During Sarah's confrontation with Nancy she said that Manol said they abused what he's given them and now they have to pay the price. So, they're powers were removed. Sarah originally wanted Chris to love her, but he was obsessed instead. He didn't warm up to her or apologize. He stared at her during class. He didn't ask her out or try to romance her, he came to her house at 3am to talk. I like movies that don't give everything away and make you pay attention or are more psychological, which is probably why I like this. It's also campy. I like the way you do reactions. You give credit where its due, but don't bs if you really don't like it.

Remember there's always a balance to be respected 3. Don't piss off a natural witch 4. Being friends mean you look out for each other and listen to each other, not to demand of the rest of the group they do whatever you want when ever you want 5. Never cast a love spell unless you're 100% sure that you know how powerful it is, 'cause they're not easy to turn off.
Love spells cant be 'turned off'.. or undone. It doesn't matter how powerful it is, or isnt. You don't EVER cast love spells on people. Its fine to cast a spell to find or attract love for yourself, and others.. but is NEVER okay to cast a lovespell on a specific person, or with a specific person in mind. Taking away someone elses free will is not cool, and will come back to bite you in the ass.
The procedure they're doing to the burned girl is actually a real thing. They scrape off the scar tissue from the burns so it doesn't get too thick and impede movement or skin elasticity. It's as horrible as it sounds.
I thought that was so funny when Mell was confused by that. I guess if you were a teenager post 90s, that wasn't a thing. Where I lived there was a large portion of the local high schools who hung out in a certain Waffle House, chain smoked, drank coffee, and would occasionally order some food and just hang out for HOURS. Good times.
It's always better to see the first film before the sequel. This movie doesn't do a lot of explaining and that's why I like it, it feels silly to me in the sequel when the characters tell the rules and all the expository...I just like to see it play out. A couple things: 1. The 3 girls were already practicing witchcraft, they just couldn't do it. Sarah happens to be a ' natural' witch - her mother was one, so not only did she help them do real magic by forming a "blood bond" with them (the cup drinking scene), Sarah also had the most talent at it. 2. Sarah was wearing a wig - she had to shave her head for a film right before, so she wore a wig for this 3. And yes, you peeped that Nancy wanted to be more powerful, she did. She asked for the power of Manol, basically, wanted to be a real witch like Sarah and more. 4. Chris was already a sexual deviant and a manipulator, so when Sarah made him "love" her, it didn't change the fact that he's an abuser, and will seek to abuse anyone he can. 5. Nancy got upset with Sarah because Sarah tried to "bind her" -- tried to limit her power. Again Nancy is power-hungry, always has been because of her abusive past. The other girls became like Nancy's lackeys and did what she said out of fear of her - they thought the 3 of them had were strong enough to take on Sarah, but Sarah was the only real witch.
Sarah is a natural witch. The other 3 were not, so they required 4 people to acquire them in spellwork. Nancy was the only one who acquired real power by invoking Manol, the other 2 were only featured in her illusions. It wasn't until Sarah invoked Manol herself that she had the power to remove them from her.
At the beginning they were talking about a 4th to complete their circle. Sarah gave them access. Mid way they talk about Sarah making everyones spells work except nancys(before she killed her moms bf). Nancy didnt need to leech off Sarah after the beach. The others leaches off Nancy after.
They got their powers through ritual, communion with Sarah, and sacrifice. Which means they will NEVER be as strong as Sarah. Hers flows through her own energy naturally, it’s a part of her. The others are simply tapping into power, but are not power themselves. They are more like leaches.

I don’t think a lot of people put together why she’s strapped to a bed. Sarah placed a spell on her there said “I bind you Nancy from doing harm. Harm to yourself and harm to other people” something like that. That’s why she was bound at the end :) very cool.

Spoilers here! Sarah was the only one with actual powers. The other three were leeching off of her. At the end, they couldn't anymore, so they lost the power they were taking from her.
Yea it doesn't..alot of people go there but that's because they don't understand how magic works..and alot of average people have a religious mind so they only know magic and spells and rituals as darkness or devil stuff. So I don't even take offense anymore...
That’s the wiccan rule, not necessarily witchcraft on it’s own. Not all witches are wiccan just like not all wiccans are witches. Btw this is no hate or anything just to try to educate haha
I can't believe you spotted the wig, Robin Tunney (Sarah) wore wigs all through the film bc she had shaved her head in Empire Records just before filming The Craft
Most of the thing in the movie are in books. Like how to learn magic. They just went to a wicca store read a few book added some bullies for backstories. I loved the movie tho. When it came out i could have been one of them.
