Emma D'arcy on Rhaenyra deciding to be upfront during the aftermath of the fight between the kids: “That place of abandonment (where Rhaenyra felt she was stuck in during the time jump and episode 6) is healed. Rhaenyra is found by Daemon and it allows her to back herself and back her family, and sort of walk straight at the accusations as opposed to trying to shield from them." They are both out from that quiet and backed down state they were in during episode 6, both feel stronger together and like themselves again. Rhaenyra now has a partner who she knows will back her and she's done hiding and trying to "make peace" and Daemon finally feels like he has a purpose. They are not lonely anymore.
Very interesting analysis!! And it makes perfect sense, it definitely does seem that both Daemon and Rhaenyra have found their fight within themselves and it's truly so enjoyable to watch!
Rhaenyra literally said "fire is a prison, the sea offers an scape" when she was talking to Daemon, Laenor was unhappy and they chose to release him, now Laenor can live as he wants with his lover. They faked Laenor's death so they could marry.
Yes yes yes!! When we had a bit more time rewatching it after the edit was complete we caught the real meaning behind what she was saying. Man the writing in this is something else! Absolutely loving it so far 😃
Aemond didn't steal Vhagar, after the rider dies a dragon is free to chose his next rider they are not hereditary, so Leana's family didn't have any special privilege when it comes to Vhagar, everyone can claim her as long as the dragon accepts them, and Vhagar chose Aemond.
You’re absolute right about that! It just felt wrong knowing that the previous rider would want her daughters to become a potential rider of Vhagar. They’re not entitled to it but it definitely left a bit of a bitter taste. I am happy for Aemond though. He’s been wanting a dragon for quite a while and now he has the baddest and biggest dragon in the realm! Thank you for commenting dude 😄
@@OfficialMediaKnights yeah, it was a bit disrespectful, but also the only daughter that doesn't have a dragon is Rhaea, Baela already has one, and there is a pattern in all of Vhagar's riders, the people she chose where all Brave and fearless people, something Rhaea isn't, so even if she tried to claim Vhagar is likely she still wouldn't have succeeded and would have been rejected anyways.
AHAH uhhhh, this may be one of those things we file away under 'it's a show, let's just go along with it' 😂😂😂 what if that guard had family...? Like, someone's bound to ask questions but oh well!
@@OfficialMediaKnights Theyll probably assume the missing guard escaped Driftmark after being paid off by Quarl to let him into the hall to kill Laenor.
Vhagar’s previous rider before laena was Baelon ‘The Brave’. He was Daemon and Viserys’ father. He got his nickname when he slapped Balerion the black dread on the snout, Balerion being much bigger than Vhagar.
As much as I love that Daemon and Rhaenyra got married, their kids have been through some shit in the past 48ish hours and I can totally understand the absolutely disgusted look on Baela and Rhaena’s faces, seeing their dad literally remarry while they’re still in mourning clothes. And the boys think their other dad just died too, was there even a funeral for Laenor yet?! Like they both got introduced to each other as…cousins(?), and *just* met their great-uncle and their…great-cousin(??), who are now their step-dad/step-mom. In 48 hours. And to top it all off, Daemon and Rhaenyra are going to town and I wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to consummate their marriage right then and there, with all the witnesses. I hope the Maester spots the warning signs and evac those kids out asap.
Did you realise that Alicent's daughter Helaena predicts the future? Last episode she was holding that millipede in her hands and was saying, the last ring has no legs, predicting Bran will be the King. At that time Alicent was telling Aemond that you will have a dragon one day and Helaena was saying "he will have to close an eye". Which came true as well. He gained a dragon but lost an eye. In this episode she was holding this spider and saying hand turns loom, spool of green, spool of black, meaning Otto is stirring sh*t leading to the division of blacks and greens. She then said dragons of flesh weaving dragons of thread, which I didn't understand. Maybe someone who interpreted it can tell me. She then snaps that spider in that shell and the camera cuts to Larys.
As I was editing this video I realized that in fact she was foreshadowing a few things! I didn’t catch last episodes because that tied into this one so kinda missed this. But when she was talking about the “spool of green” it became apparent what they were referring to. Absolutely love that she had that ability. Pretty useful😃
dragons of flesh means the blacks and dragons of thread are the greens, as they were woven aka married into the targaryan dynasty, while the blacks were born aka of flesh.
@@OfficialMediaKnights i just found the explanation for that. Dragons of flesh weaving dragons of thread means Targaryens (blacks and greens) are weaving the Targaryen banners for the war.

4:28 Daemon laughs because Vaemond (Brother of Corlys) gives his speech in Valyrian and while he mentions Laena's daughters with Daemon as true Velaryions, he also hints at the illegitimacy of the Children of Rhaenyra (See Rhaenyra's awkward grimace). This causes Daemon to laugh.
I understand Alicents anger. Her sons eye was taken and the king cares more about Rhaenyra’s kids being called bastards. Then he says just be nice to each other, so there would be no punishment. Rhaenyra asking Aemond to be “sharply questioned” meant she wanted him to be tortured. It’s clear Viserys always takes her side despite her being wrong, anyone would be frustrated. Also I love Alicent’s speech “What have I done other than what was expected of me? Forever upholding the kingdom, the family, the law. While you flout all to do as you please. Where is duty? Where is sacrifice? It’s trampled beneath your pretty foot again. And now you take my son’s eye, and to even that you feel entitled” Alicent was forced into marrying the king and has done her best to be a true and moral queen. Yet Rhaenyra does whatever she wants and faces no consequences, it’s not surprising she feels resentful. Also Rhaenyra’s “thank you father” was stroking the fire. The only reason she hasn’t faced the consequences of her actions is because her father is there to save her.
Indeed! Alicent has every right to feel how she feels but she’s trying to take it out on Rhaenyra’s children. She’s been trying to discredit Rhaenyra at every turn. She got Sir Harwin killed and then acted like that’s not what she wanted when deep down she did. And now holds a loaded gun ready to fire whenever she need to. At the end of the day these 2 are just trying to beat each other in a game and they’re both doing horrible things to get the upper hand. It’s not about morals anymore, it’s about winning
@@OfficialMediaKnights I agree with some of that. To both of them it’s about their ego now. I feel like everyone is tryna villainize one of them and make the other look good when both sides are pretty shitty, including the main girls. But I will say, Alicent didn’t want Ser Harwin dead. You can see the disgust in her face. Kinslaying is the lowest of low and as she said to Criston, she values decency. Taking a kids eyes is a shitty thing to do but back then for what he did, that would be a normal punishment, even though I disagree. Also, Rhaenyra did suggest Aemond be tortured first with her “sharply questioned” statement
@Alyssa Ravenheart Yes! She should be. And if it was purely for seeking Justice I’d be all onboard. But I get conflicted when I know part of the reason is underlying hatred towards Rhaenyra and her thirst for power as well! It’s not all one noted and I love the show for that. I truly can’t Root for neither one. Yeah we cheer at moments and cus at characters in the heat of the moment but after careful examination you realize they’re both shitty people man! I love that this show opened the door for conversations like these. Tough morality discussions oofff
@Naseema Veasey you can’t villainize none of them but you can’t put them on a pedastal either! That’s what makes this show so good. Not a single character is a Saint. I guess we’ll need more than just liking a character to really figure out where we stand because it’s way more complex than right or wrong now. Their both right in some aspects and wrong in others. Rhaenyra should’ve been smarter about her kids situation. At the same time she did try it with Laenor and it just didn’t work. Alicent should’ve known better when it comes to Laryss and Rhaenyra should’ve never suggested torture on a boy! These people are messed up man!
@Alyssa Ravenheart Ohh we knew what we were both getting into. The game of thrones community is a passionate one. And because the topics they’re dealing with are a reflexion of our society as well anything you say or agree with in the show is highly flammable. And it shows in the comment section haha I want Rhaenyra to do something so horrible and wrong that there’s no way to justify it. And I want an episode from the greens perspective. All of it is perspective and I think the show runners have to balance the scales a bit for the general public to feel more conflicted as they should. I can understand how a lot of you are burnt out from the hypocrisy in the Rhaenyra vs Alicent conversation. Again we wanna make it clear just because we sided black doesn’t mean we agree with everything. Mostly siding because we root for the underdogs and right now those poor boys have become a target purely because of their own nature which is in no way their fault. And of course because Daemon is badass. But we love some of the Greens too! Otto is freaking fantastic, Aemond is a badass and that little girl can predict the future! Honestly this is like a super bowl finals and none of the teams are my home team I’m purely a spectator haha
Honestly, We cannot blame on Aemond in the fighting, he was innocent. The girls started to fight, they are responsible for this. When the first girl came to hit Aemond,he just pushed her, he did not hit her. Then second girl came to hit him. He vas 1 v 4 and there is no such thing stealing a dragon (I mean u cannot steal a dragon, they choose their riders). Also, I wonder if u realize that what Alicent demands is the same thing with what Daemon did in the first episode, he cut the hands of the thieves, penis of rapers etc (eye for an eye). What would we do when our child lost an eye? Could we react reasonably? Probably not, I understand what Alicent goes through. Also, she realized that she was wrong by attacking princess, she was ashamed until her father supoorted her. Finally, Daemon and Rhaenyra killed someone innocent in this episode to fake Laenors death, daemon also killed his innocent wife too. No one in this show is innocent, everybody do bad things and they will keep doing it. I said this bc I dont like the fanatism towards to the Blacks. The greens also have a lot of fair point tho. They are not evil or heartless monsters, they have their own agenda. (Except larys, he is evil). Ty for reaction❤ love u guys so much
Thank you dude! We love ya right back and especially because of how you pointed out your argument. With respect! Absolutely agree with you, we’re not watching this from a who’s right or wrong perspective honestly. We like Daemon, we like Rhaenyra, we like Otto, we like Aemond! Just because we find Alicent mildly annoying doesn’t mean we are blinded to the evil things that team black has done. We normalize it because it’s game of thrones and it’s part of the fiction and history of these characters. If we start thinking about every inmoral thing characters have done we wouldn’t see the end of it! Joel from the last of us and how he’s regarded as a hero, Darth Vader and how people think he’s awesome after he slaughtered kids. Tony Stark after he sold weapons of mass destruction, created a killer robot that almost took over the planet, dropped a city from the sky and signed the Sokovia accords due to his own biases. How we rooted for Clegane even though he did some bad shit too in GoT, Walter White, Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker etc every single character out there at some point does something bad and something good if it’s good writing haha 😃 thanks for commenting bud
I mean getting ground and pounded 1 v4 and getting sanded in the eye and then knifing an eye out constitutes abuse does it not ? Also how was it Aemonds fault? He DIDN’T start the fight, He was attacked 1 v 4 and he lost an eye for telling the truth about Rhaenyras kids. I agree Aemond could have handled it better. But also I can see him being pumped on adrenaline after bonding and riding his the biggest dragon and then being suddenly confronted and accused of stealing the dragon and then being nasty. My point is his response was proportionate. Rhaena being unhappy and pissed I understand should she turn the fight physical ? Probably not should the others intervene definitely not. Aemond wasn’t going to chase them down he was saying don’t do that again or the consequences will be dire. That being said from Aemonds pov it’s these bastards who aren’t trueborn that have been bullying him and also he lost an eye for speaking the truth. Is Aemond the pure image of goodness definitely not. He doesn’t pretend he is good and he doesn’t need to be either. I think a lot of people expect him to be passive in some misguided sense of honour both when bonding his dragon and then the subsequent fight. I fundamentally disagree with the notion that he STOLE a dragon. Was he a dick about it? Absolutely, but losing an eye over being a dick is absolutely disproportionate and people saying he deserved it Idk how you justify your position. Furthermore Viserys should have found his balls and doled out a reasonable punishment to Jace. Was Alicent demanding an eye for the lost one warranted or justified absolutely not. That would be cruel. But I understand Alicents response, from her pov her kid lost an eye because he spoke the truth, so she sees Rhaenyra as doubly at fault. Firstly she could have chosen not to have Ser Harwens children and secondly Rhaenyra’s entitlement in calling her bastards as legitimates and acting as if they should inherit the iron throne when they really don’t have 1/2 of the qualifications. I am not saying Rhaenyra should proclaim them illegitimate but she had the choice not to have these kids she chose to do so consequences be damned. What Aliscent sees is if she took the risk and did whatever/whoever she pleased then she should suffer the consequences hence the line where is the duty where is sacrifice, despite all aspects of your adult life being a lie you still feel entitled for punitive punishment when someone calls out your actions.
