Do you have a bathroom that is in desperate need of a style refresh or even a total makeover? This video presents several budget friendly ideas for making over even the ugliest of bathrooms. I’m going to paint the tile and the fixtures-you won’t believe how great it turns out. I’m also using a dark botanical peel and stick wallpaper on the walls and a thrift store bedspread for a shower and window curtain to create a modern Victorian aesthetic in the space. And, I’ll be decorating using inexpensive thrift store finds including a wall cabinet and vintage floral lamp. Oh, and I’m hanging a curb find mirror above the vanity. The only new things I purchased for this room were a new baseboard vent cover, one shower rod, and a soap dispenser! In all, I spent under $300 to achieve this unbelievable beer and after!

Wow, that was a lot of work but one thing I’ve learned about you is that you’re not afraid of work! Beautiful job, and the money you saved is incredible.
Thank you very much, Janey! I don’t know if you have watched the videos from the makeover of Amiah’s basement. (There are three of them.) Those makeovers about killed me! 😜
Absolutely stunning , cozy and inviting! You have a God given gift for decorating! Thank you soo much.. hopefully in the next few months we'll be doing a makeover in one of our bathrooms. I already have several preliminary ideas for my colors..just need to work on the details and accessories. I'm always open to new, unique and inspirational " out of the box" decor.Thank you Sherry again for sharing your experience, visions and unique style with us! Love ! Love! Love!! The use of a vintage bedspread for your window and shower curtain! I use my older Vintage crocheted tablecloths as curtains..and I just love the way the sun makes soo many patterns on the opposite walls and furniture...especially in the evening hours! You truly are an inspiration to us all! ❤❤
I feel so lazy after each of your shows. A bathroom refresh looks better than a total gut job. YOU GIRL, ARE AMAZING!
Super job
Totally agree!!!
Right? She's like Superwoman!! 😅
I love using unexpected textiles for shower curtains, wall hangings and window treatments, as no one else will have it. I think the bathroom is perfection.
OH, thank you so much, Mikki! You are so sweet! 😊
The molding was the perfect finishing touch for a fabulous project!
Thank you very much! I thought the molding really helped to update the old thick tile, too!
I agree!
It doesn’t look like the same bathroom at all. You have made it look like a whole new space, it an amazing transformation.
I wish I had your spunk and ability, Sherry. Looks beautiful.
Hi, Sherry. This project definitely qualifies as “once an ugly duckling being transformed into a beautiful swan!” And a savings of $20,000 plus is definitely a win, win! Everything turned out beautifully! Great job!
@@Southeastgeorgiapeach Thank you so much! I wish I could find some color photos of the way it looked when we moved in. The original vanity with its peach tile countertop and sink was hideous!
Oh my Sherry! Straddling that sink to hang that mirror!
I love the makeover!
I love how the stained-glass window and the curtain below gives the impression that the window is open.
The bathroom is beautiful
Another great job
Love EVERYTHING (except the window covering).
Great job!
Sherry, my husband and I were fixing up the bathroom in a rental home we had decided to sell. The tub was from the 1950s and needed attention. As I searched, I found that people recommended Rustoleum Appliance epoxy over the Rustoleum Tub and Tile epoxy. It's been several years and the people who bought the house said the paint still looks like new. We painted the tub, the lavatory and the countertop using the appliance epoxy. Juat wanted to let you know in case the tub and tile doesn't hold up.
I loved the transformation of your bathroom! Think I might want to hang wallpaper in ours.
I will be putting my 130 years old, 1/2 window of stained glass, inside over my new windows, like you did!
It is facing "town" and is part of the features on the east side of the old Victorian.
Great minds think alike. I was thrilled to see you hang that stained glass! ❤
The bathroom makeover was amazing!
Beautiful, I admire the hard work you do, couldn't believe when you were up on the vanity doing the mirror.
It’s not that you have the skills, but that your not afraid to choose original finishes! I can hear all the “old guys” saying that’s not the way you do it, you show us what works and what makes it sing! Blessed days!
Oh, thank you, Alice! You are so kind!😊
Absolutely stunning. You should be very proud of yourself!
When we bought our current house, the main bathroom had not been updated since about 1954. It still had that plastic tile they used back then, in pearlized hot pink. Both my husband and I had grown up in houses with that tile in the bathroom, and neither of us was willing to live with it again. I de-glossed it, sanded lightly, and painted it sage green marbelized with peach. It looks like real tile, and has worn extremely well. People will touch it when I say it's painted and remark that it feels like real tile. It would have taken a major gut job and a lot of expense to remove the plastic tiles, and we couldn't do it then, that being the only working bathroom in the house. 20 years later, it still looks good -- and the other bathrooms are working, too!