This is one of my favorite 90's movies, I can't imagine having the same love for it seeing it out of its grander context (the mid 90's) but I was lucky enough to be a high schooler watching this high schooler movie when that cg was still fresh.
Mellow: she ain’t got no magic tricks, she just knows how to balance a pencil -Sarah- twists the pencil with her eyes grinding it into the table Me: you were saying? Lol 😂 😉
This film is very respectful of the Wicca religion, so I think the ending is correct. The laws of magic speak clearly!!! I think Nancy, got what she deserved for not listening to Lirio, words and for hurting a friend of hers.
Basically, Sarah was the only natural witch. She got her powers from her mom. The others had to siphon their powers from Sarah as they weren't born with it. Sarah realized what the were doing was wrong, especially what Nancy was doing so she wanted to bind Nancy so her powers diminished. Nancy was afraid of this so she turned on her. All Nancy wanted in her life was to be powerful and better than her circumstances which witchcraft gave her. Sarah was the source of all their powers and she threathened to take them away. Bonnie and Rochelle were mostly following Nancy's lead because they consider her a leader and someone who is more powerful than them. This is definitely a movie that appeals more to women and girls because it delves into toxic friendships, self-esteem and sexual abuse. Nancy is such a complicated character.
20:58 Rochelle and Bonnie got drunk off the power, really quickly. We know Rochelle was starting to feel guilty about that racist Laura Lizzie girl (who I think was trying to do better though I wish she'd actually said 'I treated you horribly and I had no right to do it, I know saying that I'm sorry won't fix anything but I am sorry') and that she was starting to get scared of Nancy but she was ether too scared or too used to the new power she had to take a stand and say no
Fun fact: the girl who played Sarah was originally bald at the time of her audition. They loved her audition but didn't want her to be bald...they thought it would send the wrong message or something.
I don’t know about catholic schools, but my predominantly catholic public school had a few goths and Wiccans and yeah, the mainstream population were really f-ing awful to them. This movie was really popular amongst my friends.
Funny you should say that her wig looks like Brady Bunch. Christine Taylor, the girl that played that part, played Marcia Brady in The Brady Bunch movie from 1995. ;)
3:04 I can't believe you noticed it, cause it actually was a wig, when I first saw this movie I didn't even notice until I found some facts about the movie

@@HelloMellowXVI WOO!! And totally understandable. This (along with so many others) is a favorite. But going in without any content is the best way to watch movies! Well, the chick who played Nancy? She's a practicing Wiccan (no devil worship, I promise) and gave input as well as sent for people to put in input for accuracy. Supposedly, apart from Manon, the rituals and spells are legit. Or close to it. Actually... even the invoking the spirit, I believe. But because Manon isn't real they didn't want girls to go crazy with the spellcasting. But this was the 90s, and the witch phase in the 90s was a thing. Even more!!! That scene on the beach? They had to go back to film it again because of....... interruptions. Whenever the girls would start the incantations, the beach would go crazy! Raising tide and the power going out right as Nancy screams 'Manon, fill me!'. A witch experts said that it's because Manon sounded close to Mananan a Gaelic sea god. And when it came to the girls, Sarah was a natural witch... with ALL the power. Nancy had some no doubt but not the same level as Sarah. This is why Sarah bound Nancy in the end and why Bonnie and Rochelle had no powers. They all leeched off of her. Yeah... Robin Tunney (Sarah) was wearing a wig. Sorry for the wall of text. I love movies and love triva facts about movies. I would recommend this one over the new Craft movie. Only because this one is a classic. I have trivia for most of the movies you've seen. Like The Thing. And it's just been so much to watch your reactions. I can't wait to see what you watch next! :D

I was an adult when this came out but I understood it right away. Nancy was practicing a form of witchcraft but realized she needed a natural born witch in order to speak life into her spells & 'craft'. She got drunk with the power and became unhinged hence why she was flipping out. Putting a love spell on Chris was supposed to teach him a lesson because he was going around lying on his d, but it ended up making him obsessed with her instead. The other two characters were Nancy's minions and she manipulated them to do her dirty work. Overall, this movie was okay, it had it's moments. When it comes to representation of witches, demons and all things magic.....I enjoyed the entire CHARMED series. I introduced my daughter to it and we watched it together. Some movies to watch would be TIMECOP or US MARSHALS
@@MsPhylie Honestly,. the hardest part of any movie about Witchcraft is the ability to tell the story without having to add a lot of the flashy visuals that audiences love but that aren't really authentic to the things that happen. Energy manipulation is hard for people to grasp when they don't have huge things or visuals to base things off of. And in actual Witchcraft, there is no such thing as a warlock, as that term means "Oath Breaker" and is generally frowned upon. Both male and female witches are just called witches.
