super busy and high powered career and also a single father of a little girl, so couldn't give me the level of interaction I needed despite our attraction. Thankfully this man had the wisdom to make a boundary and end things before it got out of hand - I would have been swept away! I have been so very disappointed but I can see how it would have led to stress, dissatisfaction and suffering ultimately. But I so enjoyed the brief (about 6 weeks) exhilarating ride while it lasted. I feel alive! Hopefully next time I will meet someone just as exciting who is also available to meet me in the same place.

What I have learnt when you get these opportunities and then they are taken away from you - it's actually an opportunity for you to grow and become a person that is actually capable of having and sustaining this big thing that you want. I don't believe that the universe is showing you something that you can't have, it's your subconscious mind that knows and sees that you are actually really not ready for this and all your internal things that require improvement get highlighted so that you can become that person. In the end opportunities have a habit of coming back over and over again until you have leveled up (in your concept of self) enough to actually seize and master them. No big love/excitement/thing is ever lost.

Let me start off by saying that you are a beautiful person inside and out ☺. You made a very good point. If God found someone to be your lifetime partner, why would he drive him away. If he leaves, there is a reason. We may not see it, but God does. I learned from my experience. Dated a guy, thought he was the one, had a major argument, broke off, took him back 1 wk later. Bad, bad, mistake ! 2 months later, he began physically abusing me. Let it be a warning sign, when they leave, let them go. God can forsee what we can't. Sending love to you and all your viewers a big HUG !!

I actually just had this happen yet again. The guy even said to me we have a connection and we got along & openly talked about everything & then boom all he wanted to do was tell me his problems. Red flags went up turns out not just his x wife cheated on him but he cheated on her and another gf with a married woman that was his gf's mother. I'm like NAW ILL PASS! I'm thanking God 🙏🙌that I listened to my guides and ran away before I wasted any longer time listening to a cheater & a liar. Theres always a reason why something happens. I look at this as I grew. I'm not a counselor or babysitter for men anymore. What's funny is he said maybe I was ment to watch out for him. I told him your a grown man. NO grown women wants to babysit a immature man child. I'm not desperate. That was the last of that. Thank God 🙌

Although I am still so gutted about the missed opportunity with him, asked myself over and over again, "what on earth this happened? what universe is trying to tell me??"... but your words make sense. We should open our mind to the possibilities, to the possible blessing that we cannot see for now, perhaps there is a wisdom far greater than our little mind....so right...Everything happens for a reason...I should let this go as quick as possible, otherwise, it will waste more of my time and energy, life is too short, time to move on...Thank you again for your message!

I find people are always looking for the next best thing these days, they are fickle as hell. Also be sure not to confuse vulnerability with over sharing. You don’t tell someone your whole life in one night and vice versa.
This happened to me with an ex, twice! There were external factors for sure. I kinda feel like I won’t connect with anyone else the way we did but I could be wrong. All I do know is as you get older, genuine connection is harder to find and harder to get over.

I also feel that sometimes after someone leaves us, the rejection and our ego makes us think they were so much more or better than they actually were. And then out of that hurt, we start to forget the unattractive parts of them and the situation. It's like when we're rejected we (or our minds) just forget all the bad and we re-injure ourselves by focusing on only the good parts. I think our ego betrays us more often and in more ways in life than it helps us. We have to learn to separate what is real loss from something that is more just a hurt to our pride. They are two separate things. It's very, very hard to do I know. I am struggling with a heartbreak right now myself. But it's NECESSARY to get real honest with ourselves quickly after rejection in order to put things into a more logical perspective. It takes some time, and it's not an easily acquired skill in such an emotional state, but if you really look at it, it might be the case that it's more your pride, ego, and innate sense of self that is the problem, and less that you REALLY loved them or REALLY thought it could work in the long term. Not always the case, but atleast ask yourself the tough questions and be aware of the reality.

I noticed my ex kept mentioning money.. red flag he think I wasn't listening to him I heard that part. After he told me his issue with his house guess what .. see I used to work for the state. On property. And business. Found out he did not pay his house taxes for this year.. and some other things. I could be wrong I felt he was looking for someone to help him pay and fix that house up. With pretense, of a psuedo relationship. See it's so many scammers out here. Regardless a lot of them have jobs. But u never know that's why I dig. He pursued me like crazy. Said what happened asking me questions. I knew what I was doing. See i knew what kind if player he was. Turned the tables. He did not like it. Get it!.. good looking successful. He was a dick!