Your bathroom turned out amazing! What a lovely bath for your guests!
You are so clever and agile. I love the way it turned out !
Love it~the wallpaper is fabulous ❤
Sherry,
I love, love, love the update to your update!
Your out of town guest will love using it!!!
Everything is fresh and lovely. The trim and Chandelier were such beautiful added touches!! 💕
I was amazed watching you on top of that sink, hanging that mirror. I thought, nothing stops Sherry!
Our last home was built in 1964. We had similar register covers that fit up against the walls.
17 years later, we listed our home. Instead of painting, we too replaced the register covers with new identical ones. I love the choice you made, but couldn’t find something similar to that.
We also had a laundry, shoot but removed the door and trim and drywalled over the opening. When you put the clothes down the chute, they dropped on top of the water heater in the basement…
I have a similar bathroom that I haven't renovated because of cost. You've inspired me to do a DIY makeover . Thank you for sharing this. ❤❤
You are so welcome! The tub and tile paint will last longer if you sand really well first. I didn’t do this the first time, and I really think that is why it started peeling. Even if I have to do touch ups every five years, it is worth it to me not to have flesh toned peach tiles!!!
Opulent and moody, and also a relaxing oasis! What a lovely nod to your love of birds and the unexpected whimsy of the bedspread! So many really good things to take in while enjoying a well deserved soak. You did an amazing job!
Sherry the bathroom is beautiful. What an awesome transformation..Now it makes me want to do mine..❤
Thank you, Debbie! Send me a picture if you makeover your bathroom. I’d love to see it!
Amazing job! I'm really impressed that you were able to paint the fixtures and tile and tub. The chair raíl molding is so much better than an abrupt edge with the tile. Absolutely beautiful.
Such a beautiful unique and classy transformation !! My favorite item is the bedspread shower curtain! So unexpected and the color is classic!
Love the trim around the tile!! This room came together so beautifully!! $30k vs $251? This is so encouraging to those who may have to wait for the budget for a full reno. It can look gorgeous until then for so little!! Thank you!!!
I love that wallpaper . It looks so crisp and beautiful.
Oh, thank you, Debbie! And, the wallpaper is inexpensive!
Wow! I love what you did with the whole room. You have a wonderful eye for design and color. I would recommend a shorter, thinner lamp for the corner. The glass shade disappears against the white wall and it seems like it would get in the way of opening the cabinet door? Thanks for the inspiration!
The result is absolutely stunning 😊 Fun to see more of your special purchases find such perfect homes in your home. ❤ can’t wait until next week’s video of creativity and beauty
Cracks me up Sherry saying safety and stability while standing in top of her sink!!!😆 Oh the irony.
😂
I love this makeover! I'm so over farmhouse in general, but a touch here and there always works. I love the wallpaper you chose!
The wallpaper is great! The black fixtures look good, too. I agree that the farmhouse style seems to be less popular now than it used to be. Everything has a season, right? My aesthetic is a home that feels curated over time with unique finds that I imagine have a historic, romantic or dramatic story behind them. Your home is chock full of such things, which makes it fun for us viewers. Thank you for sharing.
The dark wallpaper is absolutely the cherry on top in this project ❤
Great redo! I hope this inspires people who can't afford to replace tubs/tile. The most important thing besides ventilation and protection is preparation. The wallpaper is gorgeous 😍. Just be sure to add a pedestal mirror on the counter if you have young children who can't see in the wall mirror. Hopefully you may have grandchildren one day 😊😉
Sherry, you are a force to be reckoned with! I LOVE that you went with the dark wallpaper to offset the white & black. Your attention to detail is amazing! Truly a remarkable makeover!
Classic. It now matches more of the rest of your home.
I think this is my favorite makeover you've ever done 💖💖💖.
You have more talent in your pinky finger than I do in my entire body!
So great!❤
What a beautiful transformation. I am in love with those chenille curtains. That stain glass is gorgeous too. Now I think I am ready to tackle my scary bathroom.
Thank you, Shelly! Go for it. I can’t imagine that your bathroom is worse than my peach nightmare. (It wasn’t even a pretty shade of peach; it was kind of a flesh tone.😳
😂 camo for nudists of a certain shade 😂
Beautiful. Good job Sherry.
Oh, thank you, Gayle! 😊
Great job! I love the special touches you put in there - the lamp with the glass shade, the chandelier, the stained glass window.
