Saying as actual Manila is like disregarding and invalidating the other part of Metro Manila. Manila is combination of good, bad and ugly, but it has more personality than any other cities in the Philippines
@@heyamax im from QC, and still refer to it as Manila when speaking to folks who never been to the Philippines. I meant Jared actually went to the city that's named "Manila". Unlike others with click bait saying "is it actually safe in Manila" and content shows they're in BGC or along Ayala.

I don't really understand why that place in Manila is still so dirty, it's such a progressive place but the initiatives are still lacking in cleaning that place up. Seeing that, as what foreigners consider as "authentic" is very mmmm. In comparison to where I live, in the province, the marketplace is not that dirty and chaotic. Although I must admit that you can also see some trash on the streets but it's not that many, just some. I really do hope though that they will really make the entire capital region deserving of the title of being a capital and a representation of the Philippines as well as being a model to other places here in the PH.
Because despite it is highly urbanized the LGU don't have the heart to totally eradicate the urban poor. It's only in Manila that the poorest of the poor has a place to survive. Comparing to Makati, Marikina, Pasig, Quezon City. Actually it this problem should not only be the shoulder of the Manila LGU. The National government should start being pro-active with it's social projects for the urban poor. Not talking about 4Ps or hand-out temporary measures. And throwing these poor family out of the city is not also a solution. I hope the national government stop displacing bonafide Pilipinos just to have a facade of sophistication of these cities. Infrastructure for foreigners should not be the top priority. Let's not follow the footsteps of China, Korea, Japan and now US where the government is so harsh to it's own people.
It's actually dirtier somewhere between 2002-2016. Yes the divisoria is BUSIER and MORE CROWDED back then that even cars can't pass through main roads because of tiangges and popup stands/shops which is standing WITHIN the main roads(Corrupt Mayors and corrupt barangay officials allow these types of business to run btw). Also around those times, purse snatchers and thieves are more active due to over crowding. The later manila city mayor decide to put in the work and helped binondo to clean everything and even unclogged the sewages that causes flood. Though it is true that they were far from "BGC/Makati clean". It is a start. For someone who have family business there for more than a decade, I can say that it is cleaner now compared to previous years.
Thank you Jared, you are awesome dude I like you a lot man you have a really good heart man. You are no more longer Germany you are Filipino you are a Filipino. You are a good man.
