hi jared. there are more and more vloggers exploring the Philippines off the beaten path. Marami silang nadi-discover na non-touristy areas in diff provinces. Like in Palawan, beaches na walang tao. as in zero --pero napakaganda. You may want to tap into those areas if you have the chance to come, and meet locals along the way. Yan ang nagiging trend dito ngayon. Nasa RUclips sila lahat. All the best!

Awesome that you can speak so fluently Jared. I grew up hearing Tagalog all the time but the syntax is a bit harder for me. I feel inspired to keep trying and keep learning. By the way, it would be also awesome if you did shoutout their businesses as well as you mentioned in the 3rd clip. The platform might help them out as a small business :)

I would recommend for both of them to visit during Folklorama. They can visit the Filipino pavilions and Spanish/ Latin American pavilions if they are interested. Actually any and all pavilions, as Folklorama is more fun to explore as much as possible.

If your girl is from colombia, she can easily learn Tagalog. Why? 'Cause most of the words we have are Spanish loan words like: mercado, kalye, kandila, pipino, plato, kutsara, etc.
Ironic how despite you, already speaking to them in fluent Tagalog, they kept talking to you in English.

The problem with other Filipinos or parents, they just teach their kids English and no Tagalog, they look so native and yet they can’t speak Tagalog, that’s awful parenting no matter what other says, in Europe everyone were taught more than 2 languages.
