When I was a teenager I used to use Anacharis a lot, but now as an adult I kinda forgot abt it because it is not pushed as much as other aquarium plants. I wonder if that do to how quickly it grows and propagates that there just isn’t enuff money in it for growers and aquarists. But as I prepare to set up a shrimp breeding tank I’m def getting back to this plant!
Hi, new to planted tanks. I have a higher betta sorority and have just planted the elodea. It really is pretty but I have had to trim back what I planted as it is too tall for my tank (20 g long). Also planted some type of tall grass. Really enjoy your videos 😊
Hi im a beginner. I would like to ask if they can grow in a bowl of two guppy fishes? And if I just plant them in pebbles? Or it has to be in sands / soils? Thank you so muchh
Just picked up some Anacharis yesterday while getting my first set of guppies. 6 males in a 20g high, tank finally cycled. I actually asked for guppy grass and the guy suggested Anacharis or Hornwort so I let him pick and he gave me a clump of Anacharis. I have an Amazon Sword, a Java Fern and some Java Moss. gravel tank with root tabs and easy green. floating the Anacharis for now will see how it goes may plant some pieces in the gravel.
Thanks for the video! I have two questions and hope you can answer. Q1) I bought the plant from aquarium shop and they look like Elodea but the seller didn't know the plant name. Is there any other aquatic plant look like Elodea? Q2) Is the possible that Elodea doesn't grow at all in a tank after planting it for whole week?
It’s the same plant, the proper name is egeria densa, you can Google it and find all the associated names like anacharis, elodea etc. I think it’s fine that you didn’t see any growth the first week, now after six months how is it?
Great video, very informative! Would you mind if I used some clips from this video for videos of mine? I will make sure to provide credit in the description.

From experience you don’t even need to plant it the roots will just grow into the substrate if it’s close enough
Mine keep floating up with a portion missing
I don't have any yet but I definitely would like to get this plant, especially since it's not a difficult to grow plant
Thanks for the video!
