They have killed the m16 😢.... I have a feeling when ever a Gaming Laptop is made smaller its always a heating mess I currently own the m16r1 and I love it
@@silverpro8356I have the 4080 with the i9 and 240hz screen and it’s god tier. Games run smooth, movies look stunning on the QHD. And playing cod at 170 FPS is freaking amazing
A 185H paired with a 4070 (max combo on an R2) generates a lot less heat than a 13900HX & 4090 (max for R1). The less heat you generate, the less you need to dissipate. Its not rocket science.

@@MrPotato_Cod I'm glad to get some feedback about the Razor build quality, it looks like it would last 2years tops, & a flimsy cheap design, weak build, but no doubt they got the specs, just looks like something that will get damaged easily, flimsy keyboard & no ergonomics in any part of the design. Just a rectangle ....with Specs.
No micro led or oled? Nah I’m good razer it is. Alienware used to have the cream in displays but they been dropping the ball. All my displays in my house are oled so micro led or oled are a must. Normal lcd is hella noticeable now I can’t go back.
My 77 inch LG C3 is cheaper than that razer laptop. No way anyone is spending 4k for a 4070 with an oled screen when you can get this for far cheaper and just plug it in to your tv or oled monitor

GIVE US A BRIGHTER IPS DISPLAY AND BETTER COOLING THATS ALL WE WANTED AND AT LEAST PUT A 4080 IN IT OR ITS NOT EVEN WORTH HAVING.
Same here, bought last december, but are you facing issues with screen freeze during optimus switching and did you face any blue screen when using dedicated graphics in battery mode?
M16 R2 looks great but was hoping Alienware would say "Hey we get it you all hate that 330w chungis charger we are swapping those out for the SFF 240w as standard!"
They listens to customers..? The biggest complaint was the screen on the m16 r1, but they kept the same screen, downgraded the performance and ports, and gave a smaller footprint. Stealth mode button? Nobody asked for any of this. You can already easily turn off all the lights with the alienware command center. The price point makes sense for the downgrades. Might as well buy a different laptop though at that point. You don’t buy Alienware for mediocre specs. Way to water down your brand…
I've been a console gamer my whole life, but this looks interesting, especially for the affordable price. I use a MacBook Pro for some retro gaming, but since I got a Steam Deck, I've been wanting to migrate to a more permanent PC setup. I realize I could get a desktop PC for this, but I like the portability of the laptop as a more powerful version of my Steam Deck. Definitely will buy this.
After a month of ownership, I have 0 issues with the 'mere' 300 nits display. Turns out that even though demands on CPUs, GPUs, RAM, and SSD's are increasing at about the rate that tech can advance ... the world around us isn't getting any brighter. What was bright enough 5 years ago was also bright enough 10 years ago, and is still bright enough today & will be bright enough 5 years from now.
So the M16 R2 is more crappier design that looks like the old model. I just don't like the new design and i guess there's someone who like this design. Also, why did they turn their power house M series into an X series DNA which is to be thin and powerful. No point in calling it M series anymore.
Please do not BUY logitech accessories! My G915 has double tapping iissue and 2 mouses have double click issues. I'im very iniiterested ini buyiinig alienware's mouse!
such a ridiculous to praise that stealth button, I mean, have you ever used a gaming laptop before? Which normally has a button to switch mode for years already. And the RGB trackpad is "really cool"? How old are you, to be honest? They used to have a full RGB trackpad before, you know, so I have no idea how it may be "cool" to have a similar one, a stroke RGB trackpad. What a joke, even for a hands-on video, the content is still blank and pointless.
I DONT THINK CUSTOMER FEEDBACKED TO ELIMINATE THE RGB IN THE BACK
😭😭😭😭

what gtx card you got in it ? How is it for editing videos and watching movies i am thinking of getting one hey.
@silverpro8356 it has RTX 4060 and I got the one with QHD display so it's great for both movies & games

@bbii125 do you have a problem with changing the thermal paste? cause the motherboard was inverted

Wasn't the point of the X-series to be as small as possible, and the M-series to be the traditional "powerhouse" Alienware machines?
Opposite happened 😂
So Asus and Dell decided to max out at 4070 make laptops less deep and less manufactured
I was waiting for m16 r2 with rtx 4080, welp gotta get m16 r1 after waiting for nothing
Same this new design is truly disgusting
Haha I agree with you guys. Weird the X16 R2 isn't getting this treatment.
I was waiting for them to upgrade the m18 or x18 to 4k UHD , to really compete or BEAT MSI & now Razor....but...

they didn't do this to the 2024 x16 if youre willing to deal with the inherent problems it will bring
Im happy that i bought m16 last December 😅. Way cooler design
yea Nd now the same old model will go on for 200$ cheaper as soon as this one drops
Same here, bought last december, but are you facing issues with screen freeze during optimus switching and did you face any blue screen when using dedicated graphics in battery mode?
I don't think it would go cheaper, I bought it for 1399 the 4070 version.. and only only after a week it is now 1999
@@LordNaver so far all good. Didn’t experience any issues. 64gb Ram at 4070.

The older design was nicer imo
I much prefer this minimalist look
The old looks cooler
Yeah, last Gen looked better.
Last gen looked like a Minecraft block and was way to big for a 16 inch laptop
Yea looks kinda bland but not minimalist in a stylish way.
Basically they turn around with their design language?

Lame. Alienware was elite. They decided making E-Waste Laptops for the masses was a good idea?! Shameful.

im selling my brand new one still in the box for under retail if you are interested
Another iteration of Alienware Alienating itself from itself.
WOW M16 looking more like dell laptop then alienware laptop lol. Dell laptop with alienware logo
More specifically a cheap model Dell
Best wishes🎉😘
Alienware basically didn't get the BBL this yr . looks nice tho not better , just nice :( , need to get my hands on the performance numbers .
Does this new model have 500 nits screen?
Hardware Canucks in their video call Dell out for still using a 300-nit display.

Old looks great!
R1 looks bad ass
No Alienware UFO😢
thanks for aso good video about dell laptop.
Get rid of an iconic design-big mistake. Alienware clamshell is a big distinguishing factor. Now it looks like some plain Dell or Lenovo
Beautiful I like it
Is this leptop i9 -14900HX ?
No, m16 and x16 both will have core ultra series while m18 will have 14th gen core I series from now on.
Perfect for college going students
but is it still 16:9?
His voice is cracking with disappointment 😞
Sometimes a new product isn't needed yearly, but hey, that's just greed.
i like alienware. I like laptop too. Though not sure what is difference between m16 r2 and x16 r2.
X is thinner, more expensive, has faster but soldered (ie, un-upgradable) RAM, and can be bought with up to a 4090 card

How come you guys don't upload videos higher than 1080p? Gimme some 4K, you're a tech channel nonetheless!

funny lame over priced 16" laptop with no Numpad
If they'd really heard their customers they would relocate that power button to some dedicated area