You know I gotta say I truly appreciate how you expressed yourself in this comment. With respect, understanding the nuance and giving a balanced view that even we are learning to have while watching this. I agree with all of your points actually. After consideration in certain moments like “dude he stole a dragon” it’s clear that there is no such thing. He claimed it, he earned it. Most if not all of these characters are morally grey so it’s a back and forth of wrongdoings on both side. Again thank you! We appreciate the comment 😃
Sorry, the greens have 3 dragons at the moment, you had said 0. So all 3 of Alicent's kids have dragons now. Aegon has a pale gold dragon named Sunfyre, Helaena has one too but not named yet. When the boat leaves at the end with Alicent, you see 3 dragons fly above.
No need to apologize! True! I didn’t consider the fact that of course her kids belong to the Hightowers as well 🤦🏽♂️ but still I think having Vhagar on your side is a pretty big lead😃
@@OfficialMediaKnights vhagar is an asset but still not the greatest asset of the war since while being the largest also means she is the oldest and slowest dragon. the greatest asset of the war was a man and the blacks got that man this episode.
Rhynera keeps blatantly lying throughout the episode and literally no one points that out? Her sons are bastards, she knows that and uses her fathers love to her advantage. If I was Alicent I'd never have trusted her with my kids lives either. Not to mention she is completely okay with killing a random guard and making Rhaenys mourn for her last son on her daughters funeral so that she can remarry? That is .... vile
What would you have Rhaenyra do though! She can’t come out and say yes realm! My kids are bastards! Let’s all go to the square on a Sunday stroll for a public beheading! So of course we understand that she’s lying because it comes from survival. She’s trying to stay alive haha on the other arguments though yeah you’re right she’s a shitty person just like everyone else in this show haha 😂
@@OfficialMediaKnights Yes. You are right. Which is why she should've thought about sireing bastards when she knew that she is the heir and the legitimacy of her son's succession will be put to question. A queen should know better. I wonder if annulment was allowed at this time (Like Rhaegar did with Lyanna).
While she is a shitty character and needs to own up to her mistakes, she can’t just just go around and claim yes I’ve bastard kids so come and behead them while I go on tyrant mode and totally ahead with Alicent’s claims of killing her kids.
@@OfficialMediaKnightsI would have expected Rhaenyra not to sire bastards. Or at the very least make sure to have your first child be the true born son of Laenor. With our modern sensibilities obviously we find ourselves not putting as much weight in these things, but having bastard children is a big no no for them especially for a female heir to the throne whose claim was already pretty tenuous. She really should have known better, and alicent’s line saying that Rhaenyra believes she can do what she pleases is honestly spot on. She is blatantly lying because she knows the king will defend her and is fine with people losing their tongues or heads (vaemond) for speaking the truth, which would frustrate the hell out of me too.
@@steelnation5110 I mean they do say in the show that they did attempt to have biological children with each other but it just wasn't working out for some vague reason weather would be her issue are his issue... They weren't able to conceive. Which sucks for them bc yeah I agree at the very least their firstborn should have been biologically theirs. But it didn't work out and he isn't.
I had several thoughts regarding this episode, questions the episode asked and answered: Comparisons: - Viserys love to Aemma and his relationship with Alicent - Who is the core family to Viserys/Rhaenyra/Daemon - Daemon getting 2 different kinds of homes offered: Viserys/Rhaenyra - Dragon bonds: Daemon/Rhaenyra & Aemond/Vhagar - Strong dragons to weak dragons - Each side claiming their biggest asset for the upcoming war: Daemon & Vhagar - Westerosi marriage ceremony to Targaryen one Bonding / Misunderstood incest Targaryens have the unique ability to bond with dragons. I always imagine it as being adopted by a pet. Any of you who have pets and especially who have/had a special pet know what it feels like when a pet walks up to you and tells you that you are his person for life. And they are always right. You know the deep love/bond you share for life how no one can replace him/her. That is the bond between Targeryans and dragons. Another important but often overlooked aspect of that is that Targaryens are said to be part dragon/related to dragons themselves. Without spoilering anything specific from the books there are instances when Targaryens give birth to malformed children with charateristics of dragons like scales or tails or whatever. That means Targaryens are human and dragon in one. Sometimes their dragon parts bond together like we have seen with them bonding with actual dragons for life. It is always for life. We all know that Targaryens are known for marrying close family members. I believe that happens less to keep their blood pure and is more an expression of the bond the dragon parts of the Targaryens form with dragon parts of another Targaryen. If a marriage is due to dragon bonding between themselves then it is a life long happy relationship full of love. It is unbreakable. It is undenielable. Remember that Aemma and Viserys were related to each other. No one compares to that bond. You see the difference in Visery´s relationship with Aemma and his ongoing deep love for her to his marriage to Alicent. I believe that there is a dragon bond between Daemon and Rhaenyra too. Of course there are also calculated marriages between Targaryens which are not based on a bond like Aegon and Haelena. Daemon´s and Rhaenyra´s bond The show has established the deep bond between riders and their dragons, how instantly that bond forms, how strong it is. Remember Drogon and Daenarys, Vhagar anguish in being asked to kill Laena or Caraxes physically feeling Daemon´s pain when he was shot with an arrow. TV sins asked if Drogon was remote controlled by Dany because he always showed up at the right time. The same is true with Caraxes who appeared at the meeting on the bridge at the perfect time to put Otto in his place. The bond between Targaryens and in this specific case between Daemon and Rhaenyra is the same. Both of them were aware of the bond between them from the start but since she was a child and he an adult they couldn´t do anything about it. As she finally reached an age where she was seen as a woman grown they finally could explore it for a moment but Daemon chose to walk away since she was still a child in his eyes. Imagine the strength it required of him to deny them both and walk away. Both he and Rhaenyra tried to live their life as well as they could apart from each other. They burried the bond in themselves but no matter how hard they tried they couldn´t estinguish it. Daemon was restless, emerging himself in the history of dragon riders and their dragons (a proxy for their bond). He couldn´t sleep. Being apart cost them both dearly. It is like trying to stop the water flow from a tap with your hands. You will never be strong enough from preventing the water from bursting through. When Daemon and Rhaenyra finally meet being both adults there is no stopping it. Rhaenyra can´t keep her eyes from Daemon and he is aware of her, always. I loved how he chuckled to draw away the attention from her children being bastards after Vaemond included the unveiled jab at them in Laena´s memorial service. I particularly loved the way their lovemaking was depicted. The way they reverently touched each other. In awe of the other and the bond they shared. Each touch was slow like they wanted to remember it forever. The consumation of their love and bond was sacred to each other. Who do characters feel is their immediate/core family? Who are the most important people in their lifes to them? a) Viserys Aemma - The previous episode showed us Viserys spending his time looking at Aemma´s ring, missing her. In this episode Viserys calls Alicent "Aemma" when he prepares to go to bed. It seems Aemma is always in Viserys thoughts. She is the one woman he truly loves, even so many years after her death. (Comparison: Even immediately after he calls Alicent Aemma you see how differently he feels towards her when the kingsguard asks him if he should stay with the queen and Viserys declines.) Rhaenyra - She is the child he has with Aemma and he loves her more than any other of his children. It is something Alicent also expresses in this episode in the form that Aemond is his child. But Viserys treats him differently to Rhaenyra. He might see Rhaenyra as an extension of Aemma who he tries to do right by. He also might see her as someone Aemma´s and his love to each other created and for that Rhaenyra is closer to his heart than his other children. Despite him being such a weak person he stands up for her and protects her. (Comparison - Being a good Dad is not easy for Viserys like we have seen with Rhaenyra in the past when he only speaks to her about her Mom´s death 6 months after it happened. But he has shown her more love, compassion and support than to Aegon, Haelena or Aemond. He expressed repeatedly throughout the previous episodes that he wants her to be happy. We haven´t seen him spend any time talking with his other children.) Daemon - Viserys loves his brother and cherishes them growing up together. Yes, he is very different from him but we have seen with Rhaenyra, who is like Daemon, that Viserys is able to love someone with a simmilar charakter. I think the only difference between them is that Otto intentionally targeted his relationship with Daemon and managed to erode and damage it over time. b) Rhaenyra Daemon - He is her bonded person. He is her home. He is the person who truly sees her and loves her with all his heart. Viserys - Despite him being so different in temperament from her she loves him and she also feels his love for her. Her children c) Daemon Rhaenyra - See above Viserys - He loves his brother despite Viserys being so weak. Unfortunately their relationship was manipulated by Otto and Viserys failed to recognize it and allowed it to continue. Daemon never got to experience the unbreakable/unmanipulatable support from Viserys that Rhaenyra got :( Despite their love for each other and their wish to reconcile their relationship is the way Viserys allowed Otto to manipulate it to. His children - Episode 6 alluded to Daemon treating his 2 girls differently. He teaches Baella High Valyrian but spends less time with Rhaena. I think that is because the dragon parts are strong in Baella and weaker in Rhaena. It doesn´t have to do with Baella having a dragon born to her and Rhaena´s not hatching. He just recognizes/feels the dragon strength in Baella. (She is the one who punched Aemong in the face) Dragons & dragons There are dragons and there are dragons in the Targaryen bloodline. There are Targaryens with strong dragon parts like Daemon and Rhaenyra, Baella, Aemond, Daenarys and Jon Snow and Targaryens who are weak dragons like Viserys, Rhaena, Aegon, Haelena, Viserys ( Dany´s brother). Being a strong dragon doesn´t necessarily mean that you are a good and just person just that the dragon part is strong in them. It also doesn´t mean that strong dragons are destined to become mad. They might or they may not. Coming Home / I need ... nothing Daemon came home to Westeros. - First physically. - Then Viserys tried to make up with him and offered him a home in Kings Landing, at his court. He tried to give him what Daemon expressed to want in episode 1. That turned out the same way as Viserys sending troops to help win the battle against the Crab Feeder. Too little too late. Viserys didn´t listen to Corlys asking him to put an end to the Crab Feeder who threatened the supply lines to Westores. Instead he waited 3 years during which a lot of people died unnecessarily until he finally decided to help with the problem. Too little too late. The same is true with his relationship with Daemon. Daemon told him all the relevant information regarding Otto´s manipulations at the end of episode one and Viserys instead of listening to him banished him. It took Daemon´s return and him laying a trap for Otto to finally succeed in getting rid of Otto with Rhaenyra´s help. Now we are 10 years later and Otto is back, Viserys still not having learned the lesson. What was Viserys really offering Daemon? The absolutely same as when the show started but with hardend lines. Otto again being the hand and using all his waking moments to undermine Daemon. Nothing has changed. Too little too late.
holy shit this is amazing! could you please do this for every episode? like I read so many comments that make no sense because they don‘t get the real message behind the conversation of a scene but I truly understand your point of views! thanks for that 😊
Great review! I also saw the parallel between gaining Vhagar by Aemond and Daemon by Rhaenyra. Besides, both scenes were set one after another. Also they both were “stolen” from Laena.
@@АннаК-п4к Thank you so much. I agree and disagree with Daemon being "stolen" from Laena. On the surface Daemon "belonged" to Laena because they were married. Through the Tragaryen viewpoint not so much. Daemon was already bonded to Rhaenyra way before Laena appeared on the scene. She even expressed it herself in episode 6. It still is a good on the surface parallel.
@@legolasokatti4281 Thank you so much! If you would enjoy it I can write one for each episode. I just posted something similar in the comments to episode 4 if you want to check it out.