With this, I really wish you would add Ginger Snaps (2000) to your list. yea, it is Canadian. But it is still very much 1990s. And teen stuff and not at all cheesy.
Look, I get it, with the whole Chris thing. To adults he is obviously a douche and not worth Sarah's time...but, she is a teenager. Most of us made pretty bad decisions about who we liked as teenagers and what we were willing to overlook because he/she was cute. The line, when she says that she believed that he was a good guy underneath, says it all. Even though she doesn't know him, she really believes that he is worth it because he is actually good underneath. Again, I've been there and given way to much credit to some a-hole who actually sucked.
Sarah was the only one with actual powers. She joined the group and that powered them all to cast spells. You're right about how the other two suddenly became bitches without any build-up to it. I never understood that either. Also the focus on Chris, who was really annoyingly bad. I have a feeling it had to do with the idea that in the 90s studio execs thought that "girl movies" NEEDED a male love interest otherwise wHaT dO wOmEn EvEn CarE aBoUt? I wish they had fucked him off and written more of the evolution of the coven's actual relationships. I can barely see how Sarah would even be into that group as friends when they treated her that way in the beginning.
I think you need to appreciate that Skeet Ulrich was under a 'love spell'. That's why he came across as a bit fake. He's not a bad actor. Not great but this is still an iconic 90s movie!
His Acting In This Movie Was Bad Before The Spell And Was Even Worse After. Nothing To Appreciate Bad Acting, That Was Just An Excuse Right There. Listen I Know You Grew Up With This Movie And Means Alot To You, But This Is My Opinion. From Me Being An Actor Myself And Been To Exposed To So Many Movies, I Know Bad Acting From Good Acting....
This is a cult fave!!! It was one of those movies that we reference a lot when we talk about the current "awakening". As a witch myself, it makes me feel so validated! LOL
Yes, Robin Tunney (Sarah) was sporting a wig. She had a shaved head from when she filmed Empire Records with Renee Zellweger, Liv Tyler and Ethan Embry. It’s a great film you should check out.
i love this movie so much, everyone is allowed their opinion. pretty sure mannon took their powers away. also i dont think it was a barrier at the shop i think it was an illusion
Coffee houses were pretty big in the 90s. That's why Borders and Barnes and Nobles were so ubiquitous with shopping malls back then. They were actually fairly popular hangouts.
As a practicing witch I gotta say this is probably one of my favorite witch movies. There’s so much that’s corny and as much as I wish we could go flying physically haha there’s a lot of deep philosophical teachings that witchcraft teaches are fairly true to the real thing. There’s so many different kinds of witchcraft and I love how this shows the potential of the solitary practitioner va the covenant. Company is a beautiful thing, but you’re better off alone than in the company of fools.
Mell or anyone watching you have any questions regarding actual witchcraft after watching this please free to ask. I’d be happy to explain what I can to the best of my knowledge.
I remember watching this movie as a kid it was 🔥 to me then I rewatch as a teenager and I was like 😒👀😂 but it was still cool, but I can explain 2 things, they tried to kill her because she did that bind thing to take away Nancys powers and the main character still had her powers because she was a ‘natural’ witch and that ritual thing gave the other girls powers
Ok I think I just fell in love lol...im a new subscriber of urs, just finished watching the American psycho vid. Which I loved...now I stumbled onto this video!!!! This is one of my favorite movies !!!!! I even have a sick tatt of Nancy in the scene where she goes nuts and charges sarah with the knife and underneath it says "WE ARE THE WEIRDOS MISTER" 😊
Appreciate you giving this a try, even if it wasn't your type of movie. Gotta say though, you definitely should do Road Trip AND Euro Trip (which I personally think is even funnier).