Thanks so much, Christine! 😊
These are my favorite types of videos, we can learn to do this in our own homes thanks Sherry❤
Absolutely stunning ! You did an amazing job! Love the wall paper with your sweet birds. I too love birds. Your stained glass window is perfect in this space. Also love the bird planter from your thrift shopping. The chandelier takes it to a new level!! Your guests will love this well planned out and decorated bathroom.❤❤❤
Thank you so much! You are such a sweetheart, Kim!
Love the vintage mirror, the stained glass window and the wallpaper. So great with the black fixtures.
Love the improvised curtain and shower curtain, as well as all the antique touches!!!
I LOVE THE CHANDELIER!! You did a great job!!!!
Love the wallpaper, apothecary cabinet, and the Home Goods soap dispenser. The bathroom turned out beautifully. You are such a hard worker and should be so happy with all you accomplish!!😊 Wow!!😊
I wish you were my best friend. I just love your videos and in awe of your talent! I especially love how thoroughly you give directions. Keep up the great work.
Wow, what a change! It looks so vintage. I love the curtains.
Simply stunning. I don't think there is a space that you cannot make beautiful!
Wow! I never knew you could paint fixtures like tub faucets, etc. You are amazing!
Thank you! 😊
what can say dear Sherry.....you have the gift of talent dear!
WOW!! I love the whole room but especially apprciate your attention to detail. That molding was a brilliant touch.....I think it elevates the entire space. Well Done!
Wow. Amazing transformation. Love how you put your decor together, from all your finds. The stained window looks fantastic. Great job. Xxx
This bathroom looks incredible, as does everything you touch Sherry. You certainly don’t let anything stop you from getting what you start finished. Your whole house looks fantastic, well what we’ve seen of it anyway. TFS and have a great week.
Thank you so much, Pamela! You are such a sweetheart!
I really like it . Isn’t it amazing what a difference dark colors make in the feel of a space. 👍👍
Beautiful! Incredible that you achieved this much gorgeousness on that tiny budget. You are so gifted! Thanks for the video. ❤
Looks fantastic! This is the year of bathroom makeovers.
Stunning transformation Sherry. You did an amazing job on this project and showed what can be done with a. little imagination and elbow grease.
This is just so charming and lovely. I think my favorite is the use of the chenille spread and that gorgeous stained glass window. But all of this is beautiful. I also recognize the bird planter! 👏🏼🫶🏻👍🏻🥰
So inspiring! Can't believe the change for under 300 dollars!❤
the whole bathroom looks amazing but I really love that soap dish! so different. Great refresh.
Oh Sherry amazing make over! I don’t know when you get your strength ,you are so petite! Fabulous as always. And I’m so happy the stained glass window made it home in one piece and you found the perfect place for your hanging bird! Love the wallpaper and all the special touches!
So beautiful. The stained window is so pretty and who would have thought of a bedspread for shower curtain and curtain. The molding was perfect and the wallpaper. Thank you
Hi, Sherry. You hit a home run with this makeover. Thanks for sharing❤
I love that wallpaper. Your room makeovers are my favorite. That was a lot of work, but the result was worth it .
Amazing makeover, looks perfect.
One of the best bathroom makeovers I've ever seen! Beautiful job! 😍😍
Wow Sherry, you are amazing. I still say you’re a natural designer. I love the makeover. It’s beautiful. I could hang out there in the tub all day. Wallpaper is perfect n redoing the faucet n all looks awesome black.
You are the Wonder Woman of design. ( no doubt about either)
♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍👍🌟🌟
You are amazing Sherri. What a welcoming space you have created. 😊
Wow!!! You are super talented!!!!! You certainly did a ton of work here! The outcome is absolutely stunning!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much, Melissa! I am so glad that I now have a nice bathroom for my out of town family and friends to use when they visit. (I was embarrassed when the bathroom was a peach explosion!)
@@CanterburyCottage Sherry you are truly amazing!! I am so happy that I have found your channel. You are a complete ray of sunshine and watching your videos is so calming for me. You are truly an absolute sweetheart ❤️. Whenever I watch your videos I always think to myself I bet she was a cheerleader haha. Because you are super sweet and uplifting. And your hair I absolutely love!! The color the style and how thick it is. I am so thankful to you for sharing your incredible talents with all of us here on RUclips ☺️☺️☺️
This bathroom is perfection! I love the wallpaper, mirror, chandelier, just everything! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much, Donna! 😊 I used to be embarrassed for people to go upstairs because I didn’t want them to see that peach bathroom!