22:01- Lied about a situation that made Alicent side with her resulting in her father being stripped of his position as Hand, pressured Ser Criston into a sexual relationship that could result in him being gelded or executed, made three children out of wedlock and placed them in the line of succession when illegitimate people cannot hold property or title, shifts blame on Aemond, suggesting he be tortured (that's what "strongly questioned" means) after her sons and step daughters jump and maim him. Rhaenyra also laments how she's in a marriage with someone who doesn't desire her. Well why is she in that marriage? Because her father arranged a courtship tour where every eligible bachelor on the continent came to shoot their shot, but she bailed on it. Then at the end of this episode Laenor is set free to live his life as he wants. That's awesome....but Daemon on Rhaenyra's order murdered Corlys' page and then homie was pitched into the fire to be burned unrecognizable. What kinda life did that guy want? Nobody cares because Laenor now gets to live out of the closet with Qarl and Rhaenyra and Daemon get to be together. Rhaenyra is kind of a spoiled, selfish, arsehole if we're keeping it a stack.
And She only becomes worse, according to the book. I really hope they dont change the book too much just to make rhaenyra seem so pure in the show. the beauty of it is that both sides are equally fucked up
@Ioana Valentina I agree with you, I want to feel conflicted on both sides and for the most part the show has been doing a good job but I still feel like there’s a preference towards Rhaenyra in the script writing area. Maybe it’s all building up for them to do a 180 twist and show us Rhaenyra do something atrocious.
@@OfficialMediaKnights That’s what’s confusing to me about the Rhaenyra Stans. (Not talking about you guys) Rhaenyra has been doing atrocious stuff already. Two examples….The Courtship Tour - Rhaenyra dipping on this pisses off Viserys and Alicent is also a bit peeved. But you gotta ask “why?” According to the books it takes roughly 3.5 months to travel from Kings Landing to Winterfell. Imagine being a high value man of Westeros or a high value man’s parents, making a journey like that, only to arrive and be told the princess left. Or like some of those poor bastards, being there and she leaves. That’s a slight to a bunch of the great houses of the continent. Then there’s her Bastard Factory with Harwin - Rhaenyra was quick to say this episode that accusing her of having bastards is an act of treason. But you know what else is treason? Actually giving birth to bastards and putting them in the line of succession. This is a HUGE middle finger to the realm. Subjects usually don’t like it when those enforcing the rules don’t follow them. That’s why Viserys is so hard pressed for everyone to stfu about it.
@@iValentinaaaaa I’ve read Fire and Blood and I hope so too. It’s interesting to me how much I’ve liked the Greens so far. So far they really haven’t entered the gray character area for me, except maybe Otto, but that’s a strong maybe. Otto love him or hate simply pushed for his daughter to get chummy with the most eligible bachelor in Westeros so her future would be secure. Alicent has been more Lady Ned Stark to me than anything. Ser Criston was finessed out of his celibacy and dissed. Aegon is a generic, horny teen and Aemond claimed a dragon fair and square then got jumped and maimed for it. We’ll see how things go moving forward though.
I just rewatched the episode again and it suddenly struck me how vulnerable Daemon appears to be in his body and facial language during his interactions with Rhaenyra when the subject is them ("You abandoned me" ... + intimicy + marriage proposal). Rhaenyra telling him that she wants him seemed so emotionally important to him. It feels like no one ever told him that they want him, love him. At least no one he needed it from. "What’s weird about Daemon, I’ve found, and I don’t know if I projected this onto him but, for someone who on the page looks sort of disloyal and irreverent and all these things, actually there’s a real sense of value and loyalty about him. And there’s a sort of weird sensitivity to him. " He says he wanted to make Daemon delicate, fragile. "Daemon is quiet a fragile creature." He also says that Daemon only wants recognition, that he just wants to stand next to someone. I truly enjoyed listening to Matt´s insight into Daemon. He managed to put into words what I at least felt was always unspoken at the heart of Daemon´s character and which I could only feel but not truly express in words. I thought you might enjoy it too.
@@OfficialMediaKnights pretty sure he has leprosy, which doesn’t affect the brain, so I think was just thinking of his first wife. Which makes sense considering they’re at a funeral.
That whole fight sequence had us at the edge of our seats thinking one of these kids was gonna bite the dust! At the end of the day they’re just children and none of them deserve that fate. At least not yet. So yeah man definitely a tense moment 😬
Alicent over-reacted by a huge margin; but I can definitely understand the buildup of years of disappointment and frustration while her former friend Rhaenyra gets to lead a charmed and carefree life doing everything she wants: Alicent's dad pushes her into the role of confidant/potential seductress of a grieving freshly widowed king who is also her best friend's father; and that king forbids her to tell her best friend that she has taken on that role. Then the king announces that he has chosen to marry her - it's obvious from Alicent's bitten nails that King Viserys is not the stuff of Alicent's dreams; but her father intends her to be queen and, more significantly, the king has publicly designated Alicent as his bride; she cannot refuse, it would destroy her father and ruin her and humiliate the king. After her marriage, Alicent dutifully endures sexual relations with a man old enough to be her father, and gives him three healthy sons and a daughter. She tries to mend her friendship with the king's daughter, who now despises her, but the princess keeps her distance, then lies to her. The princess also takes a handsome young Kingsguard as a lover, gets to have a choice of many lords of the realm as potential husbands, and, eventually, apparently unsatisfied with the attractive young knight (son of the richest House in the realm) she marries), she takes a lover to father her three sons. Meanwhile, Alicent has to be satisfied with a kind but aging and increasingly ill husband who does not love her, pays little attention to their children, and must be the model of respectability and honor while spoiled Rhaenyra gets to have everything she wants, including her father's favor. Most important, Alicent is being emotionally battered by her father's conviction that Rhaenyra intends to kill Alicent's sons after Viserys dies. So, this is the background for some 15 years or so when the battered kids come in from the fight - it's obvious that Daemon's two girls and Rhaenyra's three boys fought Alicent's boy Aemond and that two of Rhaenyra's boys had facial injuries (Lucerys had a broken nose, I think) and of course, Aemond had a terrible injury to his eye, which is what Alicent would notice first and most of all. All six children were screaming out explanations; a coherent narrative was hard to piece together. Alicent believed that her son was attacked; and, in truth, Aemond did have his eye taken out by Lucerys' assault with a dagger (which was in response to Aemond's attack on Lucerys' little brother, but Alicent either didn't know about that or didn't care, given the number of other children going after Aemond). What I think triggered Alicent more than the fact of Aemond's injury was Viserys' response: Aemond was Viserys' son as much as Rhaenyra was his daughter. Yet Viserys voices no concern for Aemond's pain or suffering; offers no kindness to his own injured child, just demands where he heard about the allegation of the bastardy of Rhaenyra's sons. Rhaenyra also demands that Aemond be "sharply questioned" to find out where he heard that her sons were bastards: "sharply questioned" is a euphemism for 'torture' - Viserys does not protest Rhaenyra's demand that his injured 10-year-old son be tortured for repeating what much of the court knows to be the truth. No one had even suggested that Lucerys apologize to Aemond for destroying his eye; since Lucerys could have struck Aemond's knee or thrown more sand in his face and pulled Joffrey away from his line of sight and run the heck away, taking the others with him. I think all this was whirling around in Alicent's mind when Viserys said they were a family and should pledge goodwill and pretty much forget about the incident. I think her self-control snapped and all that turmoil just broke out of Alicent's normally calm, studied, religiously appropriate facade. Viserys is a pretty poor excuse for a father; and Alicent isn't such a great mother but at least Aemond knows she loves and cares about him. I do not excuse Alicent for running after Rhaenyra with a dagger; she acted like Lucerys, only with much less provocation, and without the excuse of being a child trying to protect a threatened younger sibling. I can just kind of see what might have motivated her to throw off the mantle of calm & contained saintly Queen Alicent and go wild with frustration and jealousy of Rhaenyra, aiming a dagger at Rhaenyra herself and actually stabbing her.
A child is just maimed and literally nothing is done about it. The father couldn't give less of a shit about it. I'd say it wasn't an over-reaction at all. And let's not forget that Rhaenyra said for Aemond to be tortured to find out where he heard that the kids were bastards from. "Sharply question" in GoT means torture.
Thats a slanted way of looking at it, from an audience perspective. Taking it for the actions instead of the result, it wasn't abuse. It was a fight that he welcomed with his actions and his mouth. I can see Alicent calling it abuse, given the information she had (or lack thereof) as well as her own bias. But putting a claim on someone's mother's dragon the night of her funeral was NEVER going to be tits & sprinkles. The blade never came into play until Aemond made his intent to KILL Jace known. Even taking it for the result, Aemond said himself: He traded his eye for Vhagar.
Viserys called Alicent "Aemma" and you didn't even noticed that. And daemon was laughing in the funeral not because he was nervous, but because of what the guy was claiming about Rhaenyras children.
AHAHAHAHAH honestly that was us dude, I was trying to root for this girl and HOW CAN I DO THAT IF SHE MURDERED LAENOR?! But she didn't, so I can still support my girl Rhaenyra 😂😂😂
I was thinking same thing 😂 like I love Rhaenyra and Daemon as power couple and I know the things they’ll do in future but I wasn’t ready for Laenor of all people.
The rules of dragon claiming in Westeros are as follows: Anyone of Targaryen blood can attempt to claim a riderless dragon. There’s also no precedent for a rider’s children to have the first attempt at said dragon; it’s first come, first serve. However, that’s only half of the process, as the dragon also has to accept you as its Rider. If it rejects you, it’ll either permanently ignore you, or it will try to attack you. You know it’s accepted you when you’re able to make physical contact and climb into the saddle.
I'm curious to see if the tension rises further between Lord Corlys and Rhaenys now that Laenor is presumed dead. She wants succession to be through Laena's bloodline but Corlys has made it clear what history remembers.
Right, there was that whole moment and the tension, it seems, has been brewing for years! Corlys does not seem to let it go - so it'll be devastating to watch what the death of both of their children will do to their relationship.
You guys kind of skipped over it, but did you notice that as the King was leaving the get together on the landing, when he told the Queen he was going to bed, he called her Aemma, not Alicent.
Daaaamn, actually we didn't catch it in our first watch, but we caught it during the editing process and holy shit... Freudian slip if I've ever seen one!
Criston did say he was "sworn as her(Alicent) protector" meaning he was not going to take the kids eye. I still believe Jace might be Ser Criston. I know the book says they were all Ser Harwins, but just think about the implication because they added the sex scene between Rhea and Cole for a reason.
Daaamn, that's true!! Yeah, even Crispin had that line he refused to cross, which speaks volumes of the situation. I'm not sure how Crispin and Rhaenyra's encounter would line up timeline-wise but if it does work, it'd definitely be an interesting angle!
I just saw some remarks from Emma D´Arcy who plays adult Rhaenyra who said that Rhaenyra felt abandoned by everyone, her having an abadonment wound. It started with her mother dieing, then Alicent and her father betraying her and finally Daemon leaving her too at her wedding. Laenor did nothing to be truly there for her either. That explains so well why Rhaenyra was so passive in her actions regarding Alicent and the gossip about her children during the years while Daemon was away. There is a marked contrast between episode 6 during which even in the privacy of her living room with only Laenor present she only used the word "insinuations" regarding their children and episode 7 during which she was brave enough to actively use the sentence "The legitimacy of my sons' birth was put loudly to question" as a weapon against Alicent. D´Arcy said that the reason is that her abandonment trauma was healed during her previous interactions with Daemon. That healing made her strong enough to be proactive and instead of fleeing the storm to face it with all her might and turn the situation to her advantage.
Interesting that she the abandonment that she was feeling made her feel powerless and not want to defend herself from the comments. I’m glad she now has Daemon to Aid her in speaking as plainly as she need to!
Which is exactly why she’s so eager to marry Daemon. She feels she lost her friend (Alicent), family (Viserys), Lovers (Criston and then mostly Ser Harmin her actual lover) and Ally (Laenor) but Daemon is all of this in one combination. He has always been kinda her friend being playful and letting her be herself with him, her literal family, her lover and her ally both on moral and political level. Marrying him the best assets she can claim.