Witchcraft is a beautiful practice if you do it with the right intentions and always respecting nature and everyones free will. It’s not devil’s worship, you can celebrate any deity you want, or not worship any at all and just follow mother nature
I think the underlying theme is how some high school girls can be total bitches. Then u give them some witchcraft powers.. Dude yeah this is actually pretty realistic haha
The movie has many faults, but the girl who played Nancy was amazing. She's great in everything she's done. This film could have been great but the editing ruined much of it. you really are not familiar with the 90's are you ? 😅 everyone was like this back then . it shouldn't be taken so seriously , back then movies didn't info dump like they do now, we figured out on our own as the movies went . also about the racist blonde: the n word back then was still seen as a terrible slur , but there was no "national uproar" so when it appeared in movies, people didn't assume the movie makers were racists but that they were condemning said racism , just like in this movie . yet they also showed how severe her punishment was , even the black teen witch who cast the spell was freaked out by it . i really miss 90's movies a lot , especially late 90's movies . each of them had that uniqueness , from very good movies to lesser movies , they all had their unique spark :)
The beach scene was a invoking ritual. Calling in another spirit into yourself. Too much in this movie had too much artistic licensing and corny. Many things were also closely related to real practices. Either way it's a movie for entertainment people.

Witchcraft has nothing to do with Satan or demons. 😶
Well What You Expect From Some One Who Only Knew It As That? Lml
@@HelloMellowXVI You can thank propaganda from the Abrahamic religions(i.e Christianity and the like) for that 🙄
@@HelloMellowXVI research
Yea it doesn't..alot of people go there but that's because they don't understand how magic works..and alot of average people have a religious mind so they only know magic and spells and rituals as darkness or devil stuff. So I don't even take offense anymore...
One of the most basic rules of witchcraft is: "what you sow, you will reap three fold". So you can go, curse someone, just be ready to pay times 3.
That’s the wiccan rule, not necessarily witchcraft on it’s own. Not all witches are wiccan just like not all wiccans are witches. Btw this is no hate or anything just to try to educate haha
@@mathosplays Thank you lol.
26:31 Nancy, Bonnie and Rochelle misused their powers, so they were stripped f them
I can't believe you spotted the wig, Robin Tunney (Sarah) wore wigs all through the film bc she had shaved her head in Empire Records just before filming The Craft
Thank you.. I was about to say that also..
I love this movie. Apparently the guys who made the TV show "Charmed" loved it too. To a point where I'm a little surprised they didn't get sued.
Mellow: she ain’t got no magic tricks, she just knows how to balance a pencil
-Sarah- twists the pencil with her eyes grinding it into the table
Me: you were saying?
Yeah, Robin Tunney (Sarah) was wearing a wig during this film because she'd shaved her head for her part in "Empire Records" (1995). :)
Skeet Ulrich has an amazing performance in Scream, you should definitely check it out.
Love all the Scream movies... So good!
This movie is so 90s .. I love it. Lol love ur comments!
Lmao Thank You So Much, It Was A Good Watch I Would Say.
1996
@@jp3813 I meant 90s lol.. I never recheck my messages ha ha
Watching you watch this.... Sooo much I want to tell you! Trivia, tidbits, facts...
I'm loving the shit out of this!
Lmao Please Tell Me All! I Never Look Up Stuff On Movies I’m About To Watch, I Want The Reaction To Be That Real And Genuine And Entertaining. I Know Some People Want To Watch Someone Who Knows The Trivia And Stuff But To Me That Ruins The Reaction Because Then I’ll Know What Certain Things Happen
OMG.....This Is What I Love And My Goal, To Build A Community Of People Who Love Movies And Gaming And Talk About It. I Love Everything You Told Especially The Beach Lmao. This Is Another Reason Why I Don’t Research, I Like To Talk To You Guys About It. Thank You So Much For Your Support
This was my favorite movie growing up as a kid ngl I had nightmares with bugs and snake scenes lmao
Every sleepover in elementary school we would attempt that whole "light as a feather, stiff as a board" thing too lol
“I don’t even know what snake you talkin bout.”😂😂
Love how annoyed you were with this movie 😂😂😂😂
Yep!!!
The actress from Waterboy is so 🔥
i love this movie so much, everyone is allowed their opinion. pretty sure mannon took their powers away. also i dont think it was a barrier at the shop i think it was an illusion
Coffee houses were pretty big in the 90s. That's why Borders and Barnes and Nobles were so ubiquitous with shopping malls back then. They were actually fairly popular hangouts.
I've always enjoyed supernatural movies and this is one of my favorites.
My sister's and my cousins did light as a feather stiff as a board and my grandma caught them. She had them pray for an hour.
i've always heard that power corrupts. i don't think power corrupts ~ i think it #reveals
You had to be a teen in the 90s to Really appreciate this movie!
