Brother, you know your tact, and you're keeping up with the classes. Time to address the main rig. Physical therapy for any injuries and/or personal trainer are just components of becoming a dangerous and honorable man.
Specprecision now have the clone Unity AXON SYNC NGAL switch and it is great, I've had the Somoboat also and its a fkn boat! it won't run my higher power LEP torch and the bracket broke after a few tightening's. The clone AXON switch runs my power hungry LEP torch, has vis override and was cheap enough that i trimmed my cables to their final length so is super tidy.
I've used the L3 in battalion and I own a somo Ngal, I won't say they both are on equal playing fields but I've broken many peq15s down range and I've yet to break the somo, obviously I'm not in the same environments but I've beat it up, thrown it on concrete, hit it with a hammer etc and it's held up. What y'all have to remember is L3s are 5k because of the strict restrictions they have to follow plus it's on the army's budget.
Nice to see a higher round count review. I have a higher round count on the somo peq, the somo NGAL I have the lasers are definetly not as powerful as the somo peq, like NGAL full power laser isn't as powerful as the peq on low power setting which I've been told is not normal? Guess most people's somo NGAL is up there with the peqs
Aight ive got a question. Bear with me... My biggest issue with the somo is the ir laser being too bright and blooming. In you opinion the L3 cap (wich on the laser side it actually a nuetral density filter) makes the ir laser much more usable? Bummer that it covers the vis laser, i may try the L3 cover and drill out or remove the vis laser cover... would love to hear your thoughts befor hacking up the factory L3 cover. Thanks man glad i found this review!
@@colmike460I have debated either drilling the vis cap or trying to take my own neutral density filter material and glueing it to the ir laser. That said I do think for safety you need a visible laser cap.
Loved the review and the detail you went into. Question for you, if you modified the defuser cap, could you regain the green laser with vis-override? I.E. drill out the green laser blocking portion of the cap.
Fantastic review. Quick question. I am looking into the axon sync you spoke about. I have the SOMO ngal and the Surefire M600v. What exactly does the override switch do? Does it activate the laser and light simultaneously? Thanks! 100% subscribing
The angled switch up front activates the torch and visual laser at full power, the flat switch activates whatever mode is selected on the NGAL at the time, so if in vis-low it will activate visual laser on low, or vis-high will activate visual at high, if it's on any of the IR settings then that is what will be activated... Visoverride is great for the bump in the night get outa bed in your PJ's situations, if you happen to be sleeping with your Nod's on then avoid the Visoverride button and have your mode select on IR and activate it with the flat button!
sorry, there was a lot in this video, is it the metal model? Also, i take it you haven't had any problems with it's performance up to 3000 rounds? I have the peq15 model of theirs and it's been working well.
Can I please get an update on whether or not the smaller flashlight worked out just fine whenever you go with your friends .(Thanks) I also wanted to ask you in your opinion which place is the best bang for your buck night vision training, i just bought a MAWL as well and my pockets are hurting lol. Nice to see a long term review of the somogear. Appreciate it!
Damn your vocab gives brass facts a run for his money. Subbed
Also, I’ve always wanted a laser, but a lot of people say why buy a laser if you don’t have nods. You gave a different point of view. Thanks
First time here
You're very well spoken, my dude. I appreciate your shared experience with the NGAL

Viridian HS1 Infrared, I believe