Btw, Rhaenyra expects that 7 kingdoms will obey when she gets the throne. She believes it bc thats what king said(unlike the westeros culture)and all the other houses accepted it. Kings decision more valuable than tradition in Westeros. However, sleeping with someone that u r not married with and making illegitimate children both as a woman and heir causes serious problems in westeros. The punishment for Rhaenyra should be killing her children, also she may be killed too, or she is exiled in terms of Westeros Traditon. (Like her aunt living in Essos in the books, show did not include her). Rhaenyra broke the rules, proud lords and ladies of westeros did not like this. This is a terrible political mistake for someone who wants to get the throne. Thats the point of Alicent: Rhaenyra does whatever she wants, breaks the rules without any punishment and now she expects everyone to obey her. Alicent is a really deep character than the villain people want see her as. She is not a villain, she is as gray as almost everyone in this show. U may not like her attitude but she got a point on what she said. Also she is manipulated by her own father, Otto is responsible for what she became too. Her anxiety disorder turned into paranoia in years tho, we can clearly see that
Absolutely agree, she has a point it’s just that we do not like how she goes about it. Funny enough I loved the green dress power move and thought that was badass or how Otto’s intellect is si spot on when it comes to playing the game. I wish the show did a better job at making it feel like she’s a grey character. I’d love to spend more time with Alicent being in more of a position of power to really get to know her instead of this desperate for the throne approach. It seems everything that gets in her way that has anything to do with Rhaenyra she despises, I’d love to see Alicent become more of an intellectual power house like her father that’s all! There’s smarter ways to go about it than what’s she’s been doing thus far. Or more active approaches too, it feels like she’s hiding behind the self righteousness and having others do her biding for her. At the same time I absolutely understand Rhaenyra is no saint at all. She is wrong for what she did. And she is wrong in trying to pass the kids as legitimate. But Rhaenyra as a mother can justify this. She doesn’t wanna get killed or get her kids killed only for existing. It’s a complex issue really
@@OfficialMediaKnights exactly, I am so glad that u both able to see the deepest motivation behind each character. U r one of my fav reaction channels ♥️ Ty so much
Exactly right. Too bad people usually sees Alicent as a bland character when majority of time she’s right. Her points does stands out and her anxiety turns worst into paranoia.
It showed the candles outside then Daemon breaking a man's neck RIGHT before the sword fight. That was the face burned to pass as Laenor. Add in his shaved hair and that was enough to convince his mother it was him. 👗👗👠👠💓💓
Yesss!! We actually thought of that in the editing process, it was a disturbing but smart choice on their end! Poor mother though, it broke our hearts to see her in such anguish
Tell me if you agree with me. Rhaenyra is giving Cersie + Tyrion Lannister vibes. She is being Cersie as she will do anything for the throne and sleeping around with everyone and what not. Now by marrying her own "uncle" and potentially both sea snakes kids are dead Hightower family is only threat now. Thats a lanister move. don't you think?
Exactly! Cersie when it comes to all the wrong decisions too! But Tyrion in the way she’s learning to play the game. Hopefully more smart in the future. All I ask from the next episodes is that they give us something to really make it hard to completely root for Rhaenyra and something to root for Alicent just to balance the scales a bit 😃
By the way new subscriber 🥰 I found you guys with this show and you have the same expressions as I do throughout the show. I love your wakanda forever reactions as well 🔥🔥👍
@@OfficialMediaKnights 🙏🙏 keep up the excellent content you lift a lot of spirits. We're under yellow level storm watch and I'm enjoying the content it's keeping me company 🙂
Watching yall hate on Alicent for being upset and frustrated with Raenyra getting her way once again and hating on Aemond for defending himself in a 1v4 is hilarious. The bias towards Raenyra and her group is obvious when you've been calling Alicent a bitch for most of the episode, even when she's right about something and calling out lies or hypocrisy. I understand the characters are morally grey but the commentary if definitely one-sided.
Thank you so much man! We appreciate you always showing up😃 yeah man those dark shots were waaay to dark but at least the episode was probably the best one so far 😁
Yes!! Though Daemon is a morally grey character, he is indeed fiercely loyal to those he loves and the show's done a fantastic job showing that throughout the season!
In the books Daemon is the one who order's Qarl to kill Laenor so he can marry Rhynera. (according to highsepton Eustace who has narrated the biggest part of Dotd). I like this ending as well but this just makes the blacks look more righteous than the greens. While is the books they are just as bad.
I’m basically team Daemon at this point😂 in all honesty I love all of these characters. Apart from Larys and even he is laughably evil😭. I really like Rhaenyra although her stans do go a little over the top which has made me sympathise with Alicent a little. I like yourselves like to try and see it from peoples perspectives and on rewatching this rightly or wrongly that whole questioning scene is them all basically gaslighting Alicent, you can see with each comment she is quickly basically having a breakdown😂😂😂 the ‘Thank you father’ after being threatened for speaking the truth (rightly or wrongly) was the moment she just snapped. I even think she regrets it completely until Otto has now just helped remove that guilt and create her final form. I do however think objectively before this episode Alicent hasn’t done a lot wrong but the one thing she has done is poison her sons the same way her father poisoned her which is not good at all. Aegon has been nothing but comic relief for me so far, I can’t hate him up until this point at all, he bullies Aemond (it’s hard to know the extent with limited footage) but all of the kids do even Rhaenyras. To me this episode was all about Aemond, what a brave kid. Bullied and had the guts to claim the biggest dragon in the land. I felt for everyone in that fight scene like you have said In the comments. I hated how so many reactors legit wanted Aemond to basically get killed, like he may become a villian (potentially) but he was mostly an asshole with his words if anything here but most of that was using Rhaenyras kids previous insults back against them. For the actual fight, I can see it from all of their perspective. He only grabs the rock when it’s 4v1. He deserved the punch for how insensitive he was maybe but as kids the punch back is maybe fair enough and it should have ended there, but I get why Rhaenyras kids jumped in as they believed they was helping. I also get why he grabbed a rock and didn’t use it until the knife was pulled, he even clearly stopped himself. Then when he was getting attacked by 4 of them constantly even after fighting them off. At that point he’s snapped and fights with insults instead, I get why Jacerys was pissed off, but the knife was too far but again I see from his perspective it’s all gone too far and he feels Aemond is about to kill his brother. And while all this is happening, their parents are either fucking without a care in the world (Rhaenyra, Daemon and Leanor) or have planted seeds and poisoned their kids minds already like Alicent has😂
Exactly! In an ideal situation these kids shouldn’t have been out and about in the first place! But kids will be kids. They lack the patience to not burst out in anger and they lack the intelligence to make always the right move. Even though we’re liking Team Black better. Honestly mostly because of Daemon as well….we did enjoy Aemond getting his dragon and rooted for him. We do understand Alicent but this is not the way of getting things done. Getting Harwin killed was a big nono. I was with her up until that point. Now she’ll have to make smarter moves for me to truly appreciate how smart she’s being. I love Otto as well. He’s a man of calculated efforts that clearly always has some kind of domino effect. Yet people are always hunged up on the fact that we absolutely hate the greens and absolutely love Rhaenyra 😂 we may be Team Black but make no mistake, we know nobody is innocent here! Thank you for your comment dude! I love being able to have an actual conversation on the shows nuances
Glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. I’m honestly not on either team (although if I do, I think I’d prefer Black) but I understand all characters and where are they coming from. I like Rhaenyra but sometimes her stans are too much in trying to make her wrong choices make sense and not owning up to them and using UNO reverse card to get out these ‘vile’ accusations while completely villainizing Alicent when many of her points does stands. Aemond getting cocky after claiming Vhagar is big example of that. Her kids are actually good and have the potential to beneficial to the realm if not for her poisoning their mind with hatred. If only she cut herself off from her father, the generational trauma is so much evident in her upbringing when there really wasn’t even need of it since Aegon never wanted to claim the throne and Rhaenyra didn’t want to be rivals. All Aegon had to do was pledge his allegiance for her and everything would go smoothly, perhaps Rhaenyra herself might’ve thought that her brother deserves a chance at claim after her. Poor kid knows his responsibilities like the way he tries to make sense into Aegon as to why the marriage with Haelena is beneficial, knowing well not to get his mother involved in ‘bastard’ situation cause it’s wrong both politically and ethically cause it’s create rifts within family, he trains well and endured the bullying until the taste of power got to him and he snaps at wrong people (Baela and Rhaena really had nothing to do with his bullying). We saw him turn from victim of bully to a bully himself in that moment which is heartbreaking as we can see how much potentials he has to be a great leader but it’ll be wasted on baseless violence against family. Regards the 1vs4 fight, his only fault was directing things at Rhaena and Baela so the punch was evident but things could’ve ended there but they all had to attack them. Rest of the fight was unfair on his behalf especially with Jace using blade. Again they’re all kids so we understand where they all were coming from but again the adults were just out of sights in their own games while letting these kids deal with violence that they themselves taught them.
@Kyle Gardner Wow! That is a huge compliment dude. Thank you so much for the love and support. We couldn’t do this without you guys being so awesome and encouraging. Thank you for taking the time to share some love 😃😄
Lines drawn The lines between the different sides got drawn in this episode. The showrunners made the decision to include two frames, one for each side, to show who is on which side: Alicent, Sir Crispin (sorry, can´t stop myself), Aemond Rhaenyra, Daemon, Jhaecerys, Lucerys, Corlys Prophecy It is worth to truly listen to each word Haelena is saying. Claiming a "dragon" aka claiming the biggest assets for the upcoming war Each side claimed their biggest asset for the upcoming war in this episode: Daemon and Vhagar. I know a lot of people count dragons and compare those numbers between both sides. Alicent´s side now has 3 dragons (Aegon, Haelena, Aemond) and Rhaenyra´s 5 for now (Rhaenyra, Daemon, Jhaeherys, Lucerys, Baella). But unfortuantely the math is not as easy. The showrunners used this episode to introduce Vhagar properly. She is truly the largest living dragon. The second biggest one is Caraxes, Daemon´s dragon. Last episode´s joyride showed us Vhagar´s and Caraxes´s sizes in comparison to each other. Caraxes is much smaller than Vhagar and the other dragons are much smaller than Caraxes. What do you think is necessary to defeat Vhagar? You cannot equate dragons to dragons. It´s like if you asked who would win a sword fight between Daemon and Aemond right now. Alicent the outsider Imagine marrying someone from a different culture, a culture which you don´t truly understand, with a different mother language. She and Otto never understood Aemma´s and Viserys´ bond to and love for each other. For them a wife is the same as a different wife. You see throughout the show how Alicent struggles with the difference in Visery´s feelings towards Aemma and her and the difference he makes between Rhaenyra and her own children with Viserys. It is not only his feelings but also how he behaves and how he sees and treats his two families. Viserys is a weak person but he never fails to stand up to anyone in defence of Rhaenyra. He doesn´t do the same for Aemond. Whatever the conflict is about, to whatever Alicent or Otto try to manipulate Viserys regarding Rhaenyra he always sides with Rhaenyra no matter who is harmed or denied in his second family. Rhaenyra allowed Alicent to play/harm herself Rhaenyra took advantage of Alicent coming undone due to Aemond injury and guided the exchange. She wanted to show everyone who Alicent has become because of her hatred and even allowed Alicent to cut her to make her point. Rhaenyra hasn´t create the situation but she showed that she was able to use it. Daemon stopping Sir Crispin Daemon recognized Rhaenyra´s plan to deminish Alicent and stopped Sir Crisping from interfering with said plan.
