- In Terraria, getting your hands on certain resources can be tricky, and getting them in large amounts can be even harder. Luckily though, you can use certain farms to make those processes easier, and even easily find super rare items like the rod of discord and slime staff

So i turned my mobfarm to rod of discord farm and then the chaos elemental just dropped it,not even 15 second i standing in the box.
i got one killing a chaos elementel whilst setting up the farm :)
I got it while building the farm, 3 chaos elemental came towards me and killed them using true nights edge i was shocked ,it was just 112 chaos i randomly killed then they drop it me not knowing its 0.1% chance of dropping lol

Fun fact: drops from statues are 8 times more rare, so if you're farming for the slime staff, there'll be a 1 in 80,000 chance of it dropping after killing the slime

The gnome farm isn't useless. The point of collecting gnomes is that you can place them and they'll give a small luck bonus, so farming them and putting one at each of your farms is a useful way to add extra drop-chance of rare items. Also you don't need both gem trees and housing, so long as you set up a small town (2 houses+) in the underground gem critters will spawn, they also spawn if gem trees are around, but you don't need both to get results.
Are you sure I have 3 npcs at underground layer but there is still no gem critters. I also have gem trees

Actuator Planter farms are simple and with some Conveyor blocks will bring the product to you. Just make them in the suitable Biomes that boost the crops potential. Flip the switch which turn the solid part of the planter off and the Actuator creates an instant harvest effect. Harvest conditions still apply though. Like location, weather, and time.

You can make some crazy afk farms. Farming in Terraria is super underrated, and you'd be amazed at what you can automate. For example a fully automatic obsidian farm, using for the worthy skeletron prime to break the obsidian. By the way, no gem trees are needed to spawn gem critters, just the npcs are needed
YEA, BUT THE tree gives a pretty visual look to the scene

You can turn gnomes into Garden Gnomes which are a peaceable furniture object that gives a luck bonus to anyone in range.
Luck increases drop rates. far from useless
I can simplify a invasion farm to this: Door, Titanium armor, a area to trap nimus cloud enemies, a minion focusing on the cloud. All other enemies will walk into the titanium barrier and die, and the cloud being attacked replenishs it
I found blood moon fishing farms to be very useful!
Me a new player learning that the celestial slime staff i got early game and replaced with the imp staff was apparently hugely lucky find.

gemfarm, also its a hammer to change blocks to the slanted, pokey, etc not axe like you said in the video :P I know there's a hammaxe later on so that may be where you got the mixup from.
Y know i was creating myself my own auto gem farm (using shimmer) yes thats was realy useful for money and crafting
You can make a crystal dupe that is really good for money where you place two blocks two blocks away and place a platform and hammer it into a stair on the right side then place a crystal shard on the open spot in between the two blocks
i only wish we seen the hud, so could tell if its just journey mode with spawnrate set on max, or its the standard spawnrate.

Simplest money farm is still the star farm. All you need is blocks at the sky level and run back and forth all night or if you want to get fancy use teleporters or a mine cart track.
Or make a hoik that drags them to a collection spot

Somehow i got my rod of discord before hitting the 50 chaos elementals killed mark and without marking a farm. I honestly wasnt even trying to get it, just trying to farm souls of light
a REALLY easy money farm is a granite elemental farm. Use granite elemental statues hooked up to a timer with little lava under them, then just afk. These drop “Geodes” which act like treasure bags, and drop gems. They stack up quickly, and after you sell all the gems you get a LOT of gold.

@@vrtr1Granite Golems will drop Geodes, however, the drop rate is decreased due to the golems being summoned by a statue. I have a Granite farm that uses a Granite Golem Statue. The golems drop Geodes quite often.
Honey is a lot more useful if you buy bubble blocks from the Party Girl & suspend it in the air as a single block to run through. Best if you place it in the middle so you have time to build boot speed as you approach & lose less time if you're in a rush, but I've made setups were you can just stand in it too lol.
Careful not to place the block at face level though if you do that :P It'll drown you

Ever try'ed to slot 1 bucket of honey into your slot bar and move the cursor over your character and then press the left mouse button twice so you pour the honey over yourself and catch the honey back up in the bucket right away so you are no longer in need to build the honey pools with multiple buckets? :p
In a heat of battle, pre set honey pool is better,@@XepppX

1. You can make honey pools where you step into as you run over them.
2. You can make honey bubbels because if you have the full upgraded terrarian boots, you will walk over the pool so then bubbels are better so you can walk true the bubbel.
3. Or using the 1 slot honey bucket method since it doesn't slow you down like the other 2 methods do.
Allso keep in mind that when you use the terrarian boots and you fly in air and drop a bucket on yourself that it will start to fall down and you will automaticly go stand on top of it and falling down allong with it which means that you are standing with your feet on "ground" and giving you a refresh on your flight time aswell.
So yeah it will be according to your gameplay what's trick does the best.
Yeah ocean money farm is cool but the black reclusive farm is OP

a easier thing to build for a gem critter farm is build 2 npc houses in the aether. it works really well as long as you leave one of the gem trees there

Gnomes are 1g a pop so that's good money
I don't know if it is fixed or something but my rod of discord farm isn't working on 1. 4. 4 .9 version anymore
I use mount / grappling hook to "make the player move" because holding the spacebar and finding frog legs just for the farm is too annoying but it seems like it doesn't work anymore
Can anyone confirm this or has a new farm that is truly 100% afk and we don't have to do anything?
the grappling hook doesnt seem to work anymore, i suggest you fish for crates so you get the frog leg and resort to autojumping, that works like a charm. and dont forget that where you stand, you shouldnt have walls behind you!
There is a way to build like that so your charracter keeps on bouncing.

yea but this RoD farm has some things that weren't mentioned like holy swords and biome mimics which seriously handicap the farm, search for an actual RoD farm for an improved design
Soo this is funny to every person I’ve ever told coming from dark souls as my favorite game I never looked up video until I beat is myself with no guidance. Didn’t know farms were a thing until this exciting to play it again now lol

Did you add backround wallls to the bottom half of the build and if u did chaos elemtall spawn rates are low so ur prob just unlucky

It's the Drill Containment Unit. You need several different bars including the Moon Lord's Luminite bars. It's very end game and veeeeery useful

An arena is a non-afk boss farm.
best money farm is the crystal shard glitch. 10 minuets and you have all the money you'll ever need.

Oh NVM it's just with traps and lava they don't drop anything
I didnt know about the lava, but another thing to note is that certain mobs won't have their full drop list if they are spawned from statues
I cant remember which ones exactly, but the jellyfish and slime statues aren't one them

2. Now move your cursor with the bucket selected on top of your charracter.
3. click twice on the left mouse button.
e voila...you just learned one of the most OP tactics in the game!
You can ramp up the difficulty from normal to expert or from expert to master just by learning this tactic. :p
Allso another "farm" not mentioned into this video but exactly the same as slime and jellyfish farms is the mana star farm!!!
Magic users can make the exact same farms in there arenas wich will make it like that if the slime or jellyfish dies when you have spend any mana point....
They will drop mana stars for you to recover your mana pool while fighting!!!!!!
So using the most powerfull magic weapons that soaking your mana and being in need to stop dps'ing or potting you into mana sickness aint needed anymore if you just make such a trap into your arena. :p
