I remember reading an article about a guy using fungi to clean up toxic waste from a wrecked semi truck on the highway. It leaked oil and diesel off of the shoulder of the highway and the land below. This fungi that he put there consumed the waste and cleaned the soil. Pretty amazing.

Great study on turkey tail shows that if you take it in conjunction with chemotherapy to fight cancer, you will live an average of 6 to 10 years longer then you would if just taking chemotherapy by itself. The best part about turkey tail is, it grows everywhere. Dead logs on the ground or standing Deadwood are where you can find it, it has some look-alikes, so make sure to positively identify it. I like drying it and grinding it up and putting it in chai tea
Another one I'll add is the Enoki mushroom, they're long and skinny and get stuck in your teeth but they have the anti-cancer properties too. Another one I like is the King Trumpet, largest of the Oyster mushroom family. If you happen to have an Asian grocery close they'll have most of these mentioned.
Or you could just find Enokis in the wild. They grow during the winter time in Ohio. Beautiful orange mushrooms, with long white stems. They're so yummy. Chicken of the woods and Chantrell mushrooms are amazing too.
As someone who is facing bladder cancer, my research has brought up Maitake as especially good for that and cancer generally, also known as chicken of the woods in the US , I take the extract
@@j.pgoodwin9020 What state do you live in? (If in the US). Nows the season for them and depending on the area you're at. I could guide you on how to find them fresh. In my opinion, they're the easiest one to find. Plus, you don't have to worry about deadly look a likes. You know when you see it. Lol
For anyone wondering where the best place to get these mushrooms from. "Hybrid Herbs" do the highest quality mushrooms and give you all the benefits you need. They are 10:1 extract which means you don't need to buy as much as you would if you bought it elsewhere. They are really amazing quality 👏
Great video. Over the last year, I have fallen love with mushrooms. In my salads, pasta, Chinese food, etc. I feel so good after having eaten them. They're so amazing!
I have the good fortune of having a "turkey tail colony" growing happily right in my little back yard (big rotting logs). It is dormant now but will burst out with new growth again next spring. So the issue is about how best to ingest it. Most advice is to "make a tea". Well, I started chewing it raw from time to time, and it is not bad at all. Mild mushroom flavour, and after a while when it gets a bit tired and woody, I just spit it out. Done. No tea. Opinions?
Finding Shiitake and now lions mane to cook with is fairly easy. I have found Turkey Tail in the wild maybe even Reishi. I have a good eye and friends that are shroomers take me along. would we just dry the second two out and powder them? Or do people cook with them? Also when you cook your mushrooms does that change their properties? Happy New Year to you and your family!!
look up Paul Stamets -- he has been studying mushrooms for years, he has a LOT of info online and his stuff is fascinating. He has info somehwere on how to use them and how to cook them?? I think! 😀
You don't want to cook reshi if you find it. No way in hell you could get away with that. Either break it into tiny pieces and just brew it that way. Or grind it up into a powder.
Good Morning , Dr.Berg 🌞 Thank you so much. for sharing this Interesting Information and Great advice with everybody ❤ Have a wonderful weekend , God bless you all ! 🙏 12 / 30 / 2O22🙏