Daemon´s and Rhaenyra´s wedding To both of them the ancient valyrian traditions and language is who they are. Throughout the show it was shown time after time that they identify with their heritage more than with whatever is custom in Westeros. They use High Valyrian to share their most intimate thoughts and feelings to each other, to share what is closest to their hearts. Have you ever been to a forgeign country with a friend where they couldn´t understand your mother language? That is the way it is for them. It is only fitting for two true dragons to wed in the valyrian tradition. Imagine this wedding as an acknowledgement of the dragon bond they share with each other from the start. It is not for show like Westerosi weddings are, it is not about spectacle or drama. It is only between them and only the people aka children who are closest to them are present. A bond between dragons is mysterious, intimate and ultimately private between them. It happens in absence of onlookers and strangers like the consumation aka claiming of an animal dragon and a human. (Comparison to Aemond claiming Vhagar.) PS: During the furneral Veamond used his eulogy (the part of blood being thick...) to say that Rhaenyra´s kids aren´t Velaryons. Everyone who understands High Valyrian started staring at the little boys. That it is the moment Daemon chose to chuckle to redirect everyone´s attention away from them. He tried to protect them. Viserys called Alicent "Aemma" when he said he was going to bed at the end of the funeral. The guy Daemon killed in the staircase was the dude who ended up in the fire instead of Laenor.
WOW!! Thank you so much for your wonderful comment, honestly, it's amazing that you took the time to give us your POV and analysis. It added such context to things we did miss out on in our first watch, and it just goes to show how well-crafted this series is. The subtleties and lore are what make it so incredibly unique, so thank you for taking the time and making the effort!
A very well analysed comment. I hope other would take into why the ‘dragon’ bond is so sacred between Targaryen family members. They ARE the dragons. Their bond with each other is the most significant and power play as hell especially if things are mutual. We can see in Aegon and Haelena’s kids why things wouldn’t be so well up cause they don’t feel the ‘bond’ of dragon with each other. Rhaenyra and Daemon on the other hand knew the bond but were unable to figure it out until the brothel episode. However age was becoming a factor between them so they tried to suppress it for 10 years but when Rhaenyra came of age and they finally met, they both couldn’t hold themselves back off each other despite mourning the loss of their partners. It’s almost same as Dany would never able to bond with another dragon cause she’s already bond to Drogon.
You greens are always easy to spot making excuses for Alicents behaviour in the future I look forward to the hopes youll jump through once the Greens cross the line
I laugh every fucking time someone says that Alicent THE QUEEN should have been punished for cutting Rhaenyra... you hypocrites just confirmed that LUKE should have faced consequences for what he did to Aemond too...😐
Lol. I mean, to be fair - I believe this show is trying to have us divided, just as the court is right now, so we are all choosing sides, right? I get where Alicent comes from, any parent would utterly lose their minds if their child lost an eye. But we all have our preferences, whether it's with food, music, movies or in this case characters. We've had many commenters make excellent points for both Rhaenyra and Alicent and that just shows the wonderful complexity of the show's writing! We prefer who we prefer and that's ok!
You know, I agree! It would be amazing if it was hard to root for Rhaenyra and the balance and love for Alicent was more apparent in the show especially in how they write her. Past 2 episodes have made it a bit harder to root for Alicent at least in our eyes. Although we understand where she’s coming from her arguments don’t translate as well as Rhaenyra’s. We love Rhaenyra because of how rebellious she is and deep down Alicent wishes she could’ve had that life that Rhaenyra had but she stuck to duty. This would be more of a relatable argument if they chose to share this from her perspective as well. I need them to balance the scales.
@@ncblock87 don’t worry if you know about Blood and Cheese then it’s no surprising fact that Rhaenyra is going to seal her own fate. Both Daemon and Rhaenyra are gonna do questionable things in the realm.
Thanks for the comment and support. We were very conflicted obviously, but then the entire fight just turned into a whole shitshow and now we're confused 😂😂😂
It's not just about wounding. Rhynera and Lucerys face no consequences for partially blinding her son for life. Viserys is like "Hey ya'll let's just forget about this and live together as a happy family. "🤣😅
I saw a comment online about the conversation between Daemon and Viserys. Daemon said I want …nothing, but it seems he was about to Say I want Rhaenyra… or atleast a word that starts with the letter R. I went back and watched that scene and it can be true… he stopped in time tho 😳
Referring to when you said the greens went from zero dragons to vhagar: aegon has sunfyre and heleana has dreamfyre(which is cool bc she's s dragon dreamer/prophettess)prophetess. Sp they have 3 dragons at least. Rhae rhaes team will have more dragons. Vhagar is the oldest and largest but also the slowest. Vhagar could eat a smaller dragon, but don't underestimate some of the quicker dragons, either. That's all I'll say ;)
18:51 Who calls Rhaenyra's children bastards and Alicent, Aemond looks at her but won't say it was his mother because he likes his mother, Aemond doesn't like his brother Aegon so he says it was Aegon who keeps calling Rhaenyra's children of bastards but it is actually Alicent who focuses on saying that Rhaenyra's children are bastards, Alicent is very lucky that she is dead as she attacked the heir to the throne more like viserys and a weakling so nothing happened to Alicent 4:20 This episode was wonderful, the only problem is that the beach scene is very dark, they didn't learn from Game of Thrones, Daemon laughed because corlys' brother was talking bad about Rhaenyra's children look at Rhaenyra's reaction how uncomfortable she is in scene 30:22 Daemon and Rhaenyra's wedding scene was so beautiful During the wedding ceremony, Daemon and Rhaenyra drew two Valyrian glyphs on each other's foreheads, meaning "Fire" and "Blood" - the words of House Targaryen 🔥 Viserys said in episode 4 that they are both dragons and restless, Rhaenyra always loved Daemon as Daemon always loved Rhaenyra, this is what is said in the book and also and only in the first episode did we realize the connection between the two, as actors Emma and Matt said that Daemon and Rhaenyra were made to burn together is that they love each other Yes they are marrying for love they both love each other they always have 3:40 We customs of the Velaryon Family when a person dies they throw the body in the water it is their family custom, In the Targaryen Family when a person dies in the family they burn the body it is their custom too, each family has their custom
Happy for laenor and his bff, so very sad for corlys and rhaenys, they mourn laenor seahorse, while he's having the adventure of his life with ser coral, hehe and the poor guard, caught in the game of thrones.
Yeah dude! Happy for them 2 but it’s sad the parents have to live with that. Hopefully at some point they figure it out though. Although I’m not too sure that would help the situation 😬 and yeah…the fuses was just another random casualty sadly
Right?! We hope that Laenor and Qarl get to live a good and happy life, but Rhaenys' screams were so haunting, the grief so palpable... I really do wish that they can find closure in knowing their son is actually well and happy.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Now imagine if Daemon still calls Rhaenyra ‘niece’ and Viserys ‘father-in-law’, just to really double down lol! Heck, he needs to call Alicent ‘mother-in-law’ just to make her squirm.
King Viserys very clearly cared more about protecing his daughter's children's true idenity that he did about his own son's terrible injury. If I am in Alicent's shows I would've lost it a lot more.
Honestly we talk a lot of shit but if it was us in that situation I’d probably would’ve lost it too. And more so like you said. I need like an entire episode with the greens perspective man. I feel like the show is manipulating us into thinking Rhaenyra is a hero when clearly we know she isn’t fully a good person. Nowhere near actually. We need to see the likable side of Alicent more. Like her boss move at the wedding. Ughhh this show is tough man
Exactly I’m surprised Alicent was even able to compose herself for that long. She was right that Rhaenyra never had to work hard or sacrifice for things while Alicent had to deal with ‘consequences’ despite doing her part of duties.
@@OfficialMediaKnights You're correct that the show is painting the blacks as the good side and the greens as the bad side. The show is even changing certain events from the book to better emphasize that the blacks are the good guys. A prime example of this is the leanor situation/death. In the books Daemon & rhaenyra does get qarl to actually kill laenor. The show changed it because they knew it would make the blacks look bad. The show is making Criston Cole look like a spurned lover who hates Rhaenyra because she dumped him. In the books Rhaenyra attempts to seduce Criston cole many many times. Each and every time he would deny her because he's an honorable man who always follows his KingsGuard oath completely.
@Kyle Gardner see! I don’t agree with that though. Even though I was happy Laenor lived and the twist was awesome it would’ve been the strong choice to have Rhaenyra be responsible for the death. You saw how conflicted we were during the Daemon/Rhaenyra wedding! It would’ve been a really good way to start emphathizing with Alicent but oh well!
Just wanted to say I absolutely love your reactions, observations and discussions!! Personally I dislike Alicent and I’m team Black. Do I think Rhaenyra is/will continue to be a good person? Not at all. This is the Game of Thrones universe. Good people are few and far between and rarely outlive the ending. She’d definitely do many more morally questionable things in future-circumstances will force her hand, just like Alicent. Daemon’s just a loose cannon in all this and I’m here for it :) We support who we like and that’s okay! We can still have a civil discussion about it and respect everyone’s choices. Also, even though I’m not on Aemond’s side, the actor carried the character SO well. I had goosebumps watching him in that fight scene. I’d be sad to see him leave once the character ages up. I also agree with you that I hope Alicent’s children will be more than “one tone”-we want to be conflicted like we did with Jamie Lannister’s character! :)
Thank you! It’s really nice and encouraging to hear you guys enjoy our content. We appreciate all the love and support so so much. A lot of people here feel very passionate and this starts to feel like a football team playing opposite sides! I’m like geez! Sorry for liking team black guys 😂 I do love that even in my preference I’m conflicted. A lot of the commenters here help us sway back into neutral position. Rhaenyra is indeed nowhere near being a saint! I want her to do some of those blatant horrible things and I want Alicent to do something considered “good” to balance out the scales. Maybe a few episodes under her perspective you know? I love all of them, I love to love them and I love to hate them and that’s what I enjoy of GOT. I understand nobody is right really in this entire situation. There’s the political aspect, the moral aspect and the “what would a mother do” aspect. And all of those are conflicting points of view in of itself! Absolutely wanna root for Alicents kids, loved the dragon flight sequence and can’t wait to see them all grown up. Yes we show our black banners here but that doesn’t mean we agree with everything.
@@OfficialMediaKnights absolutely. And on a show like this, a character doesn’t have to be a “good person” to appreciate and support them. Some fans relate more to Rhaenyra, and some to Alicent. And that’s perfectly fine. No one needs to force their opinion on others. There’s also a reason why Daemon’s so popular with fans despite him being arguably the most controversial character in this show. People find him unpredictable and thus, intriguing (as I do). I can’t wait to see him go up against Otto Hightower!
Such a brilliantly executed plan man. And it was written and shot so well! The dialogue all has a double meaning when you rewatch it that makes even more sense given the context and of course the ending of the episode. Ughhh so good! 😃
Last comment lol- after rewatch I realize Allicent has all right to be pissed and she’s been a good queen. Rhaenyra does get away with a lot of bs. Before I didn’t get it- but I get her anger and Viserys was quite weak, he didn’t defend his own son in any way. Goodwill won’t do anything at this point. And Allicent regretted immediately. I don’t get the hate towards her anymore, she’s an angry mother
I completely understand her part and I’ve gotten to empathize with her more in the recent episodes. She’s a victim of her position as well. And just like her father she poisoned those kids with the pursuit for the throne even if the kids didn’t want it. Just like Otto did to her…and yeah Rhaenyra has to get in trouble at some point😂
@@OfficialMediaKnights right! Many online comments talk about hating her even after thinking on it so that last bit was more towards the readers in general since reactions are raw and immediate (which is why they’re great). I feel like most people once they think on it get her position. In the books we realize no one really is the hero or villain everyone is subject to their circumstance. Viserys broke a tradition which was not the best decision in the long run just within the moment so I get Aegon being a legit heir in a sense (kind of like the Dany vs Jon situation logistically Jon has the right) and I get rhaenyra fighting for her own self too. But the hate they passed on to the next generation was one they raised the kids with so I do agree the young ones are now on a mission to win for their side (even if the adults make up, the kids never saw the “good” times, which is why we have a rule to not air dirty family laundry with kids present lol) That all being said within the moment reactions everyone was pissed at Allicent lol since she was rash and in the wrong to air it out like that even if rhaenyra isn’t a saint. 👏🏼 excited for the future though and the reactions along with it
If your child was maimed and scarred for life, would you want justice? I think you angrier at Alicents reaction then when you thought Rhaenerya was literally murdering her husband. Fine, GoT makes ppl crazy.. Rhaenerya gets free pass for everything and Alicent and her kids don't. Aegon takes all the hate... but so far he's only acted like typical teenager.
