Good point (I often mess up the combo lol) Flail & Shield + Dual Hammers is lowkey cracked. Flail & Shield runs through armoured enemies like nothing (goodbye Stormvermin), and the Dual Hammers with Righteous Fury smashes through hordes.
This is a good video, most guides available online for many games are generalized trash without any actual solid advice; leaving the viewer (if it's a normal / decent player) with zero new info. This was helpful and specific, good job man.
Flail and shield so useful against armored and shield units. And in higher difficulty, there are ALOT OF armored and shield skaven and plague warriors. Its a must have no matter what. Also the shield can help you from skaven gunners.
Agreed! Infact I’d say that I’ve come to rely heavily on the tank classes as my bots since they not only stay alive way better, but also have team boons for everyone.
Yeah in cataclysm flail and shield is a must. Though it's kinda boring...I really love hammer&bible cause its heavy attack feels awesome, like Sigmar's power in my hand.
The dual hammers are amazing when you build for trying to get fury going really quickly, idk why but in fury the hammers cleane everything without armor with lights, Add the talent that gives fury when using the shield and you can pop it on yourself and then walk through a horde killing anything in your way
It seems like a really good weapon for irritating that scummy speed run elf that always runs to far ahead and quits when they’re downed and too far away for anyone to get them.
Big hammer is probably better. But tome and hammer is just so unique that to me it's a huge reason to even play the class. Comets gift would be best of it healed a wound. But it doesn't and so even after you heal a buddy, they still use a heal for that wound anyways. Makes it kind of pointless half the time since in hard difficulties people usually go down from any hit with healing.
My go to for Hordes is just going light attacks with the Hammers. But i tend to switch to F&S for really dense hordes to for heavy attacks. Also a Heavy > light > light > reset, is a great relyable combo i use for Chaos Warriors since the Heavy is a good starter attack with pretty fast 2 down swing light attacks straight for their head weakspot. short block to reset the combo or to block the overhead attack the Chaos Warrior is setting up at the beginning of your attack. Otherwise heavy spamm against stormvermin patrols. ignores shields and the head-lineup is just perfect. Dual Hammers are otherwise the go-to for everything else. 5 stack rising judgement and a head down heavy attack 95% manages to one-shot a packmaster. just try to dodge to the side at the same time, to avoid a grab IF it does not kill the hookrat.
Rising judgment doesn't even require the use of lights to fully stack in hordes, as you'll be hitting 5 enemies per heavy most of the time, so it just becomes a free 5 stacks for every attack in a heavy spam chain.
And cleave thp is alot more consistent from what I've tested and and seen in most other builds. The rest of the build is pretty alright if you're focusing on damage, but I think the real benefit of WP comes from all his great talents to keep your team alive and healthy, allowing them to do more damage safely, over buffing your own damage.
i disagree with what you said about comet's gift. in pubs the better you are you get SO much more value out of it than united in prayer- i've had cata pubs where i carried the team with 10 revives, and it also greatly increases your team's health pool. it isnt as situational as you make it out to be because people can take a lot of damage, and i used to run united in prayer up until +35 but ive noticed that the better i get, the less value i got out of it. the damage is nice, sure, but it isnt exactly a tidebreaker. what is a tidebreaker is instant revival with more often than not huge heals- it means no one has to interrupt what theyre doing which would increase liability. comet's gift is also incredibly generous with correcting mistakes- when you know what youre doing most damage you are going to take will be due to human error and you develop the reflex of reacting to sound and contextual cues. if ive seen three frothers and hear dwarf complaining about taking damage i can easily correct the situation and conserve crucially limited healing resources united in prayer is solid if you arent very confident in your ability to tank and doge, but ive had much better success in cata pubs with comet's gift. i've read the comments on this video and seen some people complaining that comet's gift doesn't cleanse wound- that isnt the point. the second someone goes down you know theyre going to have to clear wound. the point of comet's gift is 1. correcting mistakes that could lead to tricky situations being WAY worse, 2. avoiding certain death if you cant reposition as a team to revive your downed teammate, 3. preventing teammates from going down to begin with, as you can heal them for a lot if you know what youre doing the other situation i see united in prayer trumping comet's gift is if you're in an amazing premade and nobody is taking any damage. you'd probably be marginally to slightly more efficient with united in prayer, but comet's gift is very powerful. good video, but i dont think youve done comets gift justice
It looks like the shield punch now counts as a heavy and uses the stacks of rising judgement. If you mean doing the combo there's a comment by BurtVenthouse that has replies in the comments explaining it
Hello, thanks for the video. I'm trying to make the first combo work but after pushing it just keeps using the vertical light attack instead of the side sweep. I'm doing exactly what you are doing. Could this be patched?