I wasn’t a teen in the 90s and this is my favorite movie
"Damn snitch, what are you doing'?" 🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅
Look it's Sidney and Billy Loomis in this movie 😂
21:33 yeah i feel like the shopkeeper wouldve easily folded nancy, wouldve loved to know more about her
Ok I think I just fell in love lol...im a new subscriber of urs, just finished watching the American psycho vid. Which I loved...now I stumbled onto this video!!!! This is one of my favorite movies !!!!! I even have a sick tatt of Nancy in the scene where she goes nuts and charges sarah with the knife and underneath it says "WE ARE THE WEIRDOS MISTER" 😊
New watcher here. I hope it's not weird to say, but you have really nice eyes. Keep rocking on, dude.
Lmao That's Not Weird At All, I Hear It Alot.
I stopped playing with toys after seeing this movie as a kid
Appreciate you giving this a try, even if it wasn't your type of movie. Gotta say though, you definitely should do Road Trip AND Euro Trip (which I personally think is even funnier).
Witchcraft is a beautiful practice if you do it with the right intentions and always respecting nature and everyones free will. It’s not devil’s worship, you can celebrate any deity you want, or not worship any at all and just follow mother nature
We don’t worship the devil
In the actual movie, she did not say nappy hair she said the actual N word
The 3 girls needed their 4th to complete their coven. So, when Sara came their powers got stronger.
13:15 dude it’s a movie. It doesn’t have to obey the rules of physics. Lol damn son
What Are You Talking About? I Wasn't Talking About Physics I Was Talking About How They All Just Got Powers With No Explanation
@@HelloMellowXVI cause they are witches lol
P.S GHOST SHIP!! AND 13 GHOSTS, if you haven't already.
Robin Tunney (Sarah) was wearing a wig because her character shaved her head in the movie she was in previously (Empire Records).
But you don't seem to understand he's under a spell he's confused you don't know what's going on
It's about their magic coming back times three. Letting the power go to their head. The story had a purpose.
25:19 MellVerse up in here channeling Mr. Poopybutthole from Rick&Morty.
Saw your face in the thumbnail and was like Not passing this up
Horror Movie Request: Mama, The Exorcist, or The Fourth Kind. Truly scary films 👍
I mean...she didn't EXACTLY kill a man on purpose
I think the underlying theme is how some high school girls can be total bitches. Then u give them some witchcraft powers.. Dude yeah this is actually pretty realistic haha
The movie has many faults, but the girl who played Nancy was amazing. She's great in everything she's done. This film could have been great but the editing ruined much of it. Love the 90s vibe though, being a 90s girl myself lol. And I don't begrudge you your opinions. Rather you say how you feel than pander to the people.
7:25 That's the same spot they're in during the movie's intro 🎬🍿 It's their little witch club house (I'm sure there's an actual name for it). 🤣

Tbh bro that bvs reaction probably won't be out until either this weekend Or next monday. It usually takes me like two or three days to edit these and make sure I get no blocked copyright and make sure they somewhat funny or conversational. I haven't started editing too. I will tomorrow though

If it is okay, I would like to make a Movie Reaction Video request below (I have actually made this same exact request to a heck of a lot of Movie Reactors here on RUclips and many of them have done it).
That said, If you haven't already seen it yet then is there any chance you can do a Reaction Video to "John Carpenter's THE THING" ?
If Yes, then it is an R-rated Science Fiction Horror Movie that came out back in 1982 and it stars Kurt Russell.
Bro I Would Absolutely Love To Watch The Thing Thank You So Much For The Request, That Will Be Coming Up Very Soon. You Know I Never Seen It, I Only Seen Like Parts.
you really are not familiar with the 90's are you ? 😅
everyone was like this back then . it shouldn't be taken so seriously , back then movies didn't info dump like they do now, we figured out on our own as the movies went . also about the racist blonde: the n word back then was still seen as a terrible slur , but there was no "national uproar" so when it appeared in movies, people didn't assume the movie makers were racists but that they were condemning said racism , just like in this movie . yet they also showed how severe her punishment was , even the black teen witch who cast the spell was freaked out by it .
i really miss 90's movies a lot , especially late 90's movies . each of them had that uniqueness , from very good movies to lesser movies , they all had their unique spark :)
The beach scene was a invoking ritual. Calling in another spirit into yourself. Too much in this movie had too much artistic licensing and corny. Many things were also closely related to real practices. Either way it's a movie for entertainment people.