Where would I get the more rare mushrooms? I'd be afraid to try to find them on my own out of the woods because if I get the wrong type I could poison myself.
How much would you have to take on a daily basis? Different amounts for the different mushrooms? Lion's Mane I now take every day, I think it's 1000 mg. I also take Reishi, but less. I have never taken Turkey Tail. Shiitake I have eaten cooked, but I wouldn't want to eat that in a meal every day. And can you combine some or all of the mushrooms? And what about Cordyceps?
Love the channel, thanks doc. At our home we use Stamets 7, It's an excellent balance of 7 essential mushrooms including the ones in this video. Since we have added that to our routine, my wife has noticed major improvements with her ADHD among other things. I highly recommend adding the mushrooms to your regiment of supplements. It has done wonders for our family.
Atm I use Cordyceps i my pre workout smoothies, but in my nutri library, i also have Charga and Reishi in powder form, and recently ordered lionsmane. I will also advice people to use maca and ashwagandha for brain boost, motivation boost and anti stress and anti anxiety
I am really struggling with staying on keto I lost 25 pounds a few years ago but gained it all back and a few more after going thru menopause. I know it is a mental thing but I also feel like I need biscuits or crackers in the morning for my stomach with my medicine I feel slightly nauseous and I keep blowing it... I want to do better!
You may not be able to do full keto dealing with menopause. Be gentle with yourself, just focus on the intermittent fasting, but don’t push yourself too hard. Don’t do it every day. Do low carb but don’t push yourself to do an all or nothing-it could trigger a stress reaction and make menopause more difficult. I am a big fan of keto and intermittent fasting, but just sharing what I’ve learned.
I just looked on Amazon and they have a supplement that has all 4 mushrooms in it as pill form my question is will the supplements work ok if a person cannot find certain mushrooms ?????
Psilocybin containing mushrooms save my life. The drastically reduced my benzodiazepine withdrawal allowing me to quite illicit pill addiction after three years of heavy daily use before it would had became medically dangerous to quit
I live in Michigan….suffering for awhile now but didnt realize how serious I may have it until recently - probably bc of @self medicating” with alcohol
Psychedelic is the answer to most severe anxiety and depression...The use of magic mushrooms completely helps one get over depression and makes you feel like yourself...I used antidepressants for some years but it only made me feel like a zombie but with immediate use of mushroom 🍄 in few months I feel like I'm living a whole new Life.
I've known about the mushrooms and enjoy using them in my recipes but the one I never heard of is the "lion's mane." I am grateful for this new and valuable information.
I was wondering when Dr Berg would finally dig into this topic :) Been using all of these for a couple of years now and the benefits are real. Let me add Cordyceps to this list. You can brew all of these together and have a great mushroom broth, or you can add two teaspoons of pure cocoa and some cinnamon (+ optional MCT oil) for a variation that will relax and energize you.
can we please go back to the teachers white writing info box where the info is there and we can look at it instead looking for internet heroes who have pinned the highlights of the benefits.
Yes, the concentrated powdered lions mane in capsule form caused me to have worsened allergy symptoms, as it increases histamine. However, eating fresh lions mane did not prompt the same response
Mayo has also found that Reishi has a profound effect on the immune system specifically in regards to fighting cancer. *I saved my dog from having her ear cut off for a mast cell tumor by feeding her Reishi.*
@@marianapietraru9675 It took about 3 months to start seeing if I remember correctly; I wish I could post photos ans I wish, too, that I'd kept a diary. I bought Duanwood Reishi from Dragon Herbs and I mixed it in with her food and she never knew, LOL! It's very bitter though so it had to be mixed.
@AllHim Withme Thank you so much. I am going to look into that. My dog has a lump above his right ear, and the vet wants to cut it. It kept growing slowly over 3 years, and I am committed to trying something else other than surgery.

