Hello! There was some slight oversight on my part regarding the enchanted swords! If you die to one, they'll still be there and kill you over and over again. So I would recommend using something like a spider summon with titanium armour. Maybe throw in a heart lantern / bast statue or something just to be really safe! Really sorry for my oversight, but I still hope the farm helps! And I forgot about luck too, make hallowed torches and other luck items like garden gnomes! Right, and if you're having problems, please doublecheck if you had placed walls where you're standing. Chaos elementals won't spawn if you're standing in front of walls. *P.S If you're going to say that the slime and target dummy thing will work for i-frames, it won't. If you're also going to talk about minecarts, those don't work too. A grappling hook does work, though it detaches itself after some time, thus defeating the AFK nature. Is it really that hard to just use a frog leg???*

I recommend using this setup except with an artificial underground jungle biome instead of Hallow. Elemental ONLY require the pearlstone platform to spawn, they will continue to spawn regardless of biome. Jungle increases spawn rates. This also removes the Hallowed Mimic issue. The Enchanted Swords will still spawn, so the same spawn point method and summons resolve that. Also, as of 1.4.0.1, Chaos Elementals stop spawning if the player has been inactive for a while. This can be solved with autoswinging or autofiring weapons, just hold M1
You can also just use a Shadow Candle which allows chaos elementals to spawn without moving... to craft you need a graveyard biome, then using a workbench 3 demonite/crimson bars, and a torch!
@@Zuzucorn I just poured alot of hallow sand. Also a good tip is to place jungle block since it increases spawn rate of mobs. Like block from golem temple.
Or get one while you're farming for the blade staff because enchanted swords do not like to spawn and do not want to drop it I have a freaking Enchanted Sword banner The staff has a 1/35 drop rate Fmfl
An alternative to the Frog Leg can be the Slimy Saddle, it can also auto jump so if anybody is having trouble catching the Frog Leg, just kill a King Slime or two.
Bonus tip: If you didn't know, you can place the right biome torches (hallowed torches for hollowed biome for example) to make your luck a little better, also you can craft some luck potions (made with pearls and ladybugs) to also make your luck also a bit better hope this helps a little :)
I think my favorite terraria moment in a video I watched was someone doing a blind run of terraria, they they found a rod of discord almost immediately after going underground in the 3rd episode and put it in a chest and never used it because it hurt them when they tried to use it more than once really fast that first time 🤣🤣🤣
Umm, i made the almost exact same farm, and it already took me all night and still not get any. It's not that the farm sucks, it's just the probability to drop the rod is too low
I've found that using a hook and attaching to the ceiling counts as moving! This works super well with exactly 5 summons of the tempest staff. The summons will protect you from swords and mimics, as well as increasing speed of damage within the lava!
I’ve made this but I’m on console and I’m still in 1.3 but I don’t get any chaos elementals. But then when I leave the room and walk around I get them I don’t know what’s wrong
i would say that using the frog leg is way better, as it allows autojump, you will still be able to "move" even after being beaten up by hallowed mimics, while using hooks will force you to grapple to a block again everytime you get killed, which is much more inconvenient
I finally freaking got it. I used the exact same setup but I added hallowed torches and gnomes for luck. I also added a few spiky ball traps in the lava pit using actuators to make the enemies die faster. I also made two storage chests for each and every possible item that would drop from the farm and I set up a macro that would hot deposit my inventory every once in a while. I went afk overnight and woke up with 5 rods

here's another tip: using conveyor belts for mimics isn't a bad idea considering that they don't prevent enemies from spawning and they also move mimics into the lava in the bottom

you actually dont need there to be a hollow biome for the elementals to spawn, so only make the spawning part of hallow stone and then you wont get mimcs and swords

Amazing farm! While I was building it, my minions killed a chaos elemental and it dropped the rod. It was raining, so I went to defeat the Moon Lord and did it. I enjoyed the credits in a lantern night, putting an end to my Master Mode Summoner playthrough that I started in November 1st of 2020. 10/10 good farm
I have startet farming for one yesterday. I now have over a thousand souls of light, three hallowed keys and 25 platinum but I still don‘t have a rod of discord - after killing 700 elementals. I am absolutely building this farm! You are a true savior Zuzucorn!
Hey Zuzucorn! I used the old Happy Days Farm in 1.4 and Chaos Elements spawned, because I grappled onto the underside of the "volcano". I also used a minion to kill the enchanted swords. So the afk farms still work, but you have to grapple onto something to make Chaos Elements to spawn. Hope I helped!

