Thank you for sharing your beautifu story. Very sad that you lost him but goes to show you we simply cannot know the future and should just take advantage of the present(when you got together perhaps others might have told you but what about when you grow old: you may get sick or die before him). Such worries never had to be faced because he sadly left this earth too soon but glad you had the time together and seem to have taken each day at a time.

I know I’m way too late but I just want to add - my mom is 17 years older than my dad and they have been married happily over 40 years. No one gets to judge other than the 2 people involved. And personally as someone who has watched the newer episodes since I just discovered you recently I’m so glad Philip is an integral part of your story - even though you were forced to reveal more than you wanted to
When I, Stephanie at 48, met my Philippe he was 24, half my age. You can imagine what was said to me from every side. We didn't care, we had fun, we bought two dogs, went out dining three times a week, went to Amsterdam then NY ( his first time on a plane ) and generally had a good time. We even moved to South America from France. Best to go with your heart and not listen to jealous old farts who would LOVE to do the same thing. Life is short. xxxxxx
I think there is a point where stuff like this can be inappropriate. I wouldn't do it, date someone younger than my children, and I think in most cases it wouldn't work out. But this case is different. Phillip is very mature, and Stephanie is still young and very beautiful. Also their tastes and interests are an incredible once-in-a-lifetime match. But you don't need to think anyone who disapproves is jealous. The only thing I'm jealous of is Stephanie's great figure!

@@HopeLaFleur1975 As I said I would not consider a younger man at my age or for that matter any man at all, I am happy alone. When I met my own Philippe I certainly had no intention of having an affair and even less of a relationship but one day we realised that we were living together, it just happened. I had been in a string of abusive relationships and he was nice to me and at that point I needed that. My own daughter who is 48 is with a 24 year old man and she is blissfully happy. She lost her husband to a horrible cancer three years ago and was not in a good way until she met her boyfriend. It will not last as they never do but if it put's he back into life then who cares, not me.

My dearest husband was 12 years younger than me. I never noticed it a bit. He made me laugh every single day. We were truly soul mates. He is gone now but I miss him so much that I can't breathe sometimes. Age means nothing!!

It's hard. I'm in the same boat. Age means noting.
My husband is 13yrs older than I am and we've been happily married for 33yrs! Age is just a number, if you love each other, love life and make what time you have together count, nothing and no one will tear you apart! Stay true to yourselves and if history is anything to go by, many relationships where the woman is the older partner lasts and is usually heavenly when the male partner is more attentive and therefore well worth plunge! lol My own grandparents were married in 1929 and their relationship lasted until my grandfather passed in 1984, and gran lived on to be 104 until she passed in 2004! She was older then he was!

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I knew a dear man in his mid 40s who was married 4 times, each time to a woman in her 20s. Each time, the marriage ended. After the babies, the young women wanted to go out to dance parties. He was always uncomfortable going to dance clubs with 20-somethings bopping around, embarrassed really. So, sometimes, stage of life can make a negative impact - a 50-year old may be on the way to winding down while and 25 year old is winding up! But one can’t make a general rule.
Philip is soooo way beyond his young years and you are so lively and energetic your souls meet in the middle--

Personally I can’t think of any 25 year olds I could possibly consider as a boyfriend but I do know people who have spouses 20 years apart and they’re happy so doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. Stephanie is 25 at heart and she and Philip have so much fun together. What could be better?

The sound of the ocean has me in tears! I was in South Africa a few years ago and I fell in love with the people I met and the country! Proximity to the ocean was my favourite part … when I can’t sleep I play the videos of the waves and wind and it’s very calming! Thanks for the lovely visit!

I lived in Kwazulu for 5 years as a child, just an hour away from Durban. Moved back to my birth-country, Germany, in 1989 and I still miss Africa. Never had the chance to visit there again.
Before we left in '89, friends of ours gifted us a goodbye-stay at their beach house in Balito. It looked just like the area your mother lives in, and these monkeys were there, too. You couldn't leave any windows open, or they'd get in. XDXDXD
One day, they sat in the driveway and I fed them cookies. My mother was scared they'd bite my hand off, but they were actually very careful and cute.
You just took me back to my childhood and to much happier days with this video! I'm wishing you loads of fun with your family and that beautiful place if you're currently still there, and a safe journey back home when the time comes. ♥

My husband was 25 years older than myself and we were happily married for 22 years. We were best friends and had many things in common much like Stephanie and Phillip. Like my husband, Stephanie is very young at heart and I think that makes all the difference! I am glad that Isabelle is understanding and accepting of the situation. Do be careful and don't leave alcohol in old decanters for any length of time. The alcohol leaches the lead from the crystal. New decanters have a coating on the interior to prevent this.

I am a South African and have lived in France for more than 20 years but I still miss the coast. I remember many happy holidays on South Broom beach and seeing the vegetation and the monkeys has brought me to tears.
Never visited there but the place was absolutely beautiful!!

Being a South African I know that you should never feed wild animals ever. Even feeding birds in your garden, due to their calls, encourages monkeys or apes to arrive. Baboons can be extremely dangerous particularly the loners who have been kicked out of the troop, so do take care.
NEVER ever feed wild animals near your house . In the wild in time of drought yes but not near your habitation . If you stop feeding them by mistake they will retaliate and be very distructif in doing so .They can become very nasty . That goes for birds too especialy parrots .

I had a relationship with someone 12 years younger. It wasn’t age that was the problem. In fact his youth and enthusiasm energized me. I still think he’s a great guy and we had an amazing adventure and plenty of good times. It just ran it’s time and he took on a full time career after he finished college. He needed to focus on that (medicine) then Covid happened too. Life moves on. I have zero regrets of the time we were together. I also want him to pursue his dreams and I remember that time when it was important to me establish myself. I respect him even more for his ambition. Worth every minute and he was beautiful to look at. 😉

Hi Stephanie and all Lelanders, I absolutely love watching each and everyone of your videos. Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and at first was devastated. My oncologist told me it was NOT a death sentence and I was so relieved!!! Needless to say many tests to deal with and 2 surgeries. I start chemo next and then radiation. Your channel has brought so much joy to me and many, many laughs that were so needed. I do have a excellent care team at the hospital and lots of support from all my friends, family and church members. Thank you for sharing your life at LeLande!!! :)
Good luck going through all of this. It certainly isn’t a death sentence (Mummy and Gerry have both recovered from cancer) but I know how worrying it is. I wish you a speedy recovery ❤️
I’ve had breast cancer twice over the last 24 years and 2 other cancers. It’s a very hard thing to receive a diagnosis but you will get through it! Look for the 6 hour Pride and Prejudice series. That was my best therapy during my chemo treatments. 😘

I was a bit surprised about Phillip too when it was announced. But it was also a relief to see Stephanie have so many things in common with a man that also prefers a relationship with someone of the opposite sex. It only took an extra 21 years.
