Hey design champs! There is a run-down shed on my property that I am going to renovate into a tiny house over the next thirty days (hopefully). I'm going to put it on airbnb and see if we can get some guests! If you want to follow along with me on the journey i'm going to make a video about it everyday for the next 30 days! Today I did all the trim on the house to get ready for the lap siding!

As much as I enjoy seeing the progress of the house, deep down I'm lowkey sad because once this is done, where else will I get the most bombastic 5 minutes of my day???
30 days to build another Airbnb property
30 days to build an Airbnb✨ LEGO EDITION!!! ✨
@@robertlyall as much as I'd love to see this, I'd love for Zimri to rest. I have once worked a whole month with no days off, and I was dead. And that's without recording the work, editing, posting videos and responding to comments. What he's doing is incredibly taxing
ready for the best 5 minutes of my day for 30 days
Why are you fast?
Lol
A laser level would let you mark lines across two sides to the far corners, then wrap around the house. Not sure if you have access to one.
Aren't there any "siding tape" with marks you can just stick onto the corners?
I would give this episode 3/5 stars. too much wind (this series is blowing me away!)
You can do it !!! Gonna be the best Airbnb in all the land
Coco comes to check my man everyday. Goodest doggo ever.
I honestly had no idea building a house could require that many nails
The average house has fifty billion nails in it 😂
This should be called ‘THE NAILGUN HOUSE’
Zimri! Before you cover up all of your vapor barriers with siding, I would tape all the seams with insulating tape so that it really creates a barrier! With them just stapled and patched together it probably won’t perform as well as it could potentially :)
Hey Zach! I need to read up a bit more on this, but I was under the impression that house wrap cannot work as a vapor barrier? it's my general belief that it's better to ere on the side of more airflow, as trying to create vapor or air barriers quite often causes more damage because water inevitably cannot dry out. But there is a difference of opinion on the subject especially in crawl spaces and attics. Try to stop all water from entering, or have plenty of air flow so things can dry out quickly? I'm just using the house wrap as a last line of defense against leaks. So the water can run down and out behind the siding if it does get in there : ) I actually think it's higher risk to try to tighten things up on this particular build, of course I could be wrong : p thank you man!
@@zimrimayfield oo you have a point there. It depends what kind of wrap you have on there. Some brands combine the VB with the house wrap so you don’t have to install twice. I just finished an internship with a residential architecture firm based in Dallas, and they recommend installing a VB on the outside of the sheathing, similar to what you’ve done here. In terms of airflow, the regular opening of a door and windows should be enough to allow fresh air to circulate and moist air to escape. I would be more concerned about humidity entering rather than being let out. Either way, I would definitely make sure at least your top and side seams are taped if they are visible! Water could potentially find its way down the top of that little patch you have on there. And idk how strict they are down there with inspections and whatnot (coming from PA) but be sure you’re keeping up with code just so you don’t run into any issues later on!
Fun and educational for the whole family.
perhaps you should say 30 days for exterior and 30 for interior
People, don't forget to join the patreon! We're only 3 people away from 100!!
Keep it up, Zimri! Is it only me or 10 days seem pretty difficult to finish it?
Even if he doesn't, I hope he extends and goes all the way to completion
It's incredible that this was a rotten shed full of debris and sitting on the floor just 3 weeks ago. Now it's a watertight shell, completely rebuilt in a different position, and up off the ground. Lots of progress. It's inspiring to see.
Keep going buddy. You are doing excellent work 👍
Congrats on the progress pawsum !
I take it there’s no time for a tornado bunker
See you tomorrow😄
Yooo sick 360 brah
Yeah buddy!
A part of me wants to zimiri to go to lowe's parking lot just because it's more zimri content to enjoy
From now on, the "shaky cam" plugin needs to be increased by +1 per every mention of the word siding.
this is day awesome! i few outdoot outlets would be nice for those future outdoor lights and possible electric cars ... :D
YOU GOT THIS MY GOOD SIR!!!!
@2:27 this is a designer designing. muchly smartage.
Maybe add an extra 10 days for the inside 🙈
Good idea Meruna! maybe an extra 20 just to be safe : )
Commenting for the algorithm
I am learning so much from this. Will there be siding on the inside walls as well? Some kind of plaster maybe?
Bro, thanks for the video! Tennis Fliiipin’ Ballz
Hi Zimri, you're awesome, & keep positive! Followed you a long time for logo designs, Can I ask where you find your music to your videos?
Thanks rocky! Yeah for sure, I use epidemic sound :))
schrodinger's siding
Woooohooo!
Let's goo
🐦🎾
We are all just temporary knobs on the big door of life
love that
I just love your positivity, even when things don't always goes to plan. You've got my support in South Africa!
Thanks for sharing and making us all smile everyday with your hard work and great attitude! Something that could really make your property stick out here and raise the value/experience would be some nice landscaping! After you finish this series/project I would love to see your attempts at transforming the yard. Uggg but I really can t wait to see you decorate the place 🤩🤩🤩
Already my favorite Airbnb in Lubbock, Texas.
Make a garden next! Or a hobbit hole or something.
YOU ARE MY MOTIVATION!!! THANK YOU!!! 😉👍
You were supposed to put 3 more nails in!!
Zimrii, Zimrii, Zimri... you have to give your Patron a little mention🧐🧐🧐. Pd: love the vids✨️
Think about the grain for a moment and expansion problem ;)
That nail gun sounds a little like Eye of the Tiger. Ha ha ha!
I also expand seasonally
Lets Go!
good night
I hope you’re gonna get some help to meet that deadline. I don’t see yourself finishing everything without a mental breakdown otherwise. Can I offer my help? 😜
lET'S GO! Few days left!
Looking SO GOOD dude!!
ur doing very well !! good job
Zimri- question - why don’t you mitre the joints round the window frames? You just butt them up to each other, is this normal in the US?
It's normal in Canada. Although we would require flashing.
paint the siding like a zebra, alternating the boards black and white
I would have guessed it would be easier to paint after building.
Yeah : ) one of the reasons is you have to tape off windows and doors, and worry about overspray. You also have to try to get into cracks and use ladders etc. If you lay all the pieces out on a tarp before hand you don't have to worry about any of that, so makes it a bit easier :))
@@zimrimayfield ah ok dope. keep up the great work man.
Dude, please after this house, we need you in graphic design content! :3 I like that you're liking what you are doing, but we need another DCC series!
So much daylight left, I think zim secretly wants to hang out outside Lowe's.
