Crazy that from a roll this car with damn near half the power was keeping up with the hoonicorn... not a ford guy by any means... but thats some serious engineering and tech going into that GT500... very impressive
The real question is why they showed the fast cars early and the slow cars now. All these episodes were probably made within a couple days (maybe 2 or 3) and are shown now over the holydays. So why not mix it up a bit or go from slow to fast. Unless they have some fast stuff left to show. Who knows. But yeah. It's kinda lame that you know the result after reading the title pretty much. The recent Fords are probably only in the series because of Ken's link with Ford.
Because of bare road, almost nothing can race the Hoonicorn. AWD gives it a huge advantage on unprepped surface. Best chances were the RS8 and Robs RX7. Maybe DIYGang's AWD Hellcat, next year when its done... maybe if someone has a built Trackhawk, but they could put it against a 3000hp Top Fuel car, and it'll spin at the line and lose like everything else RWD
Me too, but I should probably point out that the drag times, just like the drag donk from earlier, really rely on being able to hook REAL HARD off the line, and the unfortunate reality is that on a regular street setup, a RWD vehicle is gonna be outclassed by a sticky AWD setup. Basically the Hoonicorn can put almost twice the torque down total before spinning the tires. Leroy or Ruby would literally just spin off the line, or have to get a real slow start and roll into boost and hope they could overtake down the track.
Lowkey these arent even entertaining anymore, its just too obvious that the hoonicorn is gonna wax almost anything short of an F1 car, please consider this information.

The real question is why they showed the fast cars early and the slow cars now. All these episodes were probably made within a couple days (maybe 2 or 3) and are shown now over the holydays. So why not mix it up a bit or go from slow to fast. Unless they have some fast stuff left to show. Who knows.
But yeah. It's kinda lame that you know the result after reading the title pretty much.
The recent Fords are probably only in the series because of Ken's link with Ford.
Because of bare road, almost nothing can race the Hoonicorn. AWD gives it a huge advantage on unprepped surface. Best chances were the RS8 and Robs RX7. Maybe DIYGang's AWD Hellcat, next year when its done... maybe if someone has a built Trackhawk, but they could put it against a 3000hp Top Fuel car, and it'll spin at the line and lose like everything else RWD

Me too, but I should probably point out that the drag times, just like the drag donk from earlier, really rely on being able to hook REAL HARD off the line, and the unfortunate reality is that on a regular street setup, a RWD vehicle is gonna be outclassed by a sticky AWD setup. Basically the Hoonicorn can put almost twice the torque down total before spinning the tires. Leroy or Ruby would literally just spin off the line, or have to get a real slow start and roll into boost and hope they could overtake down the track.