Yeah if my child was maimed I’d be furious too we get it. Understand that we don’t have all the backstory that comes with the books or videos outside of what the Series is showing us. I just can’t relate with people who think they’re on the high road while doing shady shit. Rhaenyra f*cked up yes. But now it’s about protecting her kids. Yeah I do agree with the Aegon comment. He’s getting a lot of shit for no reason right now
Why is everyone talking about that he wants Lina's daughter to ride vhagar?? The dragon chooses who rides it. Lina rode vhagar, but this does not mean that vhagar will allow her daughter to ride it just because she is lina's daughter this is ridiculous 🤣🤣
I dont like Ser Criston Cole, but when Alicent demanded he take the eye of the prince and she said "You are sworn to me" Ser Criston said" As your protector, my queen." I took that as meaning yes Im sworn to you but only as your protector, not your mercenary or hitman. Also the sworn oath he took goes both ways. Alicent swore not to ask of him anything that would bring him dishonor. Taking the eye of a child prince would be dishonorable. Thats the way i saw that scene at least.
That’s also the way I see it. No matter how much Criston despise those kids cause they’re bastards, I don’t think Criston would do any dishonourable act to go against them.
I'm a Green 100% and I know I get shit on for it but I don't care. They want to protect their family first and foremost, and it's a ruthless game as Otto says. You have to play it, so you might as well play it well and do whatever it takes.
i liked your reaction but I think you were a bit too harsh on Alicent and Aemond. Alicent's child lost an eye and the kids who did it served no consequence for it. if I was her id flip out too. As for Aemond's insults towards his cousins/nephews- I think it was justified. He was bullied so I only find it natural for him to stand up for himself, he was also attacked first and im glad he hit back.
Ahah yeah, that may be true honestly. You definitely have a point in regards to Alicent and Aemond! We do react in the moment when we watch these things but in the end saner minds prevail. Nobody in this show is truly innocent, and that's what makes it so special.
oh dear it's me again lol 40:58 The Hightowers had 2 dragons so with Vhagar they have 3 now. Both Aegon (Sunfyre=male) and Haelena (Dreamfyre=female) have dragons. In the books they have another brother Daeron who also had one. At this time he is supposed to be in Oldtown but since he has not be referenced in the show yet perhaps they decided not to include him.
Haha hello again, and thank you! For the effort of commenting/enlightening us! Didn't even know there was another brother involved. The Hightowers are growing more and more powerful, team Black is going to have to step up their game!!
@@OfficialMediaKnights True. The Blacks have 6 dragons (had 8 originally but lost 2) but the mere size and experience of Vhagar has balanced it. Otto was right it was worth the eye lol
Ahah oh god... Honestly, it's going to be interesting how they're going to strategize and utilize the strengths of their dragons, since being the largest doesn't necessarily have to mean the most powerful... right?! 😂
@@OfficialMediaKnights She is a big girl but it makes her slow so that's a disadvantage. I think her experience is more important than her size tbh. And the dragonrider plays an important role too so we shall see :D
Well technically the blood of dragons does lie in Targaryens only. The Valerians only have dragons because of mixed marriages such as Rhaenys marrying Corlys. If we see clearly, Corlys doesn’t have dragon, only Rhaenys and her half Targaryen kids have the dragons. Targaryens are basically fire and Valerians sea which is also why different types of funerals between Aemma and Laena. The common thing both houses have is their origin from old Valeria. The Valerian house survived the destruction of old Valeria because this house had port system so they went away right in time while Targaryens have dragon dreamers such Haelena currently so they were able to have foreshadowed it and leave before the fall of Valeria that was situated near Volcano because of dragons but the mountain burst. After that Aegon the conqueror with her sister wives conquered king’s landing.
This shit is all viserys and otto fault but so many fans of the show wanna blame rhaenyra i wonder why? Viserys let a snake aka otto slither his way into the family and tear it apart viserys pissed off corlys by rejecting laena for alicent then tried to fix it by forcing rhaenyra to marry a gay man then she tried to do her duty as a wife but laenor just couldn't do it either he shooting blanks or he just couldn't perform either way that's not her fault and alicent knows laenor's gay so did she and fans expect her not to find a lover or have a family while her gay husband enjoys life???
I agree! The conversation between Rhaenyra and Laenor at the end reminds us that these people are still only human. Yes they have their duties but like Laenor said they also want to be happy and sometimes both of those things can’t go hand in hand. Maybe some of these decisions are selfish yeah, but they just want to be happy at the end of the day man. At least Viserys never had the intention of hurting anybody. Otto would do anything and everything to get the upper hand. There’s a big difference there. Still love both characters though! 😃
Agreed. Not to mention a married heir is always pushed by its subjects to create heirs. Viserys fault for majority of these events happening. He could’ve married Laena cause Laena cared more about being a dragon rider and supporting the heir while Alicent just wanted to live the life of any maiden out there. Viserys trusted his hand over brother continuously, he could’ve allowed Daemon to annul his marriage with Rhea but because he was scared that his brother would take his throne away so he pushed a chance to keep the family together again and after making an enemy of Valerians he decided to marry his heir to their gay son knowing well how much of a risk it would be for Rhaenyra to create heirs when they aren’t even sure that Laenor would ’outgrow’ it. While Laenor was as forced in this relationship but he usually only enjoyed the fruits of the deal not just experiencing the starvation of the deal.
The episode was shot to reflect the actual moonlight being the lighting ...and was meant to reflect that sometimes under that lighting you're not able to see everything clearly...
I mean in theory it sounds amazing... I understand the creative choices behind why the went with this but I think they over did it just a little. Still loved the episode though!
Alicent did nothing wrong!!! Aemond did nothing wrong!!! PS: Aemon was attacked first. Just saying. Four against one, come on. Dragon are claimed, not inherit !!!🤟😎 You cannot steal a Dragon. Dragon are not slaves. Vhagar's rider, Vhagar's choice!!! Dudes he lost and eye and people are cheering that a kid was harmed a mom protects his son!!! Rhaenyra committed high treason and the king knows that by The Law of Westeros that could spark war in the Realm. For me Rhaenyra is a bad choice for ruler pampered and spoiled. Team Green !!!🟢🟢🟢
@The Media Knights the feud between Alicent and Rhaenyra is like “the smart mongoose (Rhaenyra) engages the deadly cobra (Alicent) in a duel but the mongoose (Rhaenyra) outwits the cobra (Alicent) and kills him” type of scenario
The “where is duty, where is sacrifice” scene…Olivia Cooke doing some Dinklage level lifting there. The agony, the passion! That’s a Emmy nomination scene. “We Know Father. Everyone Knows”. That’s Aegon’s “the Prince will remember that little Lord” moment. Aemond taming Vhagar & holding his own in a 1v4 makes him the real chad in my eyes. Only wholesome moment, our Prince resting his head on his mom’s shoulder to let her know she can depend on him. Last but not least, GOATTO Hightower with the coldest win or you die reference, “we play an ugly game”...and I’m the meme of Homer Simpson decked out in green onsies, sitting on green cushions, wearing a Hightower snapback, holding a Go Greens flag with a Alicent poster on the wall😂. Meanwhile checking in on Blacks: “What is honor compared to a woman’s uncle”-Maester Aemon 😳
Hey dude! I absolutely loved the acting. Anytime Otto appears is masterful acting. Every. Single. Time. Olivia Cooke was outstanding in that scene, her acting really made us feel the turmoil inside of her and how things are just getting worst by the minute! Hahahaha team green all the way huh 😃😄
33:30 I think they will have to tell Corlys eventually because like they said people will think they did it and if they do not tell Corlys they will lose the Velaryons as allies edit: Not all of Alicent;s kids are bad. Poor Haelena likes to mumble prophesies and play with bugs. I love her xD
Ohhh yeah, I mean, they will need allies, especially because many will not be too happy with Rhaenyra and Daemon's wedding, it'd be in their best interest to assure Corlys that his son is alive and well, and hopefully, living his most honest and happy life. Also yes, poor Haelena, she's just out here prophecizing and not harming anyone, she's adorable 😂
It will be smart to tell his parents but will they accept that he left his legacy behind? Maybe Rhaenys will be the one who will apreciate the plan they got since she was worried about his life since Leanor and Rhaenyra got engaged 🤔
@@sultanacatalina465 yeah I think that's how they'll do it. Tell Rhaenys first; she will be relieved to know that her son is alive and well and far away from danger for good
Actually they did show two bodies being taken out of Harrenhall after the fire that was supposed to have given the assumption that was Ser Harwin and his father Lionel (The Hand)....so technically they were "seen".
I guess you're right...It was just weird how they cut away while they were "dying" normally when a film/Show does that is to hide what really happened during those events. But I guess they're actually dead dead
21:52 OMG guys I just saw a tik tok about this scene. The guy basically said that Daemon was going to defend Rhaenyra and Criston went and blocked Daemon. When I watched the episode I didn’t noticed ( i guess because I’m a fan of Daemon) but it kind of looks like he might be right. 😳😳😳🤯🤯🤯
I was convinced it was Daemon blocking Criston. Oh well I’m not sure how they want to portrey Daemon. I still like him. He is very complex but deleting the scene where he hugged his girls after Laena’s death that I didn’t like. Because we saw he loves his family. I also wonderd why he didn’t express any concern about his daughters wellbeing when Jace was stating Aemond attacked Baela.
I love your reactions..I had the same reaction with you when Aemond claimed Vaghar..Most badass scene of HotD till now and breathtakingly beautiful 😍 I m team black but I can empathize with the greens at some point..Both sides have their rights and wrongs..HotD is not about good guys vs bad guys..I think there a lot of viewers who're still searching for the good Starks and bad Lannisters..They will be hugely disappointed..
Yeah this show is morally grey EVERYWHERE! there’s wrongdoing on both sides and we are fully aware of that. Team Black here as well! But man that scene was glorious haha
I don’t understand how y’all hate Allicent when the Princess is the one bending every rule in the kingdom. Y’all are weird for bringing your 21st century mindset to this GOT world.
What a fruitcake everyone’s entitled of their opinion, and how they feel Stop getting triggered over a show Little fruitcake gay cupcake feminine little punk 😂😂
Maybe I will hate Aegon in the future but now I feel bad for him, he doesn't want to be king or marry his sister, His grandfather yokes him up for being drunk, his mother slaps him and blames him for his brother losing an eye and his father yells at him too, he's blamed for calling his nephews bastards when he didn't do it. He even had a good relationship with his nephews :(
The other way Laenor could of returned @The Media Knights is: (A cup of alcohol gets lifted up followed by long loud descusting gulping and the cup gets slammed down the camera panning up to reveal a drunk Laenor Velarion) Laenor: hit me up with another one Bartender: are you sure about that (Laenor let out a long loud deep burp and nearly fell from his stool) Laenor: do you know who you fking talking to I’m Sur Laenor son of Lord Corlys the sea snake Bartender: alright alright you made your point (He pours another cup) Bartender: here you go Laenor: thank you (Laenor put the cup up to his mouth and loudly gulped down the alcohol in a gross manner before stumbling towards the entrance) Laenor (singing in drunken voice): there once was a dragon with golden scales, his teeth were sharp as daggers and his claws were like broardswords. His wings blocked out the sun and his breath was hot as a furnace that caused devastation where ever he goooes! (As soon as he stumbled out he fell to his knees and projectile vomited all his alcohol onto the ground) Bartender: are you ok? Laenor: yes yes I’m fine (Laenor picked himself up and stumbled towards his dragon) Laenor: Seasmoke my boy how you going can you save me (People looked at him with confusion) Guy 1: what’s he doing Guy 2: I think he’s talking to that beast Note: this is a prediction not a spoiler
@The Media Knights I just relized the theme that plays when Vhagar gets up and about to take off is the same theme when Dany burns the 💩 out of the Lannister army with Drogon which is foreshadowing that Aemond will do the same thing with Vhagar when he’s older. The scene where Daemon laughs at Vaemond’s speech is foreshadowing that Daemon will make Vaemond pay for questioning Rhaenyra’s sons by killing him. Laenor’s reveal at the end of the episode is probably foreshadowing that he’ll return to find Rhaenyra has cheated on him for daemon and Laenor will fight daemon and kill him and his sons
Ohhh dude that's a nice catch, you're right!! Aemond will definitely be causing some type of havoc in the future haha, can't wait to see what's gonna be coming up! Also wait - you think Laenor is coming back?? I'm sure Rhaenys would be happy about that, but I highly doubt Laenor would see it as cheating, seeing as he did pursue his own preferences throughout their marriage. Not sure how he would take to Daemon killing Vaemond though...
