Little tip for anybody experiencing the problems seen at 4:01. Corsa c’s have a common problem, which is letting water and moisture into the cabin. This is usually age related. You could spend a lot of time identifying the issues and trying to find where the water is getting in. However, a quicker way to dry the wet patches is by cracking both windows in inch and leaving Open for a day or two in dry weather. This removes the moisture from the carpets. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much! I am literally having this problem right now. This is especially bad in the winter, when ice builds up on the inside on the windshield
My stepdad had a corsa, it was a 1.0 - The thing was horrible. It stank beyond belief because of the pools of water, the gear linkage was broken and held together with tape, it had a massive exhaust leak somewhere, we never found it. The wiper motor wasn't "aligned" properly, as in it would stop in the middle of the windscreen when turned off or on intermittent. The body panels were all falling off. Oh man, I could go on forever. It cost £450 + trade in of £200 on a rover with a blown head gasket. I paid £250 for my car, and once I fixed the engine hunting (vacuum leak, and bad MAF - cost £30 to fix) it's been the best car for the value ever. Just passed it's MOT with only wear and tear things, tyres, headlights etc.
Hey made love the videos bought a 2006 Corsa 3dr sxi 1.2, been watching your vids incase i ever have problems keep the vids up your channel is brilliant
Hi did you show us how the water is getting in the car, I'm uncertain. Is it through the inside of the box??? Also, have you done any video to show how you get the front door card off with out breaking anything??? That would be a good one :)
Hi I’m new to the channel and been watching your 1.8 build👍🏼 But if I were you when the carpets already soaking wet. Get the power washer and carpet shampoo out and give it a proper wash. It will also fluff up the carpet as well as killing of any mildew spores to prevent it moulding again. Good channel bud😉👍🏼
Can you paint or vinyl wrap or paint the centre console (underneath the handbrake and gears) ? If so, could you make a video about that? Even if it's just which paint to use /recommendations on how to vinyl wrap etc :)
Good progress, do you not wear latex/vinyl gloves??helps keep my hands warm in winter and girly soft. Do you work on the spanners as a day job as you are very knowledgeable on cars..
nice video, it just wouldn't be the same if we didn't have a corsa with a water leak, they all leak..terrible design flaw on the brake servo-drivers side and the bcm box gasket passenger side..keep the vids coming...well done
Chief thanks for the video but I think I'm a little bit behind coz in this video you keep on saying, when you sealed the the car last time so I'd like to know what cause the corsa to have water under seats,it's driver's side to the back of my seat?
The passenger side leak is from the floor mat! I've had that problem before and that was my issue. I had a heavy rubber mat which apparently blocked the water from escaping below the footwell and water started building up somewhere. I did take the fuse box and that sort of area apart many types in hopes of fixing it but all along it was the damn mat lol Edit: as i carried on watching, the bcm box seal is probably your no.1 issue but make sure not to put floor mats in
Hi, I've just discovered your channel and I've seen the vids of this corsa, but I have one question, the fuel pump in the 1.2 is the same to the one of 1.8? I don't really know but if it isn't you might have some problems with the car. Till now big thumbs up. 👍👍
but how does that much water get into the engine bay first of all for it to drain into the fuse box then run into the interior of the car, soaking the carpet? I don't get it and also the lip of the cover sits inside the lower part of the box. There's no way water should be able to get inside the box....I've checked my one and that's how it sits together...
It's a good idea to try and borrow a smoke machine from a friendly dj. Put it in the car with the doors closed and fill the car with smoke. Then .. where you can see smoke leaking out .. water will get in.
Owen Thomas Yeah a cleaning video would be fantastic. Also for people like me who are to some serious degree mechanically illiterate it would be nice just to give a brief description and brief overview of function of the parts he's messing with. Its very interesting.
I turned into this to watch how to get the backrest of the rear seat .not to watch the work all ready done !! ?? Where are the fixings for the above what tool is needed ..how many bolts ? Are they sealed with lock tight. Just bits of info like that would be more helfull.
The Corsa's have got a habit of leaking in from the bulkhead. Check all the rubber gromits coming in from the engine bay. This will sort that isuue :-)
How can you NOT KNOW that silicon won't stick if something is greasy? It literally has it written on the tube. And for all the times you buy parts and you've left this til AFTER decent rain, why didn't you just buy a new box with new seal ages beforehand? Usually your videos are very good. But this is incompetency on top of letting something knowledgeably go bad. That mold will never leave that vehicle.
I watch so many projects on RUclips, Savage garages projects are always by far the best. Keep doing what your doing you put a smile on our faces
+1

You're doing a great job🙌 appreciate your skills and effort you put on each and every day🙏
Love the series, looks like you are having a lot of fun! Just one question, when are you going to put the steering wheel on the left side?
nice video, it just wouldn't be the same if we didn't have a corsa with a water leak, they all leak..terrible design flaw on the brake servo-drivers side and the bcm box gasket passenger side..keep the vids coming...well done

Have you checked the drains in the scuttle panel? I know the Vectra C's suffer from this and the water flows in through the heater motor.
I know this is late and probably a a lot of money, but I reckon getting the whole car interior, carpet roof and sides re done brand new.
Nice work so far. What's with the Ford video by the way? It doesn't play?

The Savage Garage - They’re not expensive?
ItsCMF yes they are, you can spend up to 2k doing a decent job. I wanted to do a 1.8 conversion so :)
