You have a point about last round bolt hold open, but let me ask you this. How many mpx’s have served in militaries all over the world and have round counts over 100k? The answer is none. There’s a reason HK still receives orders from militaries to supply mp5’s decades later, and the amount of military sales received makes the mpx government sales look non-existent. Then add in the fact that the mpx suppresses terribly, because it stole the worst feature of an ar15, and we’re left with a pretty decisive victor.

PSA Palmetto State just keeps crushing it. And this Shot Show I think they nailed it. I have to give PSA the overall winner of Shot Show award. So many new and innovative and new budget offerings. I think they were the winner hands down. And there were many other great companies who put out some great stuff but PSA just crushed it.
Still think the cz scorpion is a better buy. Roughly 1k for the pistol with carbine lenght handguard (which hides 90% of my suppressor) and folding stock. Add in the vortex vipor rmr, and you got a co witnessing sight for the cost of this with no optics. It comes with iron sights also. Not to mention I torture tested mine with going to 3000 rounds with only 2 applications of lube, with 0 malfunctions. Upgrades are also cheap, such as the trigger upgrade that brings it to 5-7lbs only costing about $15. 32 round mags about $20. Mag release can be done easily with the trigger finger, and the bold stays open when the mag is empty with an easy to reach bolt release. So you don't have to reach the charging handel every time which speeds up reloads.
I actually liked that the video was not perfect at 4:50 made the whole thing feel more real than most shot show videos that feel like a perfect commercial at this point.
Heard a rumor that it broke while on display. Can anyone corroborate this? I’m not sure what the incentive to buy this over a POF or PTR is. If they wanted to actually push the platform forward, they could have figured out a last round bolt hold open. The magpul trigger housing is disappointing. I wonder what the parts comparability will be like. Hopefully, the CMC trigger pack is interchangeable for use on other roller locks. I’m sure people will justify that this is “just as good” as a proper MP5, but I’m not convinced that this gun really offers anything unless it creeps down to a 1k street price.
originally they had plans to release an "original spec" version and an "updated to today's standards" version - the latter was going to use AR-15 trigger packs and CZ Skorpion magazines to allow for a last round bolt hold open mechanism. MP5 magazines don't have a way to activate a last round bolt hold open, and their 9mm AKV project led them to start making Skorpion mags in house. So it seemed like a no-brainer. Apparently that model has been completely forgotten about.
124thDragoon I’m aware that mp5 mags don’t accommodate a LRBHO. That’s good info though about the “updated” model- there would probably be a bigger market for that than PSA would think. Just look at what Tommy Built is doing for the g36 and ump platforms. It just seems a bit strange for PSA to attempt to directly compete with HK, DT, Zenith, and others imo.

Because it isn’t a 100% perfect clone of a collectible gun from the 1960s? How do you explain the huge sales of their AKV, a Vityaz AK clone that doesn’t actually use Vityaz mags? It’s almost as if people buy guns from PSA for their feature set and cost rather than their ability to clone old/foreign designs.

Tired of waiting for the PSA version, but I am still going to get it. In the meantime, I have bought a PTR 9CT, extra mags and a SB Tactical HP PDW brace to add to my collection of “range toys”. Have the funds sitting there ready to go when the PSA5 does come out and will get that too! My first and only experience with PSA thus far has been the AKV and if the PSA5 is anything like it in build quality and shooting experience then it’s going to be the bomb!!
Keep coming back to watch this to see how many people realize PSA is always bluffing. The Dagger was supposed to come out 2 months ago, the JAKL still isn't out, PSA5 still hasn't had any news.
Why didn’t they just get it to market? Instead of wasting time making useless changes to the design. If they keep making changes, eventually the gun will be so far removed from the mp5 that it will loose all appeal.
IDC if I'm the first and or only person to say this... That "lower" looks like some sketchy low quality unfinished polymer. If this is going to be the case I'll gladly save up the difference and get a better one like a zenith or ptr. Maybe if the real sp5 gets a better price maybe one of those but I'm the buy once cry once type. U get what u pay for the only way they get it cheaper is to "cut some corners"

It comes down to price. I'm not excited at 1,000. Everyone and their grandma's would have one at 570 though. Dont screw around with us PSA. And it should take ar15 grips and trigger packs. And then theres the mp7. ........when?

At the price point their talking which is at least $1200 people would be better off spending a couple hundred more on a better gun like the MPX.
