This is my actually my favorite phase one MCU film.

I suddenly became disabled about a year and a half ago. Pretty much live in bed or my wheelchair. I am limited to what free stuff I can get on my phone, I have found that watching reaction videos on RUclips is my number one source of entertainment. I follow at least 25 different reactors and can say that yours in definitely in my favorite top 5. Maybe you and 2 others are tied for first place.
I just love you two together. You compliment one another. You're fair, honest, fun and sometimes funny You find the best in the films and I think Holden's knowledge is amaizing. I think you two make a great couple and you're pleasant to watch. I could go on and on.

Originally he was just named "Computer Nerd", though the novelization identified him as Amadeus Cho (WHITEWASHING!?) but when Martin Starr was cast in Homecoming they decided to change it. And since Helen Cho, Amadeus' mother, was in Age of Ultron, I hope he officially appears in the MCU and becomes the Totally Awesome Hulk.

God there are so many moments I can’t wait to see her react to for the first time.
We can't know for sure who her favorite is gonna be. We haven't even gotten to Capt. America or Thor yet. And there's always some sneaky possibilities like The Guardians of the Galaxy, Antman (more because of Paul Rudd), Black Panther, she may even love some of the villains more. Alot of people like Loki more than the heroes.

@@ricardoortiz4870 I prefer Norton. I think the fear of the monster inside aspect is just better portrayed by Norton. Ruffalo never really showed that side of the character it was always more of not wanting to lose control of the body but not really a fear of the monster inside.

Blonsky got locked up by SHIELD in a specialized facility. They name dropped him in Agents of SHIELD when one character was threatened with being "posted to babysitting Blonsky in Alaska".
i think i remember seeing somewhere that they retconned this later though, i might be mixing things up however

@@icemav5740 Well they showed that in this film. Abomination is about twice as strong as baseline Hulk, but his strength doesn't increase like Hulk's does when he gets angrier, which is why Hulk was able to eventually beat him.

For Jen: When Holden said to get out of the mentality of wanting to know about Iron Man 2 or 3, I don't think he meant to not be curious about these characters or what's next, but more so to stop thinking about sequels to individual movies as their own self contained thing. You gotta start thinking of the entire MCU as the series. So instead of wondering what's going to happen in Iron Man 2, for example, be thinking of what Iron Man will be up to in the next film, whether it is an "Iron Man" film or not. At least, that's the way I took his statement.
I think she'll come to realize that soon enough. I think it might be better not to prepare her for it. I mean just look at the way she lit up at seeing Tony just pop in for a minute at the end.

Yeah phase 1 and 2 set you up with a lot of origin stories but after awhile you just can't wait for the movies that tie together more than highlight individual heroes.

This movie is amazing
I've always thought Incredible Hulk is one of the more underrated MCU movies. I'm not a big Ed Norton fan, but I do prefer the way Hulk looks in this movie compared to how he appears later on. Yes, the end fight is a CGI-fest, but what else can you do with Hulk, really? He's gotta fight another monster, which means CGI character vs CGI character. It's worth remembering that this movie is like 12-13 years old, if they were making it now the CGI would undoubtedly look a lot better.

Not to mention Rick Jones. His name appears in the montage at the beginning and I'm sure he would've appeared in the sequel, but he's a pretty important character for several Marvel heroes (Captain America and Captain Marvel) and the fact that he hasn't been adapted for the MCU yet is surprising.

They explain what they do with Abomination in the Marvel One-Shot "The Consultant" (takes place between Thor and The Avengers). Conversation between Agents Phillip J. Coulson and Jasper Sitwell that frames the credits scene from The Incredible Hulk and makes sense of why Tony is talking with General Ross.
They also allude to the Abomination's situation in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Suffice to say, he's been put in a supermax cell in the middle of the Tundra near Barrow, Alaska.

The reason they did go into his origin was because Ang Lee's The Hulk was just a few years before this, so this is both an MCU and a soft reboot. They don't want to rehash the origins, MCU thus far have always try to avoid rehashing origins too much.

The actor who plays Stan The Pizza Guy is Paul Soles who was the original voice of Spider-Man in the 1967 cartoon. 2008 was a good year for comic-book movies. We got Iron Man , Hulk , The Dark Knight & Hellboy : The Golden Army that year . Loved all of them.

So General Ross has a version of the super-soldier serum that he uses on Yablonski, who then augments it with Gamma Radiation in order to become The Abomination.