Beautiful job! Those night lights on the switch plate covers are a great idea, you don't have to give up a socket. Also thank you so much for sharing all the products that you use
I love what you have done. Iv never thought of wall paper in the bathroom. Like the stain glass on the window. You are a very good lady at what you do. Thanks for sharing you ideas. Catch you next time xx
I love the look of the old and vintage❤
Your bathroom refresh video was timely for me as I am currently refreshing both of our bathrooms. As always, you have so many great ideas! Your bathroom refresh turned out beautifully.
This is amazing, Sherry! Love, love the black!!
Love the whole thing!! The chenille adds a bit of softness and what a mind you have for spotting things at thrift stores and using them in different ways. Super!]
Every time I watch a new video of yours I am so impressed by your genius and inspiration. What a beautiful bathroom! I loved every detail. I love your glass-fronted medicine cabinet, and found it fascinating to gaze at your vintage medicines. Your wallpaper is dreamy. I could go on . . . Thank you for sharing this amazing bathroom refresh! ❤
It turned out beautiful I love the tile and wallpaper.
Good afternoon, Sherry! Yay! Cannot wait to see this transformation! ❤, Bobbie. P.S. Wow!! Another beautifully curated interior transformation. The stained glass window is definitely the cherry on top. Well done, as always. ❤
Maravilhoso! I loved everthing in the "new bathrooom",my favorite item is the medicine cabinet.
I think it looks incredible; I love the wallpaper and black fixtures!!!
Thank you so much, Stephanie! 😊
Thank you so much, Stephanie! 😊
I like the before deco and the after.
I used Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy about 17 years ago on a white stove. It looks just as good today as the day I used it for the chip at the very front of the piece which we damaged just after we bought it. Its great stuff and so easy to use!
I absolutely LOVE your room makeovers so so much! They’re my favorite content. I get great ideas for what I want to do to my own home lol.
I am so glad I can share some ideas with you! I really wanted to try brush painting metal fixtures, and I thought they turned out just as nice as if I had sprayed them (without the little specks of paint everywhere).
Gorgeous. You really did a nice job Sherry.
Great video !
You are incredible !
The power room is fabulous 🌸💕🌺🙌🏽❣️
Beautiful job, as always. I particularly like the addition of the chair rail, the dresser mirror, and, of course, the stained glass. I think I will be on the lookout for a similar piece for my bathroom window.
Hello My friend! I adore the remaining built in medicine cabinet and toothbrush niche, those kind of details make my heart happy! :) The makeover is just lovely, and I really like the dark wallpaper….it makes it cozy and moody too!
Thank you very much! I was so sad to lose the swinging door on the toothbrush niche. If I had left the door on, it wouldn’t have opened, so I decided to take it off and create a little cubby hole instead.
@@CanterburyCottage better a cubby hole, than nothing at all! ❤️
Absolutely beautiful. Love the colors and all the extra touches you did. ❤
It's beautiful. I really love the shower curtain idea. That's awesome. I hunted for one I wanted and couldn't find anything I liked. I was shopping at my sister's fabric shop and found the perfect fabric. Everyone is amazed with it and wants to know where I found it. 😂. I love having things in my home that are original and not duplicated 1000000 times.
That wallpaper is really pretty! The bathroom looks amazing! The peach did have to go!
Thank you, Wendy! It was a bad peach color, too-flesh toned! 😳
@@CanterburyCottage ewww!😬
That looks 100 per cent better lovely
Must be the month for bathroom makeovers! After 17? Yrs of having it the same grn color from when I first painted it I decided it was time for a change! I had a 3 in one weather station and some vintage ship pics along with old whaling decor. So my bathroom now is a blue silver. So fresh now which is what I needed! Yours turned out lovely❤️
Sharen, your bathroom sounds lovely! I thrifted a vintage ship picture recently that I wanted to use in the bathroom, but it didn’t go with the wallpaper at all. In fact, I’m not sure I have a place for it, but it was so pretty that I couldn’t resist buying it.
I admire your skills as well as your beauty. Seriously.
❤
I’ve been wanting to paint my bathroom fixtures. Now I have the confidence to actually do it. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
Go for it, Penny! If you have ugly old fixtures like mine, you’ll be so happy. I think the paint will last a long time if I only use nonabrasive cleaners on the fixtures.
So lovely. You have so much patience.
Hello Sherry, you have done a Beautiful Job! But it don’t Surprise Me! I always Love how you Decorate! ❤