Here’s a tip to anyone who is having trouble weighing down your space bar. You can rebind jump to left click and turn on an auto clicker, or weight down your mouse (it’s way easier with your mouse then space bar)Hope I helped!
@@CoffeeKYA yeah that's how the walls were like that, but chaos elementals will still spawn. If you are having a lot of problems getting them to spawn, try using a battle potion and water candles from the dungeon. That's my combo to get the invasion event, so you will probably get a good amount of spawns.
VERY USEFUL TIP: if you build the farm in a hardmode celebrationmk10 world, the odds of the rod of discord dropping get increased from 1/500 to 1/100 which is huge, it is worth the time building it in this other world, also dont forget gnomes and water candles to help with the farm. Just build the farm like normal because chaos elementals will spawn on the pearlstone blocks, you dont have to find an underground hallow to build the farm in.
Thanks for the awesome video! I started my farm now and its currently working. I'm doubling it to earn unholy amounts of Souls of Light. Also, for the movement part, I found out that you can set up a small minecart rail with bouncing ends and start moving. You will bounce forever and won't have to leave anything heavy over your keyboard. Thanks once again!

You can set your spawn in a bed 300 blocks above the afk spot and have a dart trap knock you onto a teleporter with a pressure plate on it to get back to the farm. That will despawn any enchanted swords. By using a shadow candle you can allow the chaos elementals to spawn without holding down space. Another thing is that you don't need 3 dart traps, just one will do the same thing since the enemies get invincibility frames after being hit.
I remember I couldn't beat that a**hole for like a year. So I quit the game for a few months. Then I got terraria on the nintendo switch, I managed to find an enchanted sword, ( and I was a noob and I thought it was bad) so I jokingly used it against the wall with the slime mount, and then I won. It was the best feeling ever. And then spinning turtles killed me lol
Zuzucorn you have helped me with so many things on terraria I got the zenith because of you the flying saucer mount the drill containment unit as well I think
Here’s what I found to work. Flying mounts do not work at all. Nor does jumping or Hooks of any kind. You cannot be near walls on on walls. Within 4 blocks. And you have to be constantly moving whether it’s walking around or swinging a sword. If you’re on console you can either hold down/spam the trigger, tape it or turn on autoswing and hold/tape the trigger. Hope this helps.
If you have scource of the corruptor you can fire it at the ground and kill all enchanted swords, and most mimics. Theyll hurt you for sure, but they almost always die before you. Down side is your inventory will fill with mimic items
MAN , I was building this but a little bigger 150 x 220 and just even i finished making the slopes, didnt evn put the lava yet and i got the rod of discord~! you sir are a GENIUS!
Another way you can potentially improve this farm is by using a sentry like the Portal Staff directly below you just incase a Hallowed Mimic does activate.

But mimics count as enemies and thus, their position/movement won't be affected by conveyor belts.

Protip: Use geysers pre-golem, or spiky ball traps post-golem as protection against the enchanted swords :)

I also recommend using the Daedalus stormbow with the endless quiver to ensure that you don’t run out of arrows while afk

if you build the farm in a hardmode celebrationmk10 world, the odds of the rod of discord dropping get increased from 1/500 to 1/100 which is huge,
it is worth the time building it in this other world, also dont forget gnomes and water candles to help with the farm. Just build the farm like normal because chaos elementals will spawn on the pearlstone blocks, you dont have to find an underground hallow to build the farm in.

Thanks for the awesome video! I started my farm now and its currently working. I'm doubling it to earn unholy amounts of Souls of Light.
Also, for the movement part, I found out that you can set up a small minecart rail with bouncing ends and start moving. You will bounce forever and won't have to leave anything heavy over your keyboard.

regarding the enchanted sword, you can just have the excalibur autoswing, the enchanted swords won't be able to touch you.

P.S on my first playthrough i got it without grinding for it and I didnt know what it was, but I kept it, best decision of my life
if you don't want to use autojump, mounts or wings, you can just grapple and it will count as you moving
You can set your spawn in a bed 300 blocks above the afk spot and have a dart trap knock you onto a teleporter with a pressure plate on it to get back to the farm. That will despawn any enchanted swords. By using a shadow candle you can allow the chaos elementals to spawn without holding down space. Another thing is that you don't need 3 dart traps, just one will do the same thing since the enemies get invincibility frames after being hit.

I remember I couldn't beat that a**hole for like a year. So I quit the game for a few months. Then I got terraria on the nintendo switch, I managed to find an enchanted sword, ( and I was a noob and I thought it was bad) so I jokingly used it against the wall with the slime mount, and then I won. It was the best feeling ever.
And then spinning turtles killed me lol

Zuzucorn you have helped me with so many things on terraria I got the zenith because of you the flying saucer mount the drill containment unit as well I think
Here’s what I found to work.
Flying mounts do not work at all. Nor does jumping or Hooks of any kind.
You cannot be near walls on on walls. Within 4 blocks.
And you have to be constantly moving whether it’s walking around or swinging a sword. If you’re on console you can either hold down/spam the trigger, tape it or turn on autoswing and hold/tape the trigger.
Hope this helps.
If you have scource of the corruptor you can fire it at the ground and kill all enchanted swords, and most mimics. Theyll hurt you for sure, but they almost always die before you. Down side is your inventory will fill with mimic items

I had to improvise some barriers to stop the elementals from attacking me while afk-ing but got the rod of discord pretty quickly.

Another way you can potentially improve this farm is by using a sentry like the Portal Staff directly below you just incase a Hallowed Mimic does activate.