Make sure you're doing the "push attack". So, hold left click through the animation of the push and you'll automatically do the "push attack" . Then you'll be locked in to the side sweeps.
Hi sorry to ask such a noob question but I'm a bit confused about the Flail/Shield light combo you mentioned at 5:10. I'm not sure if it's because of a patch or update, but not matter what I do I can't do the Push/Block>Light combo as it always does the overhead strike no matter how light I tap the attack button after the block/push button. Am I missing something
@@warmgunproduction4545 Update: I gave it a try and now I got to work. No wonder I wasn't able to before, the timing is a bit awkward so I'll need to practice. Thanks for replying.
Flail and shield is good but if you want to not die at all you should use greathammer and hammer and shield, aside from the H+S being able to tank more, it has an insane amount of stagger, i.e. every hit, thus being able to provide you with temporary health constantly.
What's the situation with the Paired Skullsplitters Stagger in comparison with the Flail & Shield? I'm curious about pairing the Stagger Aura with THP from Stagger; right now I'm running Flail & Shield + Stagger when hitting multiple targets
Dual hammers lights will stagger more than F&S lights, but the problem is F&S heavies will out-stagger anything the dual hammers can do. The hammers also lack the damage and cleave to compete with the F&S. Don't get me wrong though, the hammers are good, especially if you've grown comfortable using them with Bardin's dual hammers. If F&S is S tier then the hammers are A tier. The stagger aura and THP from stagger is the way to go! It's part of why turtling with heavies is so good on F&S, it gives you loads of THP.
super late here but dual hammers with all of his +stagger talents & opportunist actually hits all the same stagger breakpoints as the shields. I never noticed the poor cleve thought till I watched this video & they did always seem to underperform.
I go with Righteous fury gives me shield of faith I noticed it gives allies shield too for some reason so it’s even better for horde clearing Although I really need to work on not taking so much damage single fodder enemies fuck me up cause they sneak up on me or I get lazy around them a singular skaven slave does more damage to me than a chaos warrior I am livid but it’s literally just a skill issue
Nice video. Though I dissagree on WP being tier S, not even close because he is balanced for hordes and elites and doesn't have a safe counter for specials and it is horrible for bosses, he is good ONLY with a party and not being the last one alive (like battle wyzard or the second elf that can survive and revive pretty easily, I dont remember the english name of the class). Soo, fot me, tier A if playing with good people, even less on solos and cata or above
You have a point. Though in my experience my lobbies in cata QP are way smoother because of his crowd control and supportive aspects. It's more about preventing your team going down, protecting them while they kill the bosses and specials. To the point where my cata QP lobbies rarely fail with a Warrior Priest in the party because he's just so good at keeping others alive and reinforcing what the other classes excel at. Thank you for the input my guy!
people watching this particular video are most likely pugging with siennas that blow themselves up and many other randos. I used to think foot soldier was s time, but I never use him anymore
i think hes stupid easy..and i got him just for something fun to grind to bounty hunter.. and well.. playing warrior preacher ..i sware if feels op tanking wise i dont think i am almost ever downed
I don't know about this build I use tome hammer and I definitely need smiter and rising judgment to one shot hooks and black rats and being lvl 500 i feel like I know more just a bit
I’ve played with people double your play time and quite a few are ass at the game. (Not saying you are bad) play time isn’t very indicative of skill or knowledge
@@yondeefeedz Well, first of all, play time IT IS how you improve, of course more time means more probability to play better and know more. Also, he is saying only his level, not even his playtime so... Plus, he is not even saying he is good, just what it is needed to one shot that kind of enemies
Dual Hammers for dense hoards is Light>Heavy>Heavy, not Spam Light.... that may have been why it seemed to not perform as well.
good note i see people in cataclysm swear by the hammers and i was shocked to hear him pass them up.
Flail and shield is good still tho
I love shield bashing and making stagger builds so ik always prefer flail and shield over the pure dps of hammers
Good point (I often mess up the combo lol)
Flail & Shield + Dual Hammers is lowkey cracked. Flail & Shield runs through armoured enemies like nothing (goodbye Stormvermin), and the Dual Hammers with Righteous Fury smashes through hordes.
Hammers are good enough tho! But with flail and shield you can CLEAVE/STAGGER several armored elites at once this is why it’s simply better!