These have helped me a lot in the past after lyme/gut induced inflammation. The infamous shoulder problem (caused by the gall bladder ?) just went away within a day. Collecting wild mushrooms as well but those are for the kitchen.
Your "lyme" inflammation,, do you get vaccinated? I suffer from this, and my symptoms are same as vaccine adverse reactions. Pretty sure my Lyme disease was injected into me with a needle. I know someone else that had just been diagnosed with Lyme disease, but had also just been vaccinated.
@@badassmother1426 Nope, 7 years ago already, starting out with a bug and a ring on my leg - so a positive id. Currently I have some food and inflammation challenges left but ao mushrooms, kefir and IF have helped me enormously. 'Long' haul lyme and covid have some eerie similarities, but then most inflammation mediated illnesses do. Things have been pretty bad back when, and pretty good nowadays.
@@justforthehackofit Could you please explain what you mean with the "infamous shoulder problem (caused by gallbladder ?)"? I have problems with my left shoulder, wondering if it's the same and if it can be cured
@@precursors sure, Dr Berg has shared some videos on gall bladder problems and referred pain in the right shoulder (having to do with nerves running between the 2). Re the left shoulder he suggested this may stem from the pancreas but I seem to recall the gall bladder can't be ruled out. Reishi, lion's mane and turkey tail mushrooms are not available in central Otago New Zealand so so much for that but you can buy dry shitake from china which I did but I hesitated to open them because the carb count on the label seems a little suspiciously high🤔 much like the supposedly keto friendly breakfast cereal replacement that I discovered has rice flour in it🤦 or the ketogenic bars that contain malitol as a sweetner 🤦 yeah I already made that screw up😆 so how about field mushrooms, portabello mushrooms and oyster mushrooms? These are available here.
As usual, you haven't said anything, except what you believe. As usual, also, you haven't said whether the alleged benefits are harnessed from raw species, cooked, dried or boiled into teas. As usual, also, you failed to mention any toxoligies, like oxolates, etc. Again, you've said perfectly nothing. As usual. From personal experience, btw, I know the first and fouth "shrooms" don't taste quite as good as real mouldy leather. You' eat them only if you're starving, and get tired of eating grass and tree bark. For thrill seekers only.
I take turkey tail for years now (3 months on, 3 months off) on prescription of my gynecologist. What I find very interesting is that in most pharmacies they have it, even though nobody knows why and it's not written on the packaging or anything. I find very interesting the reishi part, in my family we take it sometimes for cold, but the other advantages seem much more interesting.
@@davesp4246 Yup, orally, the dosage is indicated on the packaging and it depends if it's raw or capsule. Just to be clear, I take them bc a year after I had a procedure for papilloma, my pap smear showed increased risk. And I get a test done every year.
It's crazy how I couldn't stand mushrooms or peppers in my youth but now consume them literally every day. Black coffee was likely the slippery slope that lead to subtle flavor profile, which then became an interest in wine, spirits, and raw veg. You ever had an almond that tastes like the extract and not just a stale nut? Now you're hooked. Next thing you know you're getting into sushi and hot sauce and making your own hummus. Wild.
Thank you for this invaluable information. Pls do a video to explain how much of each can one consume and at what frequencies...pls kindly. I think they all are necessary for our good health... Everyone has cancer cells in them it's just that they die and go away until they stop dying.. So am thinking preventative ly one should consume the Turkey tail... I also think most ppl are suffering from brain fog mental issues due to all the CONSTANT radiation and bombardment of electromagnetic infusions in the atmosphere..which is directly impacting the neurotransmitters and nervous system. Gut health and brain health go hand in hand .. They all are invaluable to good health. Pls make an urgent video to explain how to consume them so as to get the maximum benefits.. Deeply grateful
Great video Dr. Berg, and this is just scratching the surface of the hundred or so cultivated and wild mushroom species can do. I just collected and dehydrated 20 pounds of Honey Mushrooms and even they have anti viral antibacterial properties. they also taste great with eggs on toast =D
The honey mushroom is considered edible, and choice. They usually fruit prolifically, so you can harvest them in abundance. I didn't know about their medicinal properties, though.
I take Five Defenders every day for immunity. I have survived Brain and Breast Cancer so this is valuable and Fascinating information Dr Berg, as usual!
@teresa. Did you just do mushrooms for breast cancer or other conventional/non conventional treatments? A family member is going through this right now and looking for alternative therapies
I'm not that big on eating some food, apparently.. its the taste... but I recently started taking a Mushroom Supplement, it's the Spring Valley one from Walmart.. it has cordyceps, reishi, and lions mane.. I need to find one within my price range that has them all.. What is your opinion of store brand supplements?

As usual, you haven't said anything, except what you believe. As usual, also, you haven't said whether the alleged benefits are harnessed from raw species, cooked, dried or boiled into teas. As usual, also, you failed to mention any toxoligies, like oxolates, etc. Again, you've said perfectly nothing. As usual.
From personal experience, btw, I know the first and fouth "shrooms" don't taste quite as good as real mouldy leather. You' eat them only if you're starving, and get tired of eating grass and tree bark. For thrill seekers only.

Again I'm here and at #4:35 turkey tail
Wow lol thanks for sharing ❤
It's crazy how I couldn't stand mushrooms or peppers in my youth but now consume them literally every day. Black coffee was likely the slippery slope that lead to subtle flavor profile, which then became an interest in wine, spirits, and raw veg.