@@OfficialMediaKnights I agree with you on the first one I can see Aemond is going to be the new Dany Stormborne and cause some havoc on the back of Vhagar in the future HOTD Tv series I agree with you on the second one too Laenor will come out of hiding at some stage to see Rhaenyra and her sons maybe he’ll befriend daemon I reckon Laenor would be happy with Daemon killing Vaemond because he was probably a thorn in Laenor’s side for the throne
Yes, Daemon and Rhaenyra faked Laenor's death and set him and Karl free. They only had to murder one innocent man and break Laenor's parents' hearts to do it. Plus, Daemon's daughters and Rhaenyra's sons must be so confused. I don't have much sympathy for Daemon, Rhaenyra, Laenor, or Karl.
Emma D'arcy on Rhaenyra deciding to be upfront during the aftermath of the fight between the kids: “That place of abandonment (where Rhaenyra felt she was stuck in during the time jump and episode 6) is healed. Rhaenyra is found by Daemon and it allows her to back herself and back her family, and sort of walk straight at the accusations as opposed to trying to shield from them."
They are both out from that quiet and backed down state they were in during episode 6, both feel stronger together and like themselves again.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Welcome to the House of the Dragon. Family murder at it's Best.
This makes total sense! Quick question: what exactly happens when a dragon rejects the rider? 😳
@@OfficialMediaKnights dragons could kill the one who tries to claim them, just go leave, or other things it depends.
@@OfficialMediaKnights if a dragon rejects a rider they are usually eaten, so bonding with Vhagar is a pretty bold move.
The corpse in the fire was the guard who Daemon strangled.
Yesss! We caught that during the editing ahah we were too disturbed by what was happening 😂😂😂

You’re right! Probably just justify it that way. RIP to the poor guy
Aemond claiming vhagar was epic. Then he uses the ropes to pull her upwards and she obeys the command. Awesome!
RIGHT?!?!? What a badass moment, this kid is crazy for riding Vhagar literally upon his first time meeting her 😂😂😂
Vhagar put him to the test. Someone said all of her previous riders had something in common… they were brave🤩
@@sultanacatalina465 well I guess that tells us something about Aemond doesn’t it! Kid has 🏀 of steel!
Vhagar’s previous rider before laena was Baelon ‘The Brave’. He was Daemon and Viserys’ father. He got his nickname when he slapped Balerion the black dread on the snout, Balerion being much bigger than Vhagar.
Ohhh dude!!! That is so sick, Baelon sounds like he was a badass! Would have been so cool if we could see that!

@@Tooba-K123 exactly 😂
For real! Those kids have gone through some heavy sh*t! Talk about a complicated family tree haha 😂
The wedding happens on Dragonstone, so more than 48 hours I'd guess.
True have to account for travel time! Haha
In the books they married with 6 months of Laena and Laenor’s death so not really 48hrs but I do understand your points.
OOOHHHH!!! Wow, the context that adds is absolutely insane!! Thanks for the comment and explanation!
@@OfficialMediaKnights i just found the explanation for that. Dragons of flesh weaving dragons of thread means Targaryens (blacks and greens) are weaving the Targaryen banners for the war.
Ohhhhh damn!!! Yeah, they're definitely heading toward an inescapable war... the unstoppable force meets the immovable object!

Thank you for clarifying dude! We appreciate you
Daemon might also be laughing because he knows corlys also has bastards of his own.
And now you take my son’s eye, and to even that you feel entitled”
Alicent was forced into marrying the king and has done her best to be a true and moral queen.
Totally agree
Helaena rides Dreamfyre
@@OfficialMediaKnights vhagar is a game changer
@@OfficialMediaKnights vhagar is an asset but still not the greatest asset of the war since while being the largest also means she is the oldest and slowest dragon. the greatest asset of the war was a man and the blacks got that man this episode.
@@sanjaysanj5603 and his badass CARAXES. I heard it's the most badass one.
6:46 , Viserys called Alicent "AEMMA". I was like OMG 😂.
Ahahhaha I knowwww, the drama is JUICY
Team black all the way...love rahnerya and daemon
Ahah team Black alllll the wayyyy 😂😂😂
They literally attacked him first. They were all jeakous he had claimed Vhagar and thus were 4 against 1 and took an eye out of him.
I had several thoughts regarding this episode, questions the episode asked and answered:
Comparisons:
- Viserys love to Aemma and his relationship with Alicent
- Who is the core family to Viserys/Rhaenyra/Daemon
- Daemon getting 2 different kinds of homes offered: Viserys/Rhaenyra
- Dragon bonds: Daemon/Rhaenyra & Aemond/Vhagar
- Strong dragons to weak dragons
- Each side claiming their biggest asset for the upcoming war: Daemon & Vhagar
- Westerosi marriage ceremony to Targaryen one
Bonding / Misunderstood incest
Targaryens have the unique ability to bond with dragons.
Daemon´s and Rhaenyra´s bond
The show has established the deep bond between riders and their dragons, how instantly that bond forms, how strong it is.
Who are the most important people in their lifes to them?
a) Viserys
Aemma - The previous episode showed us Viserys spending his time looking at Aemma´s ring, missing her. In this episode Viserys calls Alicent "Aemma" when he prepares to go to bed. It seems Aemma is always in Viserys thoughts. She is the one woman he truly loves, even so many years after her death. (Comparison: Even immediately after he calls Alicent Aemma you see how differently he feels towards her when the kingsguard asks him if he should stay with the queen and Viserys declines.)
Rhaenyra - She is the child he has with Aemma and he loves her more than any other of his children.
We haven´t seen him spend any time talking with his other children.)
Daemon - Viserys loves his brother and cherishes them growing up together. Yes, he is very different from him but we have seen with Rhaenyra, who is like Daemon, that Viserys is able to love someone with a simmilar charakter. I think the only difference between them is that Otto intentionally targeted his relationship with Daemon and managed to erode and damage it over time.
b) Rhaenyra
Daemon - He is her bonded person. He is her home. He is the person who truly sees her and loves her with all his heart.
Viserys - Despite him being so different in temperament from her she loves him and she also feels his love for her.
Her children
c) Daemon
Rhaenyra - See above
Viserys - He loves his brother despite Viserys being so weak.
(She is the one who punched Aemong in the face)
Dragons & dragons
There are dragons and there are dragons in the Targaryen bloodline.
Coming Home / I need ... nothing
Daemon came home to Westeros.
- First physically.
- Then Viserys tried to make up with him and offered him a home in Kings Landing, at his court. He tried to give him what Daemon expressed to want in episode 1. That turned out the same way as Viserys sending troops to help win the battle against the
Crab Feeder. Too little too late.
holy shit this is amazing! could you please do this for every episode? like I read so many comments that make no sense because they don‘t get the real message behind the conversation of a scene but I truly understand your point of views! thanks for that 😊
Absolutely agreed, it's such a joy to read such a concise, thoughtful and deeply analytical comment. It really made our day, so thank you, truly!
Rhaenyra is kind of a spoiled, selfish, arsehole if we're keeping it a stack.
a single lie was not told.
(Paddy Considine and Matt Smith discuss HOTD | Official Game of Thrones Podcast: Episode 1 (HBO). Interview part starts around 37 min) ruclips.net/video/_lyhOfYxqiU/видео.html&ab_channel=GameofThrones )
I found a RUclips interview with Matt and Paddy during which Matt explains who Daemon is for him, what he wants.
"Daemon is quiet a fragile creature."
He also says that Daemon only wants recognition, that he just wants to stand next to someone.
I truly enjoyed listening to Matt´s insight into Daemon. He managed to put into words what I at least felt was always unspoken at the heart of Daemon´s character and which I could only feel but not truly express in words. I thought you might enjoy it too.
I feel like everyone just kind of forgot that Daemon murdered his first wife.
Lol uh, yeah, that... happened... It did get overshadowed huh?!

😂😂 thanks for the love dude
Yes bro.. other reaction channels were only clapping when that girl punch aemond not when he punch back 😂
That whole fight sequence had us at the edge of our seats thinking one of these kids was gonna bite the dust!
I love your reactions so much.
Aemond Targaryen is FINALLY here and I can't... 😭😭😭😭❤️

Even taking it for the result, Aemond said himself:
He traded his eye for Vhagar.
@drumdougie1 literally proved the persons point of why Alicent called it abuse
Viserys called Alicent "Aemma" and you didn't even noticed that. And daemon was laughing in the funeral not because he was nervous, but because of what the guy was claiming about Rhaenyras children.
YES FINALLY I've been waiting for your reaction guys!
Ahahah, dude thank you so so much, after an all-nighter editing this video, this really makes our day!!! Thank youuu
Everyone at the wedding scene thinking : how am I supposed to justify this shit now. 😅
HaHa Daemon murders someone to fake a death and suddenly everyone is ok with it. Man, this show really exposes morality.
Lol uhhh yeah, it does, but I think that might kinda be the point? 🤷🏽♀️
Man you did not just talk about morality in this universe, right? 😂💀
16:40 Otto noticed Rhaenyra came with Daemon 😄😄
Nothing gets last Otto. He’s a very very smart man! He made his way back into being the hand again surely he won’t miss the opportunity 😃
U r one of my fav reaction channels ♥️ Ty so much
Aw man thanks so much for the kind words and the support, it really makes our day!
I love your wakanda forever reactions as well 🔥🔥👍
Thanks so much for the comment and the sub, it means a lot to us and that you find our reactions relatable!! We're glad to have you here!
The guy Daemon killed on the stairway is definately the guy that was burned he had similar look to Laenor
Absolutely! Noticed it while editing. We were way to focused on Laenor being possibly killed haha
Hi Knights . Love the reaction . I was falling asleep during the dark shots. The rest of the episode was totally unexpected . 😳
Thank you so much man! We appreciate you always showing up😃 yeah man those dark shots were waaay to dark but at least the episode was probably the best one so far 😁
Daemon is about family and he's best friend with Corlys, he married Laena and Laenor is his brother in law. He'll never harm him.
"who did they burn" "one of alicent's kids I hope" lmaoooo 😂
@@OfficialMediaKnights This one comment alone has cemented your position as my favorite Game of Thrones reaction Channel.

If you listen to what Jhaenyra is saying to Daemon, then you know that they are planning to fake Laenor's death.
YESSS!! It was such a subtle kind of foreshadowing, you only catch it in hindsight! Such good writing!!
Lines drawn
The lines between the different sides got drawn in this episode. The showrunners made the decision to include two frames, one for each side, to show who is on which side:
Alicent, Sir Crispin (sorry, can´t stop myself), Aemond
Rhaenyra, Daemon, Jhaecerys, Lucerys, Corlys
Prophecy
It is worth to truly listen to each word Haelena is saying.
Claiming a "dragon" aka claiming the biggest assets for the upcoming war
Each side claimed their biggest asset for the upcoming war in this episode: Daemon and Vhagar.
Alicent the outsider
Imagine marrying someone from a different culture, a culture which you don´t truly understand, with a different mother language. She and Otto never understood Aemma´s and Viserys´ bond to and love for each other. For them a wife is the same as a different wife. You see throughout the show how Alicent struggles with the difference in Visery´s feelings towards Aemma and her and the difference
he makes between Rhaenyra and her own children with Viserys.