Actually, the events of The Incredible Hulk take place during most of Iron Man 2's events, with Hulk's post credits scene happening after Iron Man 2. There's a few visual references to the final fight on the news in the end of Iron Man 2 as well.

Jen I feel bad that holden can't really tell you certain things in these films but the further your into this MCU you will see these connections and some of them are small minor moments but worth seeing yourself. So hang in there, it's worth the wait.

The Incredible Hulk is really underrated and I think the creatures appearance here is much better than in the Avengers movies where he’s just played for laughs.
Also Edward Norton is a much better Banner than Mark Ruffalo

@@pnut3844able The key difference between the MCU and the comics is the passage of time. Peter parker has been a young adult for like 60 years at this point in the comics. That means unless you recast, you have to write endings for characters, which is kinda uncharted territory for comic books. This gets even more complicated with characters like the Hulk because Bruce and Hulk are cursed to share the same body. In the comics, this relationship/problem may develop a bit but if the hulk has to eventually end as a character there needs to be resolution to that curse. You cant just introduce that Idea and not resolve it. What would your solution be? Kill the Hulk? Or Banner?
@@NickKinzel they've already killed Banner in the comics in the Hulk: The End storyline. Hulk was left by himself. Ruffalo can play Hulk for a long time, he's fine. Hulk isn't going anywhere

With the MCU, stories with characters are finite and need endings that resolve the character's arc. If banner just got murdered in Infinity war and Hulk was free just to do whatever, it wouldn't be satisfying because we never got to see him complete his arc. We already saw hulk punch people in the mcu, don't you think it was at least cool to see a new side of the character that got some resolution?

The thing I've always loved about the Hulk, which is portrayed in this film perfectly, is just the sheer, unbridled, primal rage that he embodies.
There are some days where I just want to scream like that and make the world tremble with fear at the fury unchained.

Its important to remember that before this movie post credit scene were not a thing at all. So just imagine the impact it had when fans were first saw it. Still gives me goosebumps thinking back on it.

The Musical Score is so amazing from this movie, I really love the motif used for Hulk and I wish it was kept in the MCU. But the MCU doesn't keep themes for anyone except Avengers and Winter Soldier. But "The Flower", "They're Here", "Give him Everything you've got" give me chills every time I listen to them

Edward did miss the funnier part of the character, but he did capture the Bruce from the comics with Bruce being on the run and the emotions bottling up in every situation. The Hulk here, no doubt, was the best Hulk ever. He did the clap and the infamous “Hulk Smash!” and it gave me chills. Not only that, he has to be the most aggressive Hulk in the movies.

You are correct. Going by release order, The Incredible Hulk came out 6/13/2008, only about a month after Iron Man 5/2/2008. However, if you really want to get chronologically technical, the first part of The Incredible Hulk (in Brazil) takes between Iron Man 1 and 2, but the second half (at Culver University in West Virginia) takes place during Iron Man 2 (It took awhile for Bruce to get back into the U.S.). The Marvel One-Shot, "The Consultant", firmly establishes that Tony Stark had already been relegated to his Consultant status (as seen in the Iron Man 2 Post-credits scene) when he talks to Ross at the end of The Incredible Hulk.
In fact, Iron Man 2, the latter half of The Incredible Hulk, and Thor, all take place within the same week according to a tie-in comic that was published called "Fury's Big Week".
Have you watched marvel's 5 minute "The Consultant" One Shot? I'd be interested in seeing y'all's reaction to that - and the other one shots (Idk if they're on RUclips)

I dunno, I found the movie kinda boring, and most of the people I talk to feel the same way. As far as Hulk movies go it's the best one, but.. that's not really saying much.
Ruffalo version of Hulk is the best Hulk. Not necessarily because of Ruffalo himself, but how he's written and used in the movies he's in. Apparently Hulk works best as part of an ensemble cast.

Mr. Blue is a character known as the Leader. That cut on his head where his brain started to swell is how he was to become that character. They just never made a sequel(which was supposed to happen) and they never used the character in any other movies to date.
He is returning in Captain America New World Order.

I personally really enjoy The Incredible Hulk.
I think it does a great job at depicting how awful it would be to be the Hulk and how your entire existence would revolve around keeping it under control.
Edward Norton made the character extremely sad and pitiable.
Ruffalo does a great job, but it always bugged me how by later movies his character was more of a joke.
I also like how it sets some expectations for the super soldier program in Phase 1, and the easter eggs in storage.
Yeah they used two guys for the 80's show and tv movies. Bill Bixby for David Bruce Banner and Lou Ferigno for the hulk. Stan Lee actually played a role in one of the TV movies.