Rhaenyra allowed Alicent to play/harm herself
Rhaenyra took advantage of Alicent coming undone due to Aemond injury and guided the exchange. She wanted to show everyone who Alicent has become because of her hatred and even allowed Alicent to cut her to make her point. Rhaenyra hasn´t create the situation but she showed that she was able to use it.
Daemon stopping Sir Crispin
Daemon recognized Rhaenyra´s plan to deminish Alicent and stopped Sir Crisping from interfering with said plan.
Daemon´s and Rhaenyra´s wedding
To both of them the ancient valyrian traditions and language is who they are. (Comparison to Aemond claiming Vhagar.)
PS:
During the furneral Veamond used his eulogy (the part of blood being thick...) to say that Rhaenyra´s kids aren´t Velaryons.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Thank you so much for taking the time to read my thoughts on this episode. I truly appreciate it.
Thank you for sharing, it was absolutely our pleasure!
I laugh every fucking time someone says that Alicent THE QUEEN should have been punished for cutting Rhaenyra... you hypocrites just confirmed that LUKE should have faced consequences for what he did to Aemond too...😐
I love all of them! Reminds me to call my brother!🤣🤣🤣
Give him a call! 😂
Mother defends her son that lost an eye against a mob of bastard children.
"I really hate Alicent"
XD
@@OfficialMediaKnights I wish Rhaenyra actually ordered Leanor dead instead of just faking it because right now it's way too easy to root for her.

Yes Daemon was going to say Rhaenyra.
OOOHHHHHH nice catch!!! It felt like he was going to say something, he held his tongue at the last minute!! Whooaaaa
@@OfficialMediaKnights Even better is he didn’t say ‘I want’, he replied “I *need* R-…nothing” which parallels Rhaenyra saying she needs him later.

Damon broke someone’s neck, remember? That was the body. Poor random guy : - P
Yeah! Caught that later while editing. Poor dude man…just tryna do his job. Thank you for commenting man 😃
18:51 Who calls Rhaenyra's children bastards and Alicent, Aemond looks at her but won't say it was his mother because he likes his mother, Aemond doesn't like his brother Aegon so he says it was Aegon who keeps calling Rhaenyra's children of bastards but it is actually Alicent who focuses on saying that Rhaenyra's children are bastards, Alicent is very lucky that she is dead as she attacked the heir to the throne more like viserys and a weakling so nothing happened to Alicent
4:20 This episode was wonderful, the only problem is that the beach scene is very dark, they didn't learn from Game of Thrones, Daemon laughed because corlys' brother was talking bad about Rhaenyra's children look at Rhaenyra's reaction how uncomfortable she is in scene
30:22 Daemon and Rhaenyra's wedding scene was so beautiful During the wedding ceremony, Daemon and Rhaenyra drew two Valyrian glyphs on each other's foreheads, meaning "Fire" and "Blood" - the words of House Targaryen 🔥
Viserys said in episode 4 that they are both dragons and restless, Rhaenyra always loved Daemon as Daemon always loved Rhaenyra, this is what is said in the book and also and only in the first episode did we realize the connection between the two, as actors Emma and Matt said that Daemon and Rhaenyra were made to burn together is that they love each other Yes they are marrying for love they both love each other they always have
3:40 We customs of the Velaryon Family when a person dies they throw the body in the water it is their family custom, In the Targaryen Family when a person dies in the family they burn the body it is their custom too, each family has their custom
I love everyone's reaction when Rhaenyra calls him Uncle, I'm here for the cringe and I hope they lean into it! 🤣🤣🤣
AHAHAHAHA gaaahhh the cringe, they did NOT need to remind us!!!! Sweet lord.. 😂😂😂😂
@@OfficialMediaKnights Now imagine if Daemon still calls Rhaenyra ‘niece’ and Viserys ‘father-in-law’, just to really double down lol! Heck, he needs to call Alicent ‘mother-in-law’ just to make her squirm.
AHAHAHAH NOOOOOOOO!!!! I just died a little on the inside lol, but also would love to see him antagonize Alicent 😂😂😂😂
Btw in valyrian uncle and father are the same word. So she's also calling him daddy.
@@kissmyass682 I don't know if this is true but I want it to be.
@@kylemma33 there's no good side or bad side here ser
Just wanted to say I absolutely love your reactions, observations and discussions!! Personally I dislike Alicent and I’m team Black. Do I think Rhaenyra is/will continue to be a good person? Not at all. This is the Game of Thrones universe. Good people are few and far between and rarely outlive the ending. She’d definitely do many more morally questionable things in future-circumstances will force her hand, just like Alicent. Daemon’s just a loose cannon in all this and I’m here for it :)
We support who we like and that’s okay!
The guy that was murdered in place of Laenor was the guy that Daemon kills when the plan is at move. Rewatch it 😉
Such a brilliantly executed plan man. And it was written and shot so well! The dialogue all has a double meaning when you rewatch it that makes even more sense given the context and of course the ending of the episode. Ughhh so good! 😃
Your reactions were just sensational! 👌🏿😁
Haha thank you so much for the support and kind comment, it means the world to us that you enjoyed it!
Rhaenyra fans when the Dance starts I will bathe in your tears
But the hate they passed on to the next generation was one they raised the kids with so I do agree the young ones are now on a mission to win for their side (even if the adults make up, the kids never saw the “good” times, which is why we have a rule to not air dirty family laundry with kids present lol)
That all being said within the moment reactions everyone was pissed at Allicent lol since she was rash and in the wrong to air it out like that even if rhaenyra isn’t a saint.
He’s getting a lot of shit for no reason right now
This is just a start for aemond he's a beast in the book and a menace to society
AHAHAH, no wayyy! We love a good menace to society 😂😂😂
@@OfficialMediaKnights Trust me you guys aren't ready
Oh dear….hahaha well I guess you’ll let us know when we get there. It’s gonna be a wild ride
@@OfficialMediaKnights you'll get a glimpse of real aemond next week i can't wait to see you guys react🤣
Oh sweet lord, we are SCARED 😂😂😂
Why is everyone talking about that he wants Lina's daughter to ride vhagar?? The dragon chooses who rides it. Lina rode vhagar, but this does not mean that vhagar will allow her daughter to ride it just because she is lina's daughter this is ridiculous 🤣🤣
Not “allow” but I guess we will never know if she could’ve claimed him or not 🤷♂️
I dont like Ser Criston Cole, but when Alicent demanded he take the eye of the prince and she said "You are sworn to me" Ser Criston said" As your protector, my queen." I took that as meaning yes Im sworn to you but only as your protector, not your mercenary or hitman. Also the sworn oath he took goes both ways. Alicent swore not to ask of him anything that would bring him dishonor. Taking the eye of a child prince would be dishonorable. Thats the way i saw that scene at least.
Yeah! Definitely caught that…at least he can draw boundaries thank god! Hopefully he seats back into the decent side little by little 😃
That’s also the way I see it.
@@OfficialMediaKnights Absolutely agreed with everything you said 😄
ND filter for sure 😂 I believe the night scenes were shot day for night
Ahah yeah, the ND was strong on that one! We did look into it and it was shot in the daytime!
oh dear it's me again lol
40:58 The Hightowers had 2 dragons so with Vhagar they have 3 now.
Honestly, it's going to be interesting how they're going to strategize and utilize the strengths of their dragons, since being the largest doesn't necessarily have to mean the most powerful... right?! 😂
Daeron will appear in season 2 he's in oldtown they won't cut such an important character
@@OfficialMediaKnights She is a big girl but it makes her slow so that's a disadvantage. I think her experience is more important than her size tbh. And the dragonrider plays an important role too so we shall see :D
The Targaryens and Velaryons have the blood of the Dragon. Magic lies within Dragon blood. Helaena was performing a magic spell at the funeral.
Ohhhh no way?!?!?! I wonder what kind of spell, that'd be crazy!!
@@OfficialMediaKnights i agree viserys is a good man and everybody tries to take advantage of that just like daemon said in episode 1
Dragon are claimed, not inherit !!!🤟😎
You cannot steal a Dragon.
Who would you put on the Throne currently?
@The Media Knights the feud between Alicent and Rhaenyra is like “the smart mongoose (Rhaenyra) engages the deadly cobra (Alicent) in a duel but the mongoose (Rhaenyra) outwits the cobra (Alicent) and kills him” type of scenario
I guess we'll have to wait and see! We got some juicy confrontations coming our way! 😁
@@OfficialMediaKnights what’s your favourite part of the new and improved Laenor prediction?
Hahahaha team green all the way huh 😃😄
eh i wouldnt go that far lol
@@powertrip25 Then don't go ...
@@vikasnair6279 good one
@@powertrip25 Mercy Sire but I didn't chose the green life. the green life chose me.
@The Media Knights what’s your favourite part of both Sur Laenor Velarion predictions?
33:30 I think they will have to tell Corlys eventually because like they said people will think they did it and if they do not tell Corlys they will lose the Velaryons as allies
edit: Not all of Alicent;s kids are bad.
Yeah dude! And then the other knights stop Criston from escalating the situation by the looks of it a little after 😃
I was convinced it was Daemon blocking Criston.
Aemond "One Eye" Targaryen is finally here. Prepare for some crimes in the future.
Oh man…I have a bad feeling about this 😬
I don’t understand how y’all hate Allicent when the Princess is the one bending every rule in the kingdom.
He even had a good relationship with his nephews :(
Yeah that was kind of messed up how all the responsibility is landing on him. Surely he will snap at some point 😬
Which is why I feel more bad for him than most kids in this show. He’s the one who’s the most dragged in situations he doesn’t want to be part off.
AEMOND is badass
Dude that kid rode the biggest Dragon in the realm. Almost fell from it, but he never once hesitated. Respects dude!
The other way Laenor could of returned @The Media Knights is:
(A cup of alcohol gets lifted up followed by long loud descusting gulping and the cup gets slammed down the camera panning up to reveal a drunk Laenor Velarion)
Laenor: hit me up with another one
Bartender: are you sure about that
(Laenor let out a long loud deep burp and nearly fell from his stool)
Laenor: do you know who you fking talking to I’m Sur Laenor son of Lord Corlys the sea snake
Bartender: alright alright you made your point
(He pours another cup)
Bartender: here you go
Laenor: thank you
(Laenor put the cup up to his mouth and loudly gulped down the alcohol in a gross manner before stumbling towards the entrance)
Laenor (singing in drunken voice): there once was a dragon with golden scales, his teeth were sharp as daggers and his claws were like broardswords. His wings blocked out the sun and his breath was hot as a furnace that caused devastation where ever he goooes!
(As soon as he stumbled out he fell to his knees and projectile vomited all his alcohol onto the ground)
Bartender: are you ok?
Laenor: yes yes I’m fine
(Laenor picked himself up and stumbled towards his dragon)
Laenor: Seasmoke my boy how you going can you save me
(People looked at him with confusion)
Guy 1: what’s he doing
Guy 2: I think he’s talking to that beast
Note: this is a prediction not a spoiler
If they lay eggs they are female. Vhagar, Meleys (Rhaenys) and Cyrax (Rhaenyra) are all female.
Yess!! Thanks for clarifying and for coming back for our reaction again, it means the world to us!
@@OfficialMediaKnights I love your reactions mate how could I not :p xD
You’re awesome! Thank you for putting a smile on our faces and sharing some knowledge 😄
A dragon can’t be stolen because a dragon is not property.
@@OfficialMediaKnights I agree with you on the first one I can see Aemond is going to be the new Dany Stormborne and cause some havoc on the back of Vhagar in the future HOTD Tv series
I agree with you on the second one too Laenor will come out of hiding at some stage to see Rhaenyra and her sons maybe he’ll befriend daemon
I reckon Laenor would be happy with Daemon killing Vaemond because he was probably a thorn in Laenor’s side for the throne
He didn't steal anything lol
I mean, finders' keepers, right?
Yes, Daemon and Rhaenyra faked Laenor's death and set him and Karl free. They only had to murder one innocent man and break Laenor's parents' hearts to do it. Plus, Daemon's daughters and Rhaenyra's sons must be so confused. I don't have much sympathy for Daemon, Rhaenyra, Laenor, or Karl.
